Was nice to fly back to Budapest yesterday, you know whenever you fly back to the city you were brought up in, or get the train to the city you were brought up in you get a sense of ease and you know you're "home"? I always get this feeling with Budapest too, more so than any other place I've lived.

I got home, had a nap, watched some football, played a little poker and got relatively early night.

Today had a good sleep and woke up lateish. Had a very good session, bunch of deep runs, managed to chop the $215 turbo HU and win the .fr 200 6max which is one of my favourite tournaments and a few other nice runs for 20k session.

Next 2 days I will relax a lot, go to spa, shop, enjoy being here then I fly back to Prague on Wednesday evening before flying back to Newcastle on Thursday for the rest of Christmas.

One interesting hand I played today.

http://www.boomplayer.com/en/poker-h...319_1F94554086

I turn aces into a bluff on the river. I can have jj, qq, kk, at, t9 where he really will never have them, his main value combos are relatively not very strong vs the range I can raise otr.

Going to play fifa for a bit before bed. vamonosss

One pretty interesting one was vs probably one of the only competent regs at the table.

300/600/75, I make it 1800 on the button with AJ, he defends bb.

Flop j43r, he check/calls 1500
Turn j433, somewhat surprisingly he didn't lead, I decided to check back and raise rivers vs certain Sizings and call vs others. He bet big on blank river and I called and win vs kqo

Really trying hard to remember hands now but so much happened between then and now that I don't really remember. Bust out hand was interesting.

I have 26k at 600/1200

Guy opened UTG first hand at new table off tonnes then reg who wasn't trappy at all but a little peely pre flat mp. I squeezed j7s in cut off and they both called.

Flop kk7fd, checks to me, pot is 27k, I have 18.5k left.

I can shove here or check and I think that's what most people do. I was very unsure really. I thought player two could have 22-66 very often and the opener potentially too. I decided to bet 4K to protect a little vs overs. Player 1 c/r to 15k and whilst i didn't love It the pot it now 46k and its 14k for me to call, he could potentially have worse 8s, maybe just going with Laura, and then obviously flush draws. I got the bad news quickly that he had KT. Potentially went too wide pre flop here but the antes are really really big, way bigger than online and squeezing vs loose openers is good I think. And my hand usually plays pretty easily on flops.

Anyway I felt like this was a really good warm up. I went to bed pretty early and woke up st 6am. I went and played the graveyard shift. Ended up a little bit. I played in a 8-16 plo game with a fish who was down around 30 buy ins and going all in every single hand. Unfortunately after I stacked him he first time he decided to quit. I played 7 handed with 4 very strong players. Only one interesting hand of note.

I limp j974ds into v aggro players Straddle. Bb who is also v aggro raises and straddled calls and I call.

Flop, QT4cc (I have clubs) bet, call and I call.
Turn QT4K bet big, call and I call
River QT4K2 bet 1/3 pot, taaaaank fold from the very good player and I didn't really love it but called. Villain had QJJJ and I won decent pot.

I quit soon after to get breakfast at 11am (last orders) breakfast finished I went back to my room for a nap. Running after me into the lift was a Lebanese player from my table yesterday. He told me that I had played amazing, that he loved my game and was really impressed. There was a guy in the lift who I kind of know and felt a little embarrassed. The lift Door opened and he said "but your last hand was ****ing terrible, I don't know what you were thinking"

Pretty funny, I laughed with the other guy in the lift.

Had a pretty decent nap and then went for dinner with Adam and European and then decided to be a good grinder and go reg the satalite where things got a little tasty...
Was nice playing with you "Daniel"

Next time fold J9xx

They are good bro. Just a matter of time before they win euros and possibly even world championships.

Whenever people sit down I think they just perceive every German or Skandi who is under 30 "must" be good. It's really not the case. I had couple encounters this week in the same tournament.

