Sup 2+2!

Intro:

My name is *********.

I am a donk from northern Europe but I study in the U.K. I am traveling a lot back and forth though. Sometimes I just want to go home and meet family and friends!

Poker:

The reason I am making this blog is because I want to improve my game, where I can post hands, life strategy, and everything else.

I played FR before started at 2NL -> 100 NL. Furthermore I started playing too many tables and started to be an RB Pro, which is the worst that happend to me. These days are just over, period. I took a break from poker last year mostly and just play low-volume @ NL 25 just for fun after work now and then.

I did not have much motivation to improve and I was just not in balance either poker-wise or in life. Semi-depression due to failing economics studies, and a lot of other crap happened in my life at that time. It was not easy, and I really felt that if you want to succeed especially at poker I think the mental state you are in are essential. I have decided to erase all of my HH's from pre April 2013, because I think the RBing and 0.9 bb/100 was just depressing to watch, and I feel that I wanted to start from scratch. Which means no lifetime graphs here.

Now though I am very much in balance in life, and my motivation about improving my poker skills has come back to the point it was back in 2009/10 when I played my first hand. I am enjoying life, and the studies are smooth sailing. I have this huge motivation to succeed and perform which I have never experienced before and I really cannot describe the feeling.

I am just so in love with the game again, and I really just have a hunger to grind volume, play well. I have worked a lot on my game lately, without going to much into detail about my previous leaks. Although I have had some really big "aha" moments, especially with regards to 3-bet and 4-bet game.

After I started to work on my game a lot I went on a decent heater on NL 50, as well as coming 2nd in a 3r 180 turbo and a HU SNG MTT. I am playing on 2 computers because I travel so I will not be able to post any graphs, from that. However I have just made a dropbox so I will start to sync hands.

I have also switched completely from FR (Nitring) to 6 Max. My plan is eventually to start to play heads-up, but thats something that I will not do before I feel that I have a really good grasp of 6m at NL 100 and 200. Which is both relatively though games. My goals are just to play solid poker, and win money. I do not have any goals in terms of numbers, because I do think that is just stupid. My only goals is to improve as a player, be a respected player by other regulars, enjoy poker. I think if I focus on everything, but results it will come. I am not going to play poker for "a living" because I need to, I could sailed through the time in Uni without working because I was really good at saving money when I was working last-year, and two investments in the stock market that yielded over 100% on each of them. Although I am interested in stock-market and poker, which is very focused on money I do not see my self as materialistic at all.

The games I will try to play are:

NL 100: 6-Max - This will be my main-game.
MTTs: $3r+ and $5.50 -> $215

I will try to play a few SCOOP events, even though I have exams coming up in late May.

The SCOOP Events I am looking at is all the L events and some of the M NLHE Events.

I might also try to sell percentages, without mark-up. If you shark-scope me, I have OK ROI. Only reason it is sort of low in profit in total is that my biggest MTT win are not there, and I have played a few Sunday Mirrions for FPPs. You can also take a look at my OPR, but enough of that crap. This is not the market place!

Cash Game Graph April Laptop: - I have $1.2k winnings on NL 50 that I played on my desktop back in Norway earlier in April.

Bankroll:

I will try to avoid cashing out, but if I am going to do it I will invest the money in the stock-market. I have a particular stock I am looking at and I might invest if I can get some decent results.

Start Roll 24. April 2013:

VIP Status:

I have gone through some of my long-term goals, but here are my short term goals:

Drink more water during the longer sessions

Improve bet-sizing

Be unpredictable, but no fancy play syndrome (FPS)

Find ways to exploit regulars so I have a bigger edge even with fish in the game.

