Hi Everybody,

I'm a hobby grinder from Holland and have been playing for a couple years now. I've already made a attempt and a tread about this to move up in stakes. This was fullring and altough I did oke I lost track because I wasnt getting any feedback.

Here is the link

Sorry for my small amount of posts but I'm a real forum junky and I almost only read and never post. Oke so I'm from Holland 29 years old and I work as a technical adviser/ saleman on the back office. For more information I suggest you read the opening post of my first tread .

plan: I will go on where I left of and start with a 300$ bankroll but this time I will be playing 6max instead of full ring.

start at 16nl 6-max on pokerstars if it doesnt work I can move down.

300$ - 550 16nl
550$ - 1250 25nl ( make my first small shots with 1250$
and than we will see...

As software I will be using holdem manager 2, tiltbreaker ( witch I still have to set up ) and table ninja ( won't be using it accept some really small features )

after each session or day I will update this tread and will be including graphs and so on...

I have played almost 1900 hands right now and will be 4 tabling most of the time. learning to adjust to the game and just learn to play and beat the regulars.

Oke so I hope you guys will be following my progress and give me feedback on my hands that would be nice

Oww and here is something for you to keep things interesting

See you!!!

Hey there,

just played a small session on only 2 tables. was a bit tired from last night and didn't want to jinx my run.

played 291 hands and won $ 23,21 witch sets my bankroll at $381,-

Played well today and even got unlucky one time. played really tight and watched my openingreanges carefully.

I will play one more session tonight and set up tiltbreaker if I'm not to tired

        Hi everybody,

Things are going really well since my last update. I know I'm running hot but even EV adjusted things look good.

        Challange update:

        Total hands played: 4337
        Bankroll : $ 435
        total winnings : $135
        EV adjusted : $ 96,50
        BB/100 : 19,4
        BB/100 EV adjusted: 7,6

I've only played 16nl 6-max and still getting a feel for the game. I'm working hard on my game and I really try to tighten up and get my VPIP and PFR right.

Here are my session stats overall. as you can see I'm trying to tighten up and with the stats of the last 5 sessions i'm happy. still trying to tighten up more and be more agressive in the right spots. but i've the feeling things are looking better every session.

I dont play many hands because I usely 3 table, or 2 table's when I'm tired en really sometimes 4 tables but then I'm usely not agressive enought and dont steal as much.

Ow and here is my graph. I also displayed my showdown winnings and non showdown. to be honest I really don't know how to look at those lines.

Is my non showdown (redline) oke?

Oke so it's almost weekend so I will probely plat more hands

        See you at the tables!

        Hi 2+2,

Here is another update from my end.

Since my last update I've played the following sessions:

        1. +$18,47 in 47 minutes and 119 hands
        2. +$11,11 in 48 minutes and 159 hands
        3. +$13,18 in 41 minutes and 174 hands
        4. -$29,92 in 32 minutes and 104 hands

        5. +$11 played one hyper turbo 235fpp to sunday storm ( will play these with my fpp mostly after losing sessions to temper downswings on my bankroll.

Played really bad this last session. I was to excited to play so I was bluffing in the wrong spots, lost 1 stack ($16) in 1 bluff. and then lost a couple of small pots. couldn't hit and was OOP against whales and because i was to impatient I lost.

Oww and got a bit unlucky in one spot ( set vs. runner runner flush, check check river )

Oke so here is an overall challange update:

        Total hands played: 4893
Total Bankroll : $ 445 ( mis calculated my bankroll start last time )
        Total winnings 16nl: $147,86
        EV adjusted 16nl : $ 84,50
        BB/100 : 18,89
        BB/100 EV adjusted: 10,78

I know I've been running really hot so I expect to swing down a bit more soon and I'm feeling oke with that. i'm already getting the idea in my head that this run can't last so I won't feel bumped out if it does end.

The next update will be arround tomorrow I guess. Think I will play some sessions tonight and tomorrow if I feel like I'm in the mood, fresh and sharp.

