Hey, I'm also on ipoker at nl20 currently and taking shots at nl50 when I can. Just started my own pg&c thread. Have you seen me at the tables? I'm assuming you have a different SN as I havent seen a fishtankz.

Anyways GL and I will see ya out there!

@Zippy
I stopped playing at iPoker. I might deposit again if I want to bumhunt multiple networks 100nl+. But the disconnection issues, and iPoker moving to "essence"-rake format don't seem very appealing to me. Essence-rake format basically means less rakeback for winning players.

School started and I'm starting to find the motivation for it again.
I woke up today at 3am after sleeping 8 hours. I was thinking about going back to bed, but decided to grind. Slightly irritated at the start of the session, but turned out to be a good one.
I still have problems, sometimes I can't resist doing stupid things. I take high variance lines, and tilt when I go wrong. So trying to hit that fold-button more often from now on.

h1: 54/44 and 44% 3-bet over 51 hands. I checked recent hands and didn't find him doing anything stupid, he even checked some rivers with mediocre hands in smaller pots. Decided to take the low variance option. Don't know if KQ is a call here vs such player.

All I found when researching this so far was that they were going to redistribute the rake to the sites that bring in new players the most. However this doesnt effect the rakeback you get from the ipoker network.

There was a mention of lowering VIP rewards possibly to increase promotions but it's not set in stone from what I read.

Either way it deosnt seem too bad. I get full VIP rakeback and I just started. Seems like there are quite a few bad players there to me. Is pokerstars really that much more loose? If it has that much less nits it must be extremely juicy. I haven't played 100nl yet but at nl50 I have seen some pretty aweful players and loose tables.

Played a HU match at 200nl against fish.
That really got the adrenaline kicking in.
There were very few 100nl tables available, and most of the match had stacks <100€, so not like I was gambling
He had started to min 3b a lot, whenever I would think for >2 seconds before making an open.

imo. iPoker has too many regs. It's really hard to find fish sometimes. So you end up playing on a tough table full of aggressive regs and some 35/20 regfish since that's the best table you can find
I don't play at Pokerstars since I don't want to commit myself to grinding Supernova. But games should be good at Pokerstars given their popular mobile app. But I think there's a lot of regs too, and long waiting lists.

If you need more info on that rake chance, ask in these threads:

I was trying to figure out why my hourly has been so good lately.
Think I found out.
100nl+

50nl and below

One reason could be that I'm overconfident with money amounts at 50nl. I no longer think of 25€ as 50bb, more like 25bb.
Not trying to be a party pooper, but I need to turn down my expectations a little bit regarding my hourly. If you play 400 hands/hour you need 5bb winrate to make 20€/hour. That is already a good winrate, and I just started at 100nl.

15.1

I took shot at 200nl today, went well. Wanted to rake more for the rake race and not enough 100nl tables were available.
But as the race ends today I'll totally quit 200nl. Playing there is way too stressful.

Things worked out very smoothly, got people to pay me off, also hit weaker parts of their range, like in these two hands.

Wasn't sure about stacking turn, but turned out to be good decision Super happy to win the hand, had to do a small victory dance.

Wasn't the best day on the tables, given few hands I posted above. Still ran above EV, but can't take that for granted.

Hand that REALLY tilted me, mainly because I couldn't fold. The f*cker snap shoved the river!!! I don't know if fish do that only with the nuts, i've seen some snap bluffs too. Flop bet could be bigger, there is still some connectedness + he was a whale.

I made thread for this hand and it has received some mixed replies.
There are a lot of ways to play this.
People suggested just flatting turn --> keeping his range wider, but then they also suggested getting the stacks in on the river. This is possible when villains range is still wide.
With 3-betting turn we narrow his range, he might still overplay flushes (like hero ), but he has no bluffs, Qx is not folding though. His min 4-bet is really scary, but I just hit the all-in button, hoping he has worse flush, or QxK.
Fish are not very disciplined, so overplay from Qx (AQ/KQ) or worse flush is totally possible.

