Not to much to update on the mtt front. Still not played a session yet and itching to get back on it.

Looks like I will prob have to give sunday a miss as well due to the new baby.....

I have been playing some 2-7TD and I am pretty sure i suck hard at the game and currently i look to be losing -1bb/100.
I am prob playing way to high for my ability at the moment playing 1/2 through to 2/4.
But, I am sure that there are huge fish (bigger than me) in the games making massive mistakes.

If any good triple draw guys who follow this thread I would love discuss the game with you.

In fact I would happily exchange some mtt coaching for a experienced triple draw players coaching

Gl all if ur playing this weekend

Re: From midstakes fish to HSMTT crusher ;)

Sunday

First one back since the baby was born and it was ok ish I geuss. I cut a few of my normal higher buy ins just because I felt like I would be rusty (and I was). I missed a bunch of spots and took quite a few others that I shouldn't have done versus some good players

Results were meh, I think I only had one FT which was a $55 FO on 888 came 9th, went super deep in both the (new?) french majors last 100 or so and imploded in one sigh.
Best run was the $100k on 888 where I ended up 19th but was 1/30 so kinda tilted I didn't do better with it. No idea how much I even cashed for but can't have been more than 6 or 700.

In ither news had a session with a good triple draw player today, he wants to work on his mtt game and develop it and I want to not be a fish at Triple draw so its a good coachign exchange. We covered some spots he had issues with and I think he got a lot out of it.
Will be reviewing a video i recorded of me playing 2/7TD so be interested as to how much I suck

Not sure if I will play tonight, chiilin dude informed me that Civilzation has a huge offer on all the expansion packs (such a geek ) and I am tempted to play the hell out of one of them today

Hey man, read your thread every now and again and was curious as to how you balance your family life with grinding mtt's for a living, when the hours grinding are soo long and peak times in uk are evenings and weekends.

Congrats on the bink btw

well its pretty easy to balance I think, just have to make sure you do balance

So first off I always take friday/saturday off as a weekend and make sure that I do something with my daughter on a friday and we do family stuff during the day on sat.

In the week its pretty simple I mean I play Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday and occasionally a monday. Wednesday I teach most of the day and early evening so I have some free time then. After sunday I definately think Tuesday is the most important day for playing followed by thursday hence why they are my main days.
Also I will often play more schedule, since I play 4 or 5 sites I can still find enough mtt's across all the sites that I want.

I can then spend the evening with my wife which is nice and for example often on a Wed morning we go to the cinema (they do special showings for people with babies) or out for lunch (oldest daughter is at the minders that day)

The main thing is that flexibility is the key, theres always games so you can move playing around to fit your life.

Re: From midstakes fish to HSMTT crusher ;)

Still not back to playing full time MTT yet as life has been so hetic

Just a quick update though on my group of guys I am working with. They are starting to have some real results and I am pretty please with the progress of everyone

TVD who you may know from this thread has been playing a ton and making lots of FT's which is pleasing, and I had another student come 3rd in the big 8 yesterday

group progress so far since I been coaching them

The great thing is that we are having prob 2/3 FT every day at least, in fact I think we might have even got to 10 the other day

I am also working on a couple of other projects that I am super excited about, and of course donating at mixed games

Re: From midstakes fish to HSMTT crusher ;)

been playing some 9 mans the odd 180 man and just started with some low stake cap mtts. With a new stable in which ive ran badly recently but havent put in as much volume as I would like.

Also trying to sort money for the up and coming UKIPT and DTD deepstack. Thinking of going to Australia for 6 months and the end of September. Got lots of stuff I want to do but nothing concrete yet. everything requires $$$$!!!

Wife went away for the weekend so I could get some work in!

Not a bad start yesterday, won a $50 fo on party for about 1.5k, came 6th (i think, can't remember) in the 8 cube on stars, 15th in the $22 big ante on stars, 14th in 22r on party, 19th in some rando small 22 on party.

Also had another deep run in the $22 cube on stars (30th or something), but spewed off when I misjudged mr. Brimlow's cold 4 ball (his good but very spewy) as a move and got it in with 99 v JJ. Was kinda annoying as it's one of my fav mtt's and I really want to win it outright (chopped once, and 5/7/8 place finishes).

All in all ended up about +2k for the day which is a solid day for sure.

Also working on a little project at the moment which I am super excited about and will reveal more later

Gl if ur playing