First hand I will post is a hand that I would blew when I was "clicking buttons"

€0.50/€1 No Limit Holdem
4 Players
Hand Conversion Powered by weaktight.com

Stacks:
CO brutti (€101) 101bb
BTN seiducr9 (€38.50) 39bb
SB Bully-MA (€40.44) 40bb
BB Hope_Flooky (€100) 100bb

Pre-Flop: (€1.50, 4 players) brutti is CO Q A
brutti raises to €3, 1 fold, Bully-MA raises to €8, 1 fold, brutti calls €5

Flop: J A 6 (€17, 2 players)
Bully-MA bets €12, brutti calls €12

Turn: 7 (€41, 2 players)
Bully-MA bets €9, brutti calls €9

River: J (€59, 2 players)
Bully-MA goes all-in €11.44, brutti calls €11.44

Final Pot: €81.88
brutti shows two pair, Aces and Jacks
Q A
Bully-MA shows a pair of Jacks
5 9

brutti wins €80.63 (net +€40.19)

Bully-MA lost €40.44

I had no info on the guy wether he was a ratholer or just a recreational player. Furthermore, I would have blew this hand raising at any points. Stationing is good sometimes.

This hand occurred in the end of a longer session yesterday, which I do not think is standard at all:

Poker Stars $0.50/$1 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

MP: $107.09
Hero (CO): $111.50
BTN: $100.09
SB: $129.12
BB: $43.23
UTG: $101.50

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is CO with A K
UTG raises to $2.50, MP calls $2.50, Hero raises to $12, 3 folds, UTG raises to $26, 1 fold, Hero raises to $111.50 all in, UTG calls $75.50 all in

Flop: ($207.00) 8 4 2 (2 players - 2 are all in)

Turn: ($207.00) T (2 players - 2 are all in)

River: ($207.00) 6 (2 players - 2 are all in)

Final Pot: $207.00
Hero shows A K (high card Ace - King kicker)
UTG shows A Q (high card Ace)
Hero wins $204.20
(Rake: $2.80)

He must think I am full of it, he's problem though is that he is OOP and my simple 3-bet put him for a decision for 100 bb which I think is very powerful move. This is also the reason I sized it a little bit on the bigger side, because I knew that this particular player are capable of making moves. I thought if I make it bigger here as standard he basically has to 4-bet call or fold pre every time.

GL bro!
04-24-2013 , 03:35 PM
You playing on euro tables or normal? Any zoom?

Think I remember your name + avatar from 50nl like 2 years ago or so.

Good luck at the tables
04-24-2013 , 03:54 PM
Also a point I have not touched into is the importance of shorter sessions. I think people are different. I know for myself that I play really good when I am stuck a lot, and very often gets unstuck from being stuck 5+ BIs.

Games: I play Euro and USD. I do not play zoom on my laptop. I might try NL 100 zoom later, but the swings are higher so for now I am sticking to normal tables. I'm going to only play on Stars. (Not sure if you meant Euro tables or sites) NL 100 is NL 100 I think whether its Euro or USD. Same regs and same recreational players.

Qazim: Yes I did infact grind out NL 50 in 2010. I probably was seen at 50 and 100 in 2011 and 2012 as well.

Got an assignment to hand in tonight so only playing a short session.

Last session:

Length: 1h11m

Hands: 980

Hands Won: 15.71% - Fairly low, but a few fishes in the games so couldn't get them off hands.

Profit: $109

AIEV: $247

That being said I did not run very well this session, but I did stay composed and even though I got 3-bet left and right, upside and down I didn't feel any tilt, I also lost a few big hands early in the session.

Did not bluff or pull any thing special out of the hat really. Here's a few coolers and standart spots for many of you. Seing that I am a nit from FR all of this is not standard. I forgot the $8 USD on river. Ooops.

River: ($93.16) 6 (2 players)
Hero bets $81.32, BB calls $81.32

Spoiler:
Final Pot: $255.80

Hero wins $253.00
(Rake: $2.80)

Poker Stars $0.50/$1 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players

UTG: $166.48
MP: $37.48
Hero (CO): $155.90
BTN: $102.62
SB: $206.35
BB: $128.30

This hand where I have queens is probably what many would say is standard. I would not say that though. I think I am folding TT and AQ here a lot. I do think my range vs his stack off range assuming JJ/TT is the bottom would be JJ or QQ and AK myself. I think it is important be a favorite vs their ranges so we don't end up playing 0EV game. As villain has blockers to JJ himself I would say he is a dog vs my range. I think I am 63% favorite here vs him here with my range, assuming I do not get in TT.