Feeling exhausted after todays grind.
I grinded like 9½ hours. For zoom players the amount of hands may seem small, but table selecting every session is a lot of work.
Todays grind was well structured. I took long breaks and quit immediately if I felt tilted.
Also managed to not do anything stupid this session, at least in big pots

I had to play some 200nl again this morning, since there were no tables available. But I added money to iPoker, and might deposit on Party poker. Want to stay out of 200nl, it's nice when you run good but downswings will be very tough.
I won a lot of big pots today, got people to bluff me and pay off in 3-bet pots. Still not that profitable day, lost a lot of river xc's and such.
Some hands:

h1: maybe the biggest technical mistake today. I had seen this reg bet pot a lot, it's my best bluff catcher, but not sure what hands he is bluffing with. Thought that AK doesn't bet like that.

Mental game wise, my focus has been to keep the motivation up. I have a big heater this month, but I need motivation to keep playing.
After that reg donated me 185£, I lost my motivation to play. Won enough money, so I kinda lost my appetite for grinding.
Rake race is one of the biggest motivators to keep playing. Money wise, I'm just grinding rolls to move up to 100nl permanently. Could buy a new TV, smart phone and all that stuff, but somehow I'm not interested.
When I'm unmotivated, I start to gamble more, ego kicks in, becomes tougher to make folds etc. In a nutshell you start to do more stupid things. That's one of my recent motto's,
"Don't do anything stupid and it will be a profitable day" Keep it simple!

Woke up this morning and everything feels like ****. Normally I'm like at least 75% positive, not this morning. Hate everything, seeing fish donk bet that river is too much, not sure what is going on lol
So in hours like these, it's best to force yourself to quit.

I don't see how flatting 66 in MP vs an UTG raise is going to be +EV.

With that AK hand the only hand he has that beats you on the river is AA. He has no 4x except maybe A4s*, 77 is highly doubtful. It's pretty unlikely he'd be checking the turn with most of his Ax hands though and it's a reasonably good card for your range so you probably want to be betting the turn imo, also stops him realising any equity for free and if he is x/r the turn then he is going to be really unbalanced because he can only have 1 combo of AA that beats you.

* Every combo of this is blocked by your hand and the board by the turn.

Nice analysis on the AK hand. Didn't play with the best mindset then, so I was afraid of a cooler there :/ Wasn't in a b/f for thin value mood... But looks like a raise, only thing that beats us is rly 77 (seen regs sqz that), AA (1 combo) and A7 (unlikely). Not sure how bluffy my line would look, but could get calls from worse.

66 hand, opener was probably a fish given the min-raise. Those stat's mean nothing, since it's anon tables, they are the overall sample on every player who has sit on seat 1 etc.

The results got a bit better, still have mindset problem. I wrote that it's tilted day and not going well, then I take 200nl shot. Found some good tables there, and no action at 100nl. But I'll try to start more 100nl tables.
I don't have a lot else to do than grind today. Going to the grocery store and seeing if I grind more afterwards. Already put in 3½ hours.

Not sure on this one. CO had solid VPIP/PFR, looked through recent hands, didn't find anything unusual. So in a nutshell it's an unknown, and we should take the GTO decision here?
Should bet the flop bigger, a lot of worse hands can call.

Very dissapointing day. After RB, my EV losses would be about -50€. It's not a lot, but I wasted time by playing poorly.
I tried to bite more than a could chew. My nerves couldn't hold it.

Hand that was the breakdown, vs standard fish who starts to 3-bet every hand once you fold few times. Went mental afterwards, monkey rage followed by cold shower and push ups
Should just 4-bet for value, they always find a way to spazz out and lose their buy-in, no need to slowplay.
Turn is either the nuts or air, river was sigh call given odds. Don't know if he ever spazzes out there...

Didn't do anything stupid that session apart from that hand.
Overall for the day, I didn't lose many >50bb pots. AQs was a mistake, getting it in with JJ was a mistake, KK... Those were the worst. Kept hitting the call button too much overall, but I can be glad I didn't start making big bluffs or anything. Just another day in the office, you don't always run well and need to challenge yourself mentally.
I will try to have at least one day break now. Downswings motivate me a lot to play though, so will see.

I'll keep that in mind.

