Greetings everyone, I decided to start keeping track of my progress in the form of a forum thread so other people can give me advice.

My poker career began with Bovada where I started playing 5nl 10nl and 25nl zone. I wasted around $300 experimenting and trying my damnedest to master zone but failed and have quit zone entirely. Losing around $300 was not a big deal to me because I typically spend $20 on games, beer, etc and just considered spending poker money as an investment that would allow me to learn and if I never got better at poker no big deal. I would either triple my bank roll one day or lose everything one day, the variance was too much for me.

I now play regular NL Texas Holdem at tables with 9 max players. I deposited $20 like two weeks ago and am up to $100 now. I have been playing with the minimum buy in on 4 tables. I started at 5nl and now play 10nl. I average $4-$15 dollars an hour depending on how fishy the tables are or how lucky I am and how few mistakes I make. I don't really use a short stack strategy, but playing short stacked has been working so I am just not messing with success.

I have been thinking about switching to a site that will allow me to play more tables. I am thinking about switching to carbon poker. I have played on Betonline and Americas cardroom as well as bovada but I think carbon may be the best choice to switch to assuming I will be able to handle more than 4 tables.

I will be posting videos and interesting situations that I get into.

My biggest issue at the moment is playing for long sessions (over two hours) once about two hours go by I start getting fatigued and get scared to keep playing due to increased mistakes from being tired and bored.

Planning on giving 25nl a try at around $300 bankroll

My current skill set

I use this chart for which hands I play at certain positions http://www.pokerology.com/charts/nlh...ands-chart.pdf

I will often bet dry boards where I have nothing, as long as there are no more than 2 other players in the pot, I usually only do it if there is one player.

I isolate limpers

I always make notes on every single player at each table at some point. Who is limping, betting dry boards, dangerous players that often all in or reraise, suspected fish and sharks, will a player that checks often fold to a raise etc

I haven't really tried 6 max games

I don't try and figure out a players hand range, I guess because it hasn't been all that necessary at tables with 9 players. I just try and figure out if a player hit something like two pair or a set.

Planning on buying holdem indicator

Current bankroll $126

Haven't been playing very much but I've played 5nl full ring with a full stack the past couple days. Made $7 today. Would have made $17 but busted a table twice. Got unlucky with QQ then totally screwed up and didn't realize some fish was chasing a flush draw and then he hit the flush on the river and I called a big bet on the river with top pair. I called because it had been like 2 hours and I was mentally fatigued and decided to end the session there since I was too tired to think. I need advice on how to play long sessions without getting fatigued. I suppose the best way is to just keep playing longer and longer sessions and my brain will adapt to it but any tips would be good. I got used to playing 4-6 hours + of starcraft 2 but that wasn't ever an issue because losing had no consequences so even if I started making mistakes I could keep playing.

I just downloaded the poker tracker trial on my desktop. I need to import more hands from my laptop. These hands start from june 1st I think. This graph does not include zone. It is all hands from full ring 5nl and 10nl

I think the other graph didn't load everything due to an error or whatever or I had the dates wrong maybe. but now it seems to be showing everything from 5nl and 10nl. When the graph starts going up is right after I busted it seems and then deposited another $20. I dont remember busting playing regular tables so Im confused, Ive busted in zone plenty though but I guess the last time I busted I was playing regular tables.

I think I'm going to stay at 5nl for a while and stick to playing with a full stack.

This graph only includes 5nl and 10nl from when I made the most recent deposit of $20. The graph above doesnt show that I busted but I believe I was in zone when I busted last. I must be on a heater or something because 28/100 seems odd.

Gave 5nl zone a try today and lost 7 dollars, sigh. Watched a few zone vids and was in the mood but I got coolered pretty hard and stopped. Then I played 10nl full ring full stacked with 4 tables and made $28 in 2 and a half hours. Current bank roll $147

Played 10nl for like an hour and a half today. Will probably play more later. Made $19, completely rekt a guy that had QhQs and i had AcKh and a board with Ah2h5h he jammed and I called and I won a $19 pot. Had 2 interesting spots that I will post tomorrow when bovada lets me see the hands. Current bank roll $166. I should stay at 5nl but 10nl is too damn tempting when I do this well, if I play more today Ill probably play 5nl due to brain fatigue

Zone graph. About 20k of the hands are from 5nl zone the rest are 10nl and 25nl zone

I have no idea what the problem is but apparently my biggest leak is-
Stat: Fold to Flop Continuation Bet %
Percentage of the time that a player folds to a flop bet given that the bettor was the last raiser preflop.
Formula: Number of Times Player Folded to a Continuation Bet on the Flop / Number of Times Player Could Fold to a Continuation Bet on the Flop
Your Value: 64.85
Determination:
NEEDS IMPROVEMENT

I guess I get bluffed a lot but I almost never can tell when someone is bluffing in zone because literally everyone in zone bluffs as far as I can tell.

