Re: The Life upswings and downswings of a 6 max hyper grinder

Ok so I've decided to move up and only play 30s now. I had a brief jump to them before and now I'm returning. Hopefully things go well and I don't take too much of a beating in the beginning. I'm gonna put out a list of goals for this month that I hope to meet. Some reasonable, some probably not so much.

Reasonable:

[ ] Play 8k 30s with at least a 1% EV ROI

[ ] Cook at least 2 meals a week inside my house

[ ] Only go out 3 nights a week

[ ] Find a non expensive hobby to do when I'm not grinding

[ ] Set a working budget and stick to it

[ ] Spend at least 7 hours a week reviewing HHs

Not so reasonable:

[ ] Play 10k 30s with an EV ROI of at least 2%

[ ] Move to 60s by the end of the month.

[ ] Commit to going for SNE

GL in June everybody, gogogogogo!

Re: The Life upswings and downswings of a 6 max hyper grinder

Bah, obv on my first day back in 30s I run absolutely terrible. Suuuuper standard. Didn't feel like I was playing that great either but it could just be I was running into tops of ranges all day. Upside is I got decent volume in (played a little over 7 hours) so now I'm gonna go to sleep for awhile. Hopefully things will turn around tomorrow.

My garph for today:

My total sample of 30s so far:

Ouch! Kinda sucks that it seems like whenever you move up, the downswong is almost inevitable. Keep on truckin, gl.

I know lol, seems unavoidable. Almost to the point of me being superstitious about it.

Re: The Life upswings and downswings of a 6 max hyper grinder

So, looks like volume may end up being a fail today. OmgClaydol is coming to Vancouver for a couple days and is gonna be stayin here, so I had to do a little cleaning. Only got about 120 games so far but I will try to get in some more later. Having him here grinding will hopefully be a good incentive for me to get my grind on as well. Had a pretty interesting hand from this morning so i thought I'd post it since it seemed a little nonstandard.

    Poker Stars, $28.83 Buy-in (10/20 blinds, 2 ante) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite. View Hand #13044031

    BTN: 500 (25 bb)
    Hero (SB): 500 (25 bb)
    BB: 500 (25 bb)
    UTG: 500 (25 bb)
    MP: 500 (25 bb)
    CO: 500 (25 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A 2
4 folds, Hero raises to 40, BB calls 20

    Flop: (92) 5 4 3 (2 players)
Hero bets 40, BB raises to 100, Hero raises to 180, BB raises to 458 and is all-in, Hero calls 278 and is all-in

    Turn: (1,008) 9 (2 players, 2 are all-in)
    River: (1,008) A (2 players, 2 are all-in)

    Spoiler:

Get the Flash Player to use the Hold'em Manager Replayer.

Villain is a decent reg and although we've played a fair amount of games here, I've never taken this line with him before, so for him to 4bet bluff air here seemed pretty crazy. But this hand made me start wondering if I should be looking to take this line post flop as a bluff sometimes since I'm pretty aggro in terms of preflop raises and cbetting so naturally people try to pick off my cbets with raises frequently. Obv if people are going to 4bet air into me, then I shouldn't be, but I think villains taking this line would be far out of the norm instead of the standard. I just don't know if clicking it back would ever really get people to lay down 2nd pair type hands. Anyway, more later after I finish games for the day.

wtf that has to be misread or somthing. I dont see regs getting out of line often enough for a complete bluff like that to work. But liek you said, makes you think.
