I just did an update for Month of June that included this year's full results (See few posts above, or ill just quote it below)

But quick summary of Bovada lifetime:

Up about 52k over 3.8k Mtts.

First Mtt i played on Bovada was September 2012 and took me 10 months just to play 1k mtts. Was playing very casually but putting in quality play when i played. Made about 5k in that time. Then i hit the 23k Score in June 2013, followed by 4k score the following week. Didn't put in big volume rest of year, just broke even on mtts (Made 10k on pokerstars though and another 15k on Bovada in Cash Games).

Quit working real world job in August. Had money saved from poker and work and just relaxed rest of year living in Mexico playing on stars and in California doing absolutely nothing.

Went full Pro January.

Have played 2.4k Mtts just this year alone and i plan to put in around another 3k Mtts by the end of the year. So ill prob end up with close to 90k on bovada lifetime by end of year (~70k this year alone). Pretty huge considering the ABI on Bovada and the fact that i really only started grinding full time in January. Not quite Baller status but if i can break 90k profits in all poker investments for first year as full time pro ill call it a huge success (Im already at 45k).

Big Score is starting to look smaller and smaller the more i keep crushing and pushing upwards

This puts just right ahead of pace for a 100k year. Currently at ~45k profit for the year, but given my rising bankroll and the fact that I'm going to be playing a lot more cash games i should be increasing my hourly quite significantly.

2014 Month To Month

Ok So its been 6 months and Its time for a comprehensive review of my year so far.

But before i write up a TL: DR report, Id like to see what stats or info you guys are most interested in knowing about. Maybe specific stats on how often I'm cashing (in %), or my daily routine when I'm playing a full session? Things like that. Any piece of info you think is interesting and might help you to improve as a player. Im not saying by any means i do everything right, but i think that i've learned a TON this year so far, my first year as a 'Pro' and id like to share as much specific content i can with you guys so u can see what it takes to succeed in the long run in this game.

So Ask away, and ill answer them all in my next TL: DR report for the first half of 2014.

i actually have a lot of questions about your graphs

you track great statistics and i think it's crucial to great success because it continuously motivates you to make those stats jump on the spread sheet.

how do you set it up? can you help me make a stat tracker on excel?

We were taught basic things in excel when i was in 6th grade (15 years ago) and those are the only skills i know to this day so its a pretty simple set up. I just log every mtt i play, the buy in, the result (In $ and if i cashed, what place i cashed in), and then the results of all mtts. Not too hard to do. I categorize days and months. And then i create the graphs from this info.

A lot of people have been asking me how to do this and honestly with a bit of effort u can figure it out on your own its really not hard. It just takes a lot of time and dedication to do it every single time you play and not miss a single mtt. My graph is at least 99% accurate because i check and recheck every result.

But a word of advice, if u can't get these simple things done, its gonna be hard to succeed at poker. Im not saying they correlate exactly, but a poker player who is successful has their whits about them and can figure out how to make things work for them in whatever way suits him best. Everything can be solved now a days (at least simple things like setting up excel and graphs) with the simple click of the button on google and some time and dedication.

If u still need help u can add me on Skype: AlexDuque25 and we can chat about it.

I also track using Bovada HH converter to convert hands so they can be uploaded into PT4. This is a much easier way than using excel, but I'm a creature of habit and ocd. PT4 has slight mistakes and over the long run will be off by like 2% which is just not acceptable to me.

But i do use PT4 because i think its a really amazing tool to go back and review my play. Also i get to see a lot more hands that didn't go to showdown because Bovada reveals player's hands in the downloaded version of the HH so thats really valuable as well. Free Info.

i use to let PT4 track my results but nothing ever seemed right and never took it too seriously.

i would track stats with pad and pen if i had to. but if it's basic knowledge about excel, i'm sure it's super easy. i would like to see how your excel ss looks on start up or what the input into each cell is.

First row: Color Code each month. Just alternates between those two shades of blue. This is also where i mark if i happen to get a bonus from bovada and ill just add it to a random cash. Sometimes they give away $50/ week or whatever the bonus is so i track that.

Second Row: MTT #

Third Row: Date Played. Color coded alternating between yellow and green. This just helps me count how many days i played that month easier.

Fourth Row: Buy In Amount

Fifth Row: Place i took in mtt. If i didn't cash i just put 0 cuz i don't care what i got unless i cashed.

Sixth Row: How much i cashed for (sometimes i might have not cashed in the mtt but i did get some K/Os so ill look out for those and put those)

Seventh Row: How much i won or lost for that specific MTT

Eighth Row:: Total Profit Since First MTT

Ninth Row: Its blank now because I'm behind on updating it, but i track if i cashed by typing the word 'Cash'. Then i can filter for the word Cash and find out how many times ive cashed and compare to total mtts and get my cash % (Its ~14%).

Tenth Row: Again, empty right now. If i final table ill track if i got 'First' 'Second' or 'Third'. This helps me know how often I'm getting top 3 and how often I'm closing out the mtt.

Eleventh Row: Current Month Profit.

Nothing between Eleventh and last Row.

Last Row: Year To Date Profits.

This works for me. Ive tinkered with it a lot and this is how i find the most efficient way to track my play and get all the basic stats i want.

For example, if i wanna know how much ive cashed for since i started playing on bovada, i just find the sum of the sixth row, which is $192,568.88. And other cool little things like this (ROI, etc..)

YOURE WELCOME

how are you getting the totals in the 7th,8th,11th and last column totals? do you manually calculate these things then punch them in? or are you having a solution do this for you in a certain cell? if so, what might an example of one of them be?

They are all formulas 7,8,11 (not necessarily the same formula in each). You can try and figure it out on your own. You have all the info necessary from my post and the picture to do research and trial/error to figure it out. Once u figure it out its as simple as copy/paste after inputing the results manually to get the formula to pop up in the new cells.

i might invest into excel, but then again, all this is as simple as pen and paper.

you have showed me the importance of stat tracking. it's a beautiful thing!!!

Pt4 shows you the mucked cards and it's free info but is it? The player's are still anonymous - so are you using population reads based on this info?

Gl in me btw

Yes, population read and also player type read (aggrofish, passivefish, etc) and we can get a better sense for the ranges of each player type.. In general we should have a basic standard strategy against all general population based on math and fundamentals then adapt when we define player type.

Only works with PC and i have MAC. Might just buy a PC when i settle into a new place in a month and actively work on expanding to other sites and find ways to make it work. Anything can work if u put enough effort.

Thanks a lot Sadyuro! One thing i can say for sure is that my work ethic is insane lol. Im still in the middle of a 1700 mtt Break even stretch and i keep on grinding along. In fact, it inspires me to grind even harder! Get through this rut and show everyone what its like to grind your ass off through terrible runs of cards and get to the other side where all the $$$ is waiting for me.