Played about an hour and a half of 10nl made $21. No interesting spots just obvious I'm going to win spots. Bankroll $187. Played some headsup $1 games earlier. Faced the same guy like 4 or 5 times. Pretty sure I was the better player but he got really lucky a few times so I lost 2 or 3 times to him but he was a decent player. I might start playing heads up a lot more often.

Pretty bad session today, I did some stupid plays and also had some pretty horrendous luck a few times. I busted like 3 times but also more than doubled up on 2 tables so Im not sure what to think about todays session. Down $21 bankroll $173. Ill link the session when twitch shows the broadcast in the list. I actually had gotten up to $200 bank roll at one point but then things went bad.

4 hour long session http://www.twitch.tv/the_reginald/b/674243099

Bad session yesterday. Hadnt got enough sleep the past few days so I was too tired to play but I did anyway and played horribly and lost like $30 in 3 hours. Then got enough sleep today played for an hour made $20. Yesterdays session was odd because I got quad jacks 3 times and sets and trips of jacks.

Ive had some up and down sessions. Didnt get enough sleep a few times so Im sure that was a lot of the problem. Been playing heads up and 6 max at 5nl a few times. Im going to deposite like $100 to americas card room soon and im going to give multi-tabling more than 4 tables at the 6 max games a try. My desktop screen can fit 18 tables when tiled so Ill start with 6 tables than add more and more until I cant handle more.

Up about $17 today from playing heads up and 5nl 6 max. Bankroll 196. I dont know if Ill continue streaming the grind sessions because I dont like the distraction of talking with viewers but I wont quit streaming poker altogether.

Been having a ****ty time playing 6 max 5nl. Either break even or make a couple dollars after a few hours. Today I busted two tables but later on had stacks of 3-4 buyins. At some point in the near future I will pay someone for coaching. Heads up is going pretty well. On the $1.10 sitngos I have a good win rate so far. Since I started keeping track Im at 8 wins 1 loss. Just stacked a guy at a hu 5nl cash table. Really enjoying heads up a lot. I find it much more fun to do than 4 table grinding full ring and 6max. Br 185

Played heads up today. More than I ever have in one day I think. Each number = the buy in cost of the hu sng. I played some other things too but didnt keep track but Im up like $12 for the day.
Win 3 1 3 3 3 3 3 1 5 1 5 3
Loss 1 1 1 3 3 5

Bank roll $197

Been playing off and on. Bank roll still around $200. Ive played around like 300 heads up $3 sng's and think its a lot of fun but have been getting ****ing destroyed by variance. I go up against tons of loose aggressive fish that do stupid stuff like 3 betting trash preflop and then they end up hitting their outs even though I was ahead on the flop etc etc. And its come to the point where Ive decided to just quit hu because apparently I need a way bigger bankroll to cover this god damn luck factor. So **** it back to 9max and 6max from here on out. Im back at college and will keep playing poker for fun and for a little extra cash hopefully. Im really aggravated at my bad luck in hu because I really enjoy hu a lot. Id post an updated graph but wasnt able to transfer the stats to my laptop. Also I bought poker tracker 4.

got my ******* resized about yay O big in a nice 10nl downswing where i lost like $60. i may just limit playing poker to an hour or less a day just for the sake of playing for fun cause ****in hell playing for long periods is becoming pointless

well i looked up hands from the downswing and had some typical ****ty situations but also made terrible plays in a few spots so it was more of bad play than variance, thats what i get for playing past midnight and being tired while playing i suppose. i actually feel a lot better knowing i lost the money due to bad plays rather than bad luck. me being tired and playing bad can be overcome and dealt with but nothing i can do about bad luck.

This graph is from when I went back to college on 8/24 and just shows 8/24 to now at 5nl, but before the downswing yesterday at 10nl. I played some 10nl before that but this graph doesnt show it.

This graph includes everything from 8/23 to now. It has mostly 5nl 9 max, some 5nl 6max of 600 hands, some 10nl where I did pretty good, and then the downsing at 10nl 9 max yesterday. I was doing so good ffs lol

In lighter news I got a royal flush the other day.