I couldn't resist playing today, Monday mornings are pretty juicy.
Given my last days blog posts, I played like a HUGE NIT!!!
And once again couldn't resist opening those 200nl tables.
There was one aggressive reg who was giving me trouble. But he had cbet ~65% which is not very high, so could be that he was just running good. What I have been thinking about lately is that the fear of being exploited might be a big contributor to tilting. Over small samples we shouldn't fear about being exploited. We take GTO lines vs other players, they should do the same vs us. Once we start to gain reads that they might be exploiting us (30% 3-bet bvb), we can start to fight back. In stake like 200nl there is bigger concern that you are being exploited, but still over small samples we should probably play tight before we have any reads, evidence.

Month has been going well thus far.
I have earned enough money, ~3K minimum after RB. That's 30 BI for 100nl. Overall impression seems to be that 100nl is beatable.
JUST AVOID LEVELING AND DOING STUPID STUFF!!!
I now need to work on my game. I find playing to be very addictive. But I also found that forcing yourself to play long hours unmotivated is bad.
So I don't need to grind atm for money, I only have to defend my position in the rake race, which can be done in few sessions. Only trying to play when I'm motivated.

So I will start to review my game. First step would be to review a lot of hands I have tagged as "Review". Those hands should give a clue of what to work on next.
Not sure if I have time, but would be cool to start taking notes on all the fish I have played against this month.
Also have to write a report for school about physics and start doing some homework. No time for playing!!

Work on ranges:
PF flatting range BB vs UTG: imo. AQ, KQ, good suited connectors JTs-67s, you can flat pocket pairs but not excessively, so 66+ would do it. QJs I don't know if it's good for flatting. AJs??
KQo - 6 combos
KQs - 2 combos
AQ - 8 combos.
I give him one QJs combo, since I don't think you should always flat QJs, but I may be wrong.
I think he will float flop with medium pocket pairs. Depends on the player, some player's just fold right away, while some float. Problem with floating is that our semi-bluffs have a TON of equity vs that PP. Q64ds not the best bluffing board. I think he will slowplay sets maybe ½ the time.
So looking at turn bet, he has: 17 better Qx, 99 (6) TT (6) JJ (6), 77 (6), 88 (3), 3 sets given my assumption, flush draws 87s-JTs 4 combos.
Value combos: Qx, sets = 23
Weaker PP: 24
FD: 4 combos.
Against this range our equity is: 48.77%.
Overall I'm confused if we should bet here or not . I also think that not every villain floats 77 and 88 on this flop, some fold right away, that would shift his range more towards value.
As for the river, I think villain should check in case he has SDV like 99 or 77 or TT.
If he always donks AQ KQ QJs JJ and sets (66 44 88), that's a lot of combos. While he can only have about 4 flush draws. Overall his value range OTR would be 25.5 combos, we get 28% odds so we need 7 bluff combos. 4 for the FD, not sure if he would donk like 77 there.

Nice work I like the reasoning. Without too much thought I would be calling here pretty much all the time. He called your cbet. not really a sign of strength. He could still have hands like A high or A with a low pair (especially if that hand had him on a flush draw) and just assume your cbet was just an attempt to take the pot there. I think that widens his range so much that a call is necessary.

The guy seems pretty loose. He could be defending from the BB w/ all kinds of Ax hands imo.

His only A-high float is A, that's like occasional AKo flat or AJo (which would be a fold pre). Don't see any other off suited aces.
31.5/24.5 is not that loose over small sample, typical for a player who opens a lot. So it looks more like reg to me.

I would also say intuitively it's a call, since when you take that line no one puts you on Qx. But as I have said it's hard to come up with a bluffing range.

I have come up with couple of plans for the month.
- One would be to play a session of 10nl Just so that the money doesn't matter.
- Play 4 tables of 100nl, FOCUS and THINK!! I don't think so much when I have 8 tables going.
- Study the fish a lot.

I am already in progress of reviewing hands. I definitely want to work off the table, given the graph I posted there is no need to keep grinding for money atm

Ya. Hard to say. Still think it might be more loose than solid reg type. Either way hes likely to be calling wide pre. On the flop i'm not totally convinced that is the only ace hes floating although I agree it's probabaly the only one he should be floating. And yes it doesnt look like you are very strong so he could be betting with a lot of hands.

Def think this so close a spot that I would call almost to see what he is doing in this situation. You still have decent equity anyway. Basically I feel like you might be giving him too much credit. Maybe I am wrong though. Certainly interesting. I want to hear what other have to say.