        Good luck to you all.

        Greetings from Zwollywood

        Hi 2+2,

Here is a small update because allot has happend since the last update:

        Played 2 sessions today:

        1. +$16,27 in 195 hands
        2. - $22,27 in 62 hands ( tiltbreaker kicked in ) ( played bad: I called to much and they got the top of there range everytime )

played two sattelites again to the sunday storm 235fpp and won one.

        total played : 3
        won : +$22

I also had 3$ left on 888poker because I've played some tourneys there. the fields are smaller and softer then stars so its easier to get deep. Did very well there but tourneys aren't my thing.

Turned it into $21 by playing some cash and won a hyper STT. cashed it out to add it to the bankroll.

Oke so what the total you might ask:

        Total Bankroll : $ 470
        Total hands played: 5150 (16nl)
        Total winnings 16nl: $141,86
        EV adjusted 16nl : $ 96,73
        BB/100 : 17,22
        BB/100 EV adjusted: 11,74

Here is an view of my sessions played at 16nl:

        Hi,

thank you for your reactions . Oww did one session + 7,09 but will at it to the reports tomorrow.

        @Pitapita

Don't really know to be honest. I have the feeling that if I play too long that I will lose my concentration and then dump my winnings of that session away.

I have set tiltbreaker like this:

The tables will lock down in 3 min after I lose 25$ or more. Then I can't play for 45 minutes. this is enough to cooldown and go do something else. This way I'm not temped to make up for my losses. I just want to play the best I can the whole 45 minutes.

After 45 min. 3 min I have to shot down the tables. then it lock's it down for 5 minutes. After that I can play again.

Also this way stacks will never get really deep. max. +- 200bb in one session per table. Misstakes will cost my less money this way. instead of being up 4 buyins after a 3 hour session en then lose it in one hand against a reg in a kind of set up.

This way I can focus on playing one or two sessions per evening and things will never get really out of hand. on the other hand if I really want to play I can wait the 5 minutes and start new tables up again. But then Im usely fresh again and looked at how I played that last session.

I have two goals and that is to get better at poker and with that being a winning player and also I want to grow my bankroll as steady but fast as posible with trying to keep variance on the low side.

        @ Blinkas18

Thank you. You're right I shoudnt really worry about that.

        And to thank you

Don't you get tilted by tiltbreaker telling you to quit if you're on good tables?

        01-11-2014 , 11:22 PM
        No not really.

One time I had the feeling that I was missing out on something . But on the other hand. on 16nl there are always tables to find with atleast one fish on it.

bad session again. -18$. EV adjusted -8,50. played good do. only I f*ckt up my aces again fish VS top two pair on the flop. 10s,8s,3 and it went in for stakes.

Oke so I've put the totals togetter for just today. Tomorrow I will show the rest.

Played a total of 5 sessions today ( since I woke up atleast )

        1. $ 29 104hands
        2.+16,27 195 hands
        3. -$22,27 62 hands
        4. +7.09 190 hands
        5. -$18,00 141 hands

        today's total 16nl: -$46,83

        bankroll savers:

        888poker money +$21
        Sattelite sunday storm +$11

        Today's overall total: -14,83

So the satt. and the money from 888 saved the day bankroll wise. Was up 42$ yestersdays total so can't really complain.

        Good night.

        Greetings

Why are you playing 16nl? It's so dam reg infested and really hard to calculate pot odds and big blinds.. to much hassle for me lol

Just go from 10nl to 25nl imo.. If the stack size is a problem play some 10nl deep 250bb buyin to help ease you into it. Best of luck

        Hi guys,

Here is an overall big update from my end.

        Reactions (Thanks really appreciated)

        @ddleroy
Haha maybe you,re right but it sure is spiking up the tread a bit more instead of just graphs and numbers.

        @ youfaiil
I dont know. found it on google

        @ thej92
I know there are a lot of regulars but I'm of one of them now haha. There is still planty of fish that walks by.

