Just went from 1/12 in $2rebuy 5,5k to out in 11th ughhhh Flatted 3b from reg CO vs BTN (he's light pretty much always as he has position and only bigger stack at my table) w ATdd. Flop AAQd goes x/x, I bet Kd turn 1/3 pot he calls, I bet 40pct pot on 6d river and he tankshoves. First instinct was grosss but don't think i can fold since I pretty much never have boats and he could turn KQ into a bluff, vb worse flushes etc..

Really at the top of my frustration right now, just absolutely nothing going my way atm

Just caught up on the thread, nice run so far in 2015. I feel your frustration man, have been on a downswing myself and it has killed most of my roll. Now back grinding the micros lol but thats the path you choose as a MTT grinder.

Definitely can relate to your goals at the beginning of the year as I am also trying to see if this MTT grinding can be viable while living with my parents.

Hope some run good finds you soon enough, GL to you at the tables !!!!

------------------------------------------------------

Gonna keep my word and post May graph (ughh) and the month to date below, but let's ramble a bit first.

I started off June with setting up my HUD properly and it's made such a huge difference that I really regret not paying attention to that in May. Might've saved me some good money if I did. I've got a new setup and started just sticking post-its everywhere with simple things on it, f.e: "LOOK AT NOTES=>ARE THEY RELEVANT?" or "STATIONING TOO MUCH LATELY=>DONT TRY TOO HARD TO FIND REASONS TO CALL" etc.. and allthough it's all basic stuff it seems like it helps me a bit.

I've also written down a fixed schedule of mtt's I'll play every day (some optional, depending on feeling, tablecount, etc). I should be getting in at least 50 games per day I grind now, so that'll be good for the volume part. Probably taking 2 days/week off on average tho so not quite the supergrinder yet Think with having a gf and being in need of somewhat of a social life that's the best I can do for now, but I do intend to put in short sng or cash sessions on some off-days.

Finally, I'd like to state here that I'm feeling like I've never played better than now. I'm by no means a crusher yet, but I can feel improvement and am confident that I'm a comfortable winner in my current games. That said, the runbad I'm experiencing atm is pretty absurd. Not "this is impossible" absurd, more like "I didn't think it would ever happen to me" absurd The one positive thing about that is that it makes me so much tougher mentally and that's something I absolutely need anyway. So maybe it's exactly what I needed eh

Made a ton of runs lately and even closed something, but as you might've guessed by above post this hasn't resulted in much $$

Some notable runs:

45th - Big $5,50 (blinded off 15ish bb due to internet problems)
39th - $22 6max PSKO
36th - Big $44
28th - Big $33
27th - $8+R 30k Sunday edition
26th - 16,50 8max
21st - $22 10k
18th - $22 10k
16th - $8,80 turbo zoom
14th - Big $33
10th - $4,40 8max
7th - $22 deepstack
5th - $4,40 8max
4th - $2 rebuy 2k

Then yesterday managed to get 1st in the $16,50 8max for $750'ish, which is a nice confidence boost! Fun fact: 5/9 mtt's I've won this year were 8max, I might be a specialist

So, did you actually read all that? It's time for some graphs:

May (nsfw)

Year to date

Thanks for reading, gonna start regging now. Good luck all at the tables

Hi,

"I'm feeling like I've never played better than now" and "I can feel improvement and am confident that I'm a comfortable winner in my current games" are the most important things so gg for that and ofc its good to have 50+ games a day.

Thanks a lot fr the support!

Think I might be done w poker for a while, I just can't take it anymore. I'm doubting everything I do and I wasn't even a crusher to begin with so I don't know what I am now. I don't know if I'm playing A, B or C-game, I just know that I get up in a decent mood, load tables, get crushed, get depressed, rinse and repeat

and it's just too much right now. I hope i'll feel better after a break of couple of weeks max but i dunno. Will try to get some good study in before I play again, once I can muster up some strenght to do that

Just openshoved every hand in a couple of micros i still had open bc i need to get away right now, feeling pretty depressed

I hope I don't have to give up poker, and I doubt I will but i rly need a break right now. No idea how long I actually keep myself from grinding again but it's def best with my current mindset

MTT's can be a lot of pain and i know some people have it faaaaar worse than me in how they're running so i hope i don't come across like a whiny tool

Hopefully untill soon

Oh, and I know this is really contradictory to my last post, but literally as soon as I posted that my confidence just started to fade away with every busted tourney and i just can't seem to stop that

sry if this dissapoints

Why not work some lower variance games into your grind? Learning to beat some low stakes cash/sng would help iron out the brutal swings that come with the mtt grind and would also give you an option for things to grind when you don't have time for a full mtt session. gl turning it around!

Thanks guys!

Everest, the highest I'll play on a weekday is big33-44 (actually cut 44$ from that recently, not sure if I'm gonna play it daily again now) and (also just decided not to play daily) the early 33$ 4k. And the 27$ psko regular and 6max

On a sunday it's the kickoff and bigger 75$/55$ but I usually don't buy in with $$. Actually shipped tickets for the milly and the kickoff yesterday but bricked both

Okay seems like i'm not very good at updating

    Year to date graph:

Failing a little at putting in volume and not running very well tbh. On the positive side I've gotten pretty pumped again for poker the last few weeks after being pretty lazy the couple of weeks before that, so I've got that going for me Also been dabbling in PLO10 and NL25-50 just to learn and improve (sometimes I play rly well, sometimes i just spew) and hopefully take a decent game into 2016 where I might mix in cash to achieve SN if it's still worth it

So, one really noticable score since last update. I won the 27$ 6max psko for the second time this year for 2,7k. Really love that tournament and I remember running pretty hot at F2T-FT in this one. Since then not much going on. Got a pt4 trial going now and gonna buy it, I like it much much more than HM2 (will leave my bb graph below)

I played 2 wcoop's so far and they were really exciting. It's pretty nice to have that little extra pressure because of the prestige, huge money etc.. Makes it easy to focus hard from level 1 on.

First one was on Sunday where I decided to use a kickoff ticket for the final phase 1 and got through with about 25bb, which was a bit annoying after losing a few medium sized pots in the final levels.

Once I got to the real event, I started running pretty well and was glad with my play. Had Eugene Katchalov at my table which was pretty cool but didnt get to battle Anyways fast forward to ~400 ppl left, this hand happens:

HJ opens, me in CO (30bb'ish) flat KQcc, folds behind

flop QT7dd HJ bet, I call

turn Kx HJ bet, I call

river 6x HJ bet 60pct pot, I call and lose vs J9s

Really don't think there's much I can do in that hand. Thought about jamming turn since there were two flushdraws i believe but decided calling ip and playing rivers should be best. Rejammed the rest of my stack w AQo and got snapped by ATs but a flopped flush washed away our hopes of a 25bb stack and making day 2 (3). Was exciting though and cashed $600

Then yesterday qualified for the 215$ psko for about $45, got one bounty for the freeroll and eventually got jammed on by sb big stack from CO with QJo for 25bb eff, snap AQs and it runs down 9TxKx so gg us At least we had fun again

I hope to start running a bit better in my normal games at least. WCOOP shots are fun but if I could just FT the big 33 or win the 21$ SKO it would be awesome I filtered some of my results and noticed my results $5-15 being amazing and $15+ being quite poor, albeit only a 1k game sample so I don't know. Probably best to get better either way

    GL everyone grinding!