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is CO with Q Q
2 folds, Hero raises to $2.50, BTN raises to $9, 2 folds, Hero raises to $25, BTN raises to $102.62 all in, Hero calls $77.62

Flop: ($206.74) 4 7 2 (2 players - 1 is all in)

Turn: ($206.74) J (2 players - 1 is all in)

River: ($206.74) K (2 players - 1 is all in)

Spoiler:
Final Pot: $206.74
Hero shows Qd Qs (a pair of Queens)
BTN shows Jc Jh (three of a kind, Jacks)
BTN wins $203.94
(Rake: $2.80)

This hand is just a cooler. Just somewhat annoying that it happend that fast starting the first table. It is versus what I think is a solid regular, although I have not played too many hands with him he seems to be good. Also nice not grimming or leaving after he doubled.

Poker Stars $0.50/$1 No Limit Hold'em - 2 players

Flop: ($18.00) 5 9 4 (2 players)
Hero bets $12.60, BTN/SB raises to $28, Hero raises to $94.15, BTN/SB raises to $96.93 all in, Hero calls $1.13 all in

Spoiler:

BTN/SB shows 4d 4h (three of a kind, Fours)
BTN/SB wins $104.03
BTN/SB wins $104.03

But how did I end this session up?:

Spoiler:
Final Pot: $93.72
Hero shows 2d Ad (a flush, Ace high)
BTN mucks Ks Jd

(Rake: $1.50)

Luckily for me there was some weak competition and not only good regulars all over the place.

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is MP with J J

Turn: ($17.80) 7 (2 players)

Spoiler:
Final Pot: $77.80
Hero shows Js Jh (a pair of Jacks)
BTN mucks 8s 8d
Hero wins $75.00

I think I make villain fold river here betting any bigger, although he is a recreational player and a calling station. I was just somewhat surprised that he snapped with 2nd pear.

Turn: ($30.00) 7 (2 players)

Spoiler:
Final Pot: $46.00
BB mucks Kh Kd
Hero shows Ks Js (a flush, Ace high)

This hand I think I just played very bad. I think pre-flop is not that close though. I think that I should have C/R flop. The value-bet on the river questionable, but also very close. I might play one more session later on.

This is my sister. The true story is that I can be a degenerate when it comes to money. However it has to be an investment or some sort of upside. I am not the kind of guy that did gambles on slots or w/e. My sister and her BF at the time actually introduced me to poker X-mas 08/09. I was very sceptical, and after a few failed deposits of $50 I started to win at SNGs back at Party Poker.

I binked my first tourney on Stars in February 2009, a 2.75$ for $2030 ish bucks. So a little bit of credit to her and her ex BF.

You familiar with stock markets? Or is it just something you read/seen and are interested in?

I am familiar.

I have been investing, but I did not want the risk when I knew I was going to study and the pokers didn't go too well and I thought I was going to just live of savings and student loan.

I got rid of all my shares in 2012/2013. I did not sell everything at the same time, but a little bit over time just to even out variance.

I'm reading finance newspaper on a daily basis, and also analysis. I do know how to read balance sheets myself as we have done that both when I went to business uni. I'm in particular interested in investing in one shipping company. I'm not a trader though, I like the long-term investments. Moreover I do read shipping newspapers everyday as well.

Investing is something I would like to do besides poker and studies, but as I don't have a steady income I have decided to just be a "nit".
And avoid too much risk. I am going to play a massive volume of poker this summer so if I can make a decent amount I will just put it straight in a stock called Fronline 2012. (Going to be listed on Nasdaq in 2013 or 2014)

I've been fairly active in the stock-market since 2007.However I did learn a lot from my mistakes, there was a few. Not taking profits in time is one mistake I did.

Although I like the stock-market I am into the shipping market as well, as I am able to really get in depth of the shipping markets as I study this business in particular this is where I am looking to invest. When I study Maritime Business it's I get to know a lot of in-depth information that would be suitable for investing.

I'd also loved to own a shipping company or ships later on in life.

Well poker-wise I'm playing from the UK so no taxes on the poker income. There are taxes of 28% on Capital gains in Norway.