On the other hand on 10nl and 25nl there are just as much regulars. I think learning to play against them will help me for the 25nl. And because there are less regs it is easier to get hands on them and identify them as soon as I sit down.

I should really start making notes on these regulars. Because most regs I've got 300 hands + on. Seen my total number of hands this is very much for these low stakes.

One step forward to getting better:
I've paid 20$ and subscribed to grinderschool. my plan is to stay a member for one month and download everything and watch it. if I really like it I maybe stay a member but at this point that was not the plan. I like the content and for what I've seen from other sites then I think that you will get good value for your money.

Because poker is a hobby I decided to not take this out of my bankroll. I dont really like doing that and for a hobby I think 20$ is oke to spend

Oke so here is an overall update:

Oke since the last "real" update I've played 4 sessions.

        1. +$7,09 in 190 hands
        2. -$18,00 in 141 hands bad session again.EV adjusted -8,50. played good. only I f*ckt up my aces again fish VS top two pair on the flop.
        3. -$3.54 in 158 hands (nothing really happend, played well. was up 2$ to 5$ all session. had to lay down 3 hands in the end.)

        Days played : 12 ( including today )
        Startroll : $ 290,00
        Total Bankroll : $ 455,50
        Winnings : $ +165,50

        Total hands played: 5639 (16nl)
        Total winnings 16nl: +$127,41
        EV adjusted 16nl : $ 88,26
        BB/100 : 14,12
        BB/100 EV adjusted: 9,78

        Satts: 3 played, cashed 2: +22
        Extra 888 money : +21
Lost to setting up : -$4

Here is my graph of my main game 16nl 6-max:

Oke so it looks like the run good has come to an end haha. No, i dont know. played a few bad sessions latley and got a bit unlucky with draws not hitting and running into the top of villians range.

I'm still feeling good about the challange, my progress learning curve at 6-max reguler tables (played allot of rush/zoom for allong time and also STT/MTT, but rush was my maingame. Quitt because of 10 buyin swings or more dailey is not my thing) just looking for the old time grind just like the way I started back in the days.

I think I will play two more sessions today.

        See you later

Oke, so I've watched some video's and made a starting handchart from them. Will use this as a guideline and the rest will ofcourse depent on the villian.

Like the video's alot since there all quite new and not out dated.

Maybe play one more session tonight.

              Hi 2+2,

              Here is a quick udate.

              Sessions
Oke played 3 sessions since last update:

              1. -$31,94 (as told) in 158 hands
              2. +$11,33 in 109 hands
              3. + $22,56 in 540 hands

              Overall
              Days played : 13 ( including today )
              Startroll : $ 290,00
              Total Bankroll : $ 457,45
              Winnings : $ +167,45

              Overall 16nl
              Total hands played: 6833 (16nl)
              Total winnings 16nl: +$129,36
              EV adjusted 16nl : $ 102,37
              BB/100 : 11,88
              BB/100 EV adjusted: 9,40

Extra to make the total correct
              Satts: 3 played, cashed 2: +22
              Extra 888 money : +21
Lost to setting up : -$4

Oke, so things have gone oke.

Did run 10$ below EV all session long ( the last $22+ session). was up and down all the time.

In the end I did oke because I got a gold star tilted. after the hand I had TT and he reraised to $2,80 in went all in and he called A8. First or second hand after that I had AK decided to play it the same and it worked out the same he had A5s.

So he saved my session and was running even with EV that session again haha thats how fast it can go even do I was infront both times.

I think I'm on the right track. play 3 tabled steady now and have my tiltbreaker setup diverently, now I dont be stopped by time but I get notivications instead . Also have my startinghands sheet there. don't look at it mutch but sometime's I take a quick peak again.

So this is it will post graph's and nive photo's up tomorrow.

              Greetings from Zwollywood

why r u bothering so much about ev? It's a long run thing. One session u might be above, one session under, but in the end it will be about the same. If u r cuious, ofc u can check it, same as win showdown winnings, but u shouldn't make analysis based on those lines

              Hi There,

              @ Blinkas18

Good Question! Well I know it's a long term thing but on the other hand I can get a good feeling at the end of a session if runned well or not because what I remember I can see in my graph as well.

