Week 3, 2014:



Interesting week, very happy to reach my goal of 25+ hours at the tables, and at least I did some off-table work in form of watching vids and discussing some hands. Not that happy about results, but at least it's another winning week booked which is great for my confidence. And as said earlier it's awesome to take some shots at NL100 again, hopefully I can do more of that in the coming week and break through!

Just played a 5 hour session at NL50 rush and got crushed in showdowns, finishing down about 6 BIs Oh well, at least I'm still decently up for the week but this losing session had to come I guess. My plan for this weekend is to go out and have dinner w gf friday night celebrating our 6th anniversary, then grind grind grind and hopefully crush some weekend fishies.

Week 4, 2014



Had an awesome week at the tables this time, think I played some pretty good sessions and only two bad, which feels great. Also very happy that I now feel comfortable at the NL100 limit again, had to adjust my mental game a bit with dropping down to NL25 earlier this month but now I feel it's good again. Hope I can finish this month strong and book some nice winnings in the end, that means a lot to me after going through the downswing!

Shhhh don't let everyone know! Haha, nah to be honest i don't know, still think the reg/fish ratio is pretty good but we might play different times for the most part. I still think FTP is the best site out there for playing rush/zoom games atm, the pool at Stars is just to big for my likings and euro sites pretty much sucks at NL100+ for fastfold games.

Which videos have helped you? Nowadays, I find it so hard to get through a 45min video. It's so boring and I usually don't learn a thing. There are some decent RIO content but still have to sift through some mediocre material as well.

Yeah, I get what u are saying. It's not like one vid is completely gonna change the way u look at the game etc or give u any major tips, but I try to watch a few vids every week and that has definitely helped my understanding of the game overall, but I can't think of any video/series that has helped me a ton or anything, it's more like taking very small steps at a time.

RIO bottom tier was ok but nothing more, but that's what u get for only paying 10 a month I guess. I've watched a fair bit of Galfond vids including way back when he was with Bluefire, and his vids has always been a pleasue to watch/learn from.

Other than RIO/Bluefire I've been a huge fan of Leggo, so guys like zaza/apotheosis/aejones has prob had a pretty big impact on my learning process. I am very much looking forward to the launching of IveyLeague, hope to catch some good vids over there!

I try to watch almost exclusively live session vids because I think they are the most 'real' ones, like it's pretty easy to record a session first and then add audio later and look like a genius

I've never done it myself, but I know a fair bit of guys use to take notes/pause vids etc. and I can imagine that being a pretty good thing, so u might wanna try that out, but as I said this isn't something I've been doing myself (prob should but I'm lazy ) so can't give u any tips about it.

Was planning on grinding some this night, but PT4 has some bugs for rush atm, so I'm calling it a day. Played some interesting hands over at stars tho, posted underneath. I'm currently at 91 hours for the month, would like to get to 100 but that's gonna be close altho I'm prob gonna make it!

January, 2014

Sooo, I'm now finished with my first month of the year 2014, and have to say I'm superhappy about how things turned out for me! As you guys know I had to drop down to NL25 at the end of last year, and I'm very pleased to be back playing NL100 in just a month of grinding. Results have been supergood and I'm very much looking forward to continuing the progress I've had lately. I think me dropping down and starting to work on my game again really paid off this month, so def will continue doing that, and not being as lazy as I was in the last months of 2013. Hard work will def get you far in poker, and it's really fun when we get the results! As far the moving up part, I think I'm gonna start shotting NL200 rush (when that runs, prob have to move some of my volume to stars) when BR is between 8 and 10k, so hopefully some time in march Also very happy that I reached my goal of 100+ hours this month, which is a number I think is decent to aim for, and I'm averaging roughly 700/hand per hour at 3tables of rush/zoom so that should give 70k hands a month.