Started off with me raising UTG, mp young skandi flats with 14bbs, flop 942 i Cbet t9s for 1.5bbs for protection and he jams. I tank and say must be only aces and decide to fold, he shows me 4. He told me later he had a4s with some pretty bad reasoning why he played the hand. As the night in we sat together again, he was a really really nice guy. He had saved up for Vegas for 2 years and decided to take his shot in Prague instead. He finished day 1 of Eureka with too 5 chips and said it was one of most exciting experiences ever. He played 3 satalites to eureka and bubbled them but because he was going deep decided to play the EPT one too. As we approached the bubble he asked me if I'd take the cash or take a shot in the tournament. I told him I'd won a seat so would take cash. He told me the buy in was way more than his bankroll and he would have to take the cash. I told him he couldn't do this and he got into a big sweat. He eventually decided to bust out in 24 (23 seats) for 2700 euros instead of the 5300 EPT seat when he had it locked up. He really reminded me of myself when I was 20. Thought he knew a lot about poker but was really fundamentally lacking in a lot of spots, was being picked off by experienced players in spots which worked against the amateurs in his local casinos $30 tournaments. He showed a lot of drive, great personality and great hunger for he game. This whole experience will be great for him and he will be dying for the next time he can go on a road trip to an EPT. That's what it really all is about, young guys really wanting to be a poker pro, chasing the dream, watching Shark cage and enjoying it, always watching EPT live, signing everybody loves a chopped pot whenever they split a pot in their local casino.

The second guy I kind of wish I hadn't said what I did, but I did it so whatever. Old tight guy opens utg in satalite, looseish guy flyers utg1 and then mp goes all in for 16bbs. I have 13bbs on the button with 99 and I can't see utg and utg1 stacks I ask them one by one if I can see and try to count their stacks (lighting is sometimes horrific here in the small rooms at EPTs) the guy who jammed, a young German who thought he knew a lot more than he clearly did piped up something like "we all have more than you bro it's irrelevant, why are you asking these questions, you're the short stack" or something along those lines. And I said "if you need me to explain why I need to know their stack sizes then maybe you should unreg pre" I immediately regretted it and it was very arrogant of me to say. I really get on very well with people in live poker, the bad fish love playing with me, I'm usually very polite but like to have fun with them and ofc I'm aggressive so I give them action. It's more the younger guys who needlessly tank, berate the fish (oh the irony!) and try to emulate Timex/durrrrr who I sometimes rub up the wrong way. It's definitely not something j should do though and it's inexcusable.

I like to be honest in the blog so when in WSOP I wrote a lot about fish from all over America inviting me to private games because of how well I interacted with them i think it's important to come clean and admit when I've perhaps been out of line.

It's not something I do a lot at all, but I just wanted to post to give myself some accountability about it and to remind myself in the future not to do it again either. I remember last year in Malta when I went to high five the fish who just two outered me. Sometimes we (I) do silly things and it shows a sign of not being completely composed and in control of everything, but when you're talking every hand and speaking a lot and trying to use it to your advantage it's easy to get caught in the heat of the moment.

Just remembered one last hand from the trip which got me in trouble.

I raise pre, two fish call in the eureka high roller.

Flop 943ddx bb leads, I min raise AQ, he calls.
Turn 943ddx T, check check
River 943TQ , check, I pot

He's tanking and I saw wow maybe I'm bluffing with the best hand, that would be sick. He looks at me confused and I snap turn over the Ace. He looks at me, laughs, and calls. I show him the queen and he mucks. I get a 5 hand penalty! Seems a little harsh, but probably +ev for me!

Streamed my Tuesday session for the stable. Had a deep run in Super Tuesday. Came 20th, played great but lost 3 very important flops when I was 3/25. Flipping with Faraz Jaka not recommended apparently. Fly back to Prague tomorrow night.

because it isn't the nature of the game/the game isn't intended that way I'd guess

I don't really mind it too much tbh, but can see why people are offended

flipping your card is extremely scummy, thats something you'd expect from a men the master type player, or the shady arab guy @ foxwoods who was famous for always angling, getting temp banned. kind of surprised to see a player like you doing that.

That sounds like an absurd ruling to me and anyone who thinks it's scummy is out of their mind. This is especially the case when lollive players will sometimes tank with like T9 there. If it were 3-way it's bad because obviously you're giving away information about other peoples' hands as well, but heads up it's fine and you should kick up a fuss about the ruling.