This last session for instance. Was up about 6 / 10 $ all session and made a mistake that put me back to zero. After that Some guy go's allin 7$ and he is steamy so I call with AJ he has A3 and spikes his 3 on the turn. I could for a long time during that session that is was -4 but EV- +2 so I can tell myself oke no biggy. got onlucky and still doing oke.

beside this all you can really see when I was running really hot but if you look at my overall red line ( EV) then it show a bit swingy but a constant upwards line.

This is really inspiring because I know it's only been +- 7000 hands but it give me the feeling that I can beat this thing in the long run.

Even with me working on my game more. with watching video's and making notes.

              Current Graph:

              ------------------------------------------------------------

So I've played one more session sincy my last update.

It was a bit swingy but was up for most of the session. Then I made a stupid small mistake / bluff witch set me back to zero.

Lost AJ vs. A3 against whale $14 pot so no biggy. Got it anyway from his later on with TT pre flop against A8ss.

So ended the session with + 4$ overall in 180 hands.

Happy with that! third winning session in a row. Have the feeling that I'm starting improve abit.

My Vpip is oke now but my my PFR is to low compaired to that. over the last 3 session average: VPIP 20,7% PFR 14,6%. been really tight on some tables and loser on the other. My 3 bet is 7,1%

              See you later.

              Greetings

              Hi guys,

              Here is a sad update.

              1 session -$32,26

Was break even for the first part of the session and then got it in pre with KK against AA against a loose agressive player. don't think I can fold that pre without any special reads.

groveris: shows [Kh Kc] (a pair of Kings)
              Evgol collected $29.22 from pot

After this hand i couldn't get anything going and was making bad moves. Played really bad in the end and tiltbreaker kicked in (25$) but at that time I was still in one pot witch I lost so thats why I'm even further down

Not really happy with how I've played and should have stopped when things didn't turn arround.

Maybe play one more session later on the evening.

              Greetings

              5. +$22,86 in 212 hands

              Overall
Days played : 14 ( including today )( started playing on the 3th)
              Startroll : $ 290,00
              Total Bankroll : $ 472,37
              Winnings : $ +172,37

              Overall 16nl
              Total hands played: 7725 (16nl)
              Total winnings 16nl: +$144,28
              EV adjusted 16nl : $ 145,51
              BB/100 : 11,7
              BB/100 EV adjusted: 11,77

Extra to make the total correct
              Satts: 3 played, cashed 2: +22
              Extra 888 money : +21
Lost to setting up : -$4

Oke, so things are going really well. I still manage to make my bankroll grow and I've almost cleared a bonus of 10$ to add to my bankroll (next session I think).

So I'm getting closer and closer to the 500 mark. My plan is to grind to adleast 550 before taking any short at the 25nl. I've I drop down to 500 I will grind it back on the 16nl again ( or lower if nessesary ). When I hit 500$ and above, I don't want to be dropping down below A $400 bankroll so this will leave me some room on the 16nl if I drop down abit.

Ive watched and downloaded some video's but I must admit that the site has really good value for your money and if you play may stakes and games it fits nice. ( yep ive seen DC and cardrunners, and no I do not have any futher contact with them). I've got a lot of DC video's collected over the years but I had the feeling that they where outdated so that was one of the main reasons for joining. They pop out new video's on a dailly bases

Still need learn a lot to and still have trouble with some regs so I think the first buyíns on the 25nl will be hard enough. But I think for my first serieus attempt to beat any 6-max game I'm doing oke. Stil have a insane high winrate do with 11bb/100

              Here is my graph now:

Very happy with my progress and how it looks in the graph. It gives me convidence and inspiration to keep up this thread and keep on grinding my A game and dont abort the challange.

What do you guys think... Can i beat this in the long run or is to early to tell?

              Here is something for you
