Boring and frustrating autopilot grinding at ongame for the past few days and tilting after every cooler at nl200 where one stack is what used to be one 3-bet for me few months ago.¨



Last night i headed to casino to play some nl 5/5 hoping to win a buy in or two and just to take my mind off of this boring internet grind. There was this one gambler who was the reason that 5/5 was running (which is rare). He played 90% of his hands and the only way for him to play is to raise it big pre and bet a lot postflop. They had live straddle circling so the game was basically 5/10. I bought in for 1k and for 30 minutes i just folded all the 29o junk i was getting and remembered how boring live poker was. Finally i got into action and managed to win some decent pots. I have to admit that i ran pretty damn great..

UTG limps, folds to gambler at SB who makes it to 50. I call on BB with 78s, UTG calls. Flop Q52ss. Gambler checks (rare) i bet 100 UTG calls, SB folds. Turn offsuit K bet 240 UTG call. River 9s (Yes!) i tank a bit and shove for about 700. Villain calls quickly, mucks and leaves.

Gambler raises ~40 from MP i make it 120 with QQ on the BTN. Gambler raises and i shove for around 1k. He's tanking and running his show for a while and finally calls. QKKxx and he shows 82s

Gambler was taking a break and some nit refused to straddle because of it.. CO raises 20 and i pick up the nuts otb (65s). I raise to 60 and he makes it 180. Flop 258 CO bets 150 i call. Turn 6 (Yes!) two fd's on board and he panic shoves 700 with AA and i scoop it with blank river.

Besides losing one 2k flip everything was going great. Had few drinks and was up few k's so my mood was pretty good. All of the sudden time has passed so fast that casino is closing and dealer is announcing that the next hand is going to be the last. Now this gambler was running fantastic and is sitting with the biggest stack. Besides winning against AA with Aks and winning / losing many "flips" he had won one ~6k pot flopping flush with 34s with big preflop action 3-way.

UTG straddles and there was maybe 3 blind limps. Unraised to me otb and i make it to 200 (lolsizing ) with JJ. Folds to Gambler who is last to act in the last hand of the night so of course he is going to defend his blind limp. He thinks for a moment and makes it 725. I Shove pretty fast for around 4.3k. Gambler thinks a while and we start negotiating. There are maybe 15 people railing us talking about should he call or not. Finally he calls. Pot is now 8.6k which is a lot for me so my heart was pounding pretty hard. Board runs T36Q6 and he says he's got a full house. I open my JJ and after mumbling a bit he throws his 29o to the middle.

Apparently taking pictures is prohibited at the casino, but i managed to quickly snap one crappy pic of my "stack" after the final pot. Blacks are 1k and rest 5-100.

Hi guys. I've been playing more or less every day and things seem to be slowly turning around

I'm graduating next week and after that i got rest of the year to have fun and player poker before having to go to army. Really excited about the summer. I wan't to make as much $ as possible with poker, but at the same time i wan't to have a lot of fun. Unfortunately can't have them both, but will do my best to balance them. I'm probably going to few local festivals and maybe a trip or two abroad. Maybe to play some live poker and hangout somewhere warm or to a festival, like Tomorrowland. Due to our appartments pipe repairs we are having to move to somewhere for few months. I've been thinking about Malta as there are many poker players, it's in EU and the weather is nice. So it might be a good idea to make a short trip there to see what that place is like.

Anyways i played well and had great results today playing mostly 500z. Might even get this month to even if i'm lucky.

Mind explaining the KQo hand on the 3A3 board?

Thanks. Villain actually checks on every street, no idea why it doesn't read in that hh. Anyways on such a dry board i'm betting 100% of my range with small sizing. Villain for some reason decides to x/r this board on the flop which is very suspicious. For trips or better he only has A3s and with only Ax i'm sure he would be only calling as it makes most sense. We have nut no pair hand and if we folded everything except pairs to his x/r we would be super exploitable. on the turn i'm still not believing him. It looks like he's thinking we are folding our floats on the turn which is possible if i had a hand like 56s. On the river when he checks it's basically 100% giveup. Our hand has good showdown value but incase he hit a pair on the river i'm shoving it since i think he's folding 100% of the time.

Makes alot more sense if we would been shown the checks indeed. But thanks for explanation looking forward to more of these hhs.

I actually lost almost 10k after last update :O Had great live action on friday playing 5/5 deep. Lost AK vs AA, JJ vs KK and one 600bb preflop allin with my aces against villains 32h rivering a straight Ended up losing 5k€ and after that i had pretty bad run at ongames 1k tables. Losing that much in like 30 hours sucks, but somehow it hasn't affected my mood at all, i feel great.

Today i played mostly 500z with some ongame regular tables on the side. It's going okayish, could be better.

Great thread. Love the hands. How do you find ongames toughness compared to stars? Which skin do you play on?

Stars is the toughest site i've played at and ongame is pretty much the softest Problem with ongame is that the traffic is almost non existent at nl400+. I would go as far as saying that ongames nl1k is easier to beat than stars nl100.

Took 2 days off of work and played a lot of poker. I usually don't play too long sessions, but since i was doing good i forced myself to play more. I knew that i was doing good, but i had no clue how good, until i checked my graph for the past days. Something like 80% of my volume came from 500z and rest from hu and 6-max reg tables.

I'm not sure how good my play is. I was hoping that he'd fold AK or AQ and i thought that it's rly hard for him to have 4x. With trips it's easy call for him, at least against me. I would not make this play again in this specific spot because i think that we are bluffing against too narrow of a range, villain is UTG cbetting against 2 ppl and then 3 barreling, which is quite strong play.

Hey, just finished reading the entire thread and it's good, haven't gotten myself around to replaying the hands, but I will. You should consider getting a mental game coach given your situation. I would suggest a guy called Elliot Roe. He will be able to put your mind back in the state it should be in. Make you aware of things you're unaware of now, that are costing you a lot of money. For example in a lot of your updates you keep mentioning that you are one of the unluckiest guys in the world, I know you're not serious, but it will still effect your mindset at the tables and off.

I'm only 21 and I know it's hard to handle all the glory and being very good at something with so much will and power to just win and crush the game. But, you're only 18, you shouldn't push things. There is more than enough time for you to make it the top. Just enjoy life, spend your time well and keep your head high! Best of luck this year fellow countrymen

I usually never blame anything but myself and i feel a bit shamed about all my whining. In the grand scheme of things i am probably luckier than 90% of the people in this world and that is something to appreciate. This year i had few stretches of hands where i was extremely unlucky, my run had been the worst i had experienced after 1m~ played hands and i just couldn't handle it mentally.

There is some sort of hurry since games are slowly dying and less and less money is to be made, but i get your point and i have been in a bit too hurry to get to the top and that's the reason i have lost most of my bankroll few times, but i'd rather get to the top or go busto trying than grind midstakes for the rest of my life.

I can't give any reasoning to neither of these hands other than instinct and feeling. In the first hand i still remember how strong feel i had that villain was on a busted draw because of his timings and this line he took.

Maybe try stud or Omaha ?
