Been using it for my last 5 sessions. Which coincidentally have been 4/5 winning sessions lol.

Heres my best (also my most recent) live session to date, 750 in roughly 7 hours.
Sustainable hourly imo

Heres my bankroll as of now.

10 hrs yesterday +76 dollars. No breaks.. Real grind.

Was also potentially stupid of me to rack up at 3am, my table was crazy live and I had a 500$ stack. Pretty much the best table you could ask for at that hour at mohegan sun.

2 drunk guys that were giving me free money earlier, they were semi-sobering up and not playing so terrible but I was too tired and had to drive an hour fifteen home so I decided to just accept my small victory and go.

I have been absolutely crushing live poker as of late. I can honestly say my last ~100ish hours of poker I played near optimal and ran pretty good. Getting super paid on my value hands by sitting in the right games. Bluffing reg kids that have a fold button and a face up 1 pair hand. Leaving when the game gets bad/I get tired... Feels good to finally be where I'm supposed to be at.

To be honest I kind of underestimated the difficulty of live poker. I had a wtf I'm a winning internet grinder and these guys are drunk degens, I can close my eyes and crush.

Poker-wise I feel as though that's pretty close to true, but the patience, endurance and ability to adjust to most live playertypes is something I think I've developed. Also no play in the pits.

My first half a dozen times or so at the casino it was a legitimate challenge to walk past the craps tables/roulette wheels full of fun and beautiful girls, but now it really isn't even a thought. Never before have I had a "gambling itch", very rarely do I bet sports and I'm a huge sports fan, absolutely hate the idea of lottery tickets, but I have always enjoyed craps/blackjack on my biannual trips to turning stone (18+ casino in upstate ny). Being able to avoid those things at my local(ish) casino was a concern for me, and I feel I have done well to stay clear.

Anyways- the grind. My sessions are shorter, my play is better, the games are better, I'm more comfortable, it's going well. I still hate socializing with the morons who frequent my casino, but it's nothing an ipod can't fix.

I have made some very sick folds my past few sessions. Including folding aces to a turn c/r from a tighter player repping narrow, and folding a baby flush to a huge AI on a paired board. As I type those folds they sound so standard and plausible, but it used to be difficult for me to make those folds live.

Here's my overall pokerjournal- it includes the last 9 sessions on mine.
Can anyone clarify what (raw) game hours vs real hrs means?

I do not think this hourly is sustainable. I see people claim 20-25 in the winrates thread in LLSNL but it seems too high.

The rest + graph:

My last 9 sessions: (All the ones entered on 11/3 are cause I transferred data from PJ lite into the pro version I bought that day.)

And of course- my balla pic

Hope it's not illegal to post pics of chips or w/e.. Thanks for reading.

Bankroll is currently $3002

This is money that I have exclusively for poker. I do not play 1/2 professionally (lol).

I have additional money to cover my other expenses.

Thinking abut shot taking 2/5 at 6k. I am not too familiar with bankroll management as it pertains to live poker as the game is much more variance/hr and my edge is massively larger then it was online.

Online I used a 30-40 BI benchmark for when I should shottake and get aggressive with my money. Live I am kind of unsure.

Of course I am a few thousand away from even attempting to sit 2/5 but I'm wondering what I should be shooting for. Should I shot take a friday night with 5k? Potentially swap some action with a RL poker friend first to get used to the money/standard opens etc? Few different options I am considering.

My baseball seasons ends after this weekend and I intend on grinding like a madman so I should be at a reasonable 2/5 amount soon, reading the winrates thread for a steady 40-50$ an hour sounds quite balla. I assume I can achieve the same because I am beating 1/2 quite handily and see the same playerbase (pretty much) sitting 2/5. I do not play because I am very conscious of BRM and do not really consider myself a "gambler". I approach everything mathematically.

So. 2/5 at 6k? (12 BI's of 500$)... The cap in my casino is 800, but I don't feel comfortable buying in for 150bb even in 1/2. I only put 150bb on the table if there is a reason too. I.e a fish sitting deep.

Honestly if you have another source of income then you probably arent woried about going broke. So nothing should be stopping you from sitting at a 2-5 table, play 1 or 2 buyins and go from there. Theres always the chance you could win too, and be at 6k that night, instead of grinding 1-2 for a month to get to 6k or whatev.

Looking at this for my first time playing a live tournament. Probably going to play a few of the smaller events and sell some action as well.

Would it be possible for me to get a stake in the marketplace with little to no live tourney experience? I would have pretty much no MU and my rep is spotless completing numerous transactions. Just curious if any of the normal stakers would even consider taking some of my action even though I am obviously +ev in these live tourneys. This is a deep(ish) stack series so I feel like my edge is even more.

Obviously if anyone who reads my thread wants some I'de be more then happy with that also

Should I even bother making a marketplace thread or just try and swap with the handful of poker people i know?

So I don't believe I played with you at 1-2 or 2-5. There was a guy @ my 1-2 table that was young and seemed to be good/knowledgeable/2+2er. It wasn't you though.

FWIW, I think the 2-5 game is very easy. If I were you with your roll, I would definitely take more shots @ 2-5. I don't like the minuscule 1-2 stacks. I played 1-2 while waiting for 2-5 and ended up staying for a few hours because there was some money on the table and some crazy action. After a while, there was no money on the table so I left.

There were lots of spots @ the 2-5 game. I find there always are. I probably should have played the 5-10 game as that was apparently a very good game and ran all night long also. But I was dead tired falling asleep at the table and didn't want to get into battles with 5-10 regs on my B game.

Definitely play the megas as they are good value. Great structures. Deep stacked for a long time.

Good luck to you.

This post will contain some of the runbad I dealt with yesterday. The last thing my thread is going to be about is bad beats, but this wasn't standard. The worst day of poker I've had in my entire life. This was a 9hr session and I did not tilt.

I ran my kings into a guys aces for 100bb
I had my aces cracked 5 times. Twice AI pf and lost. One of the AIPF was against a guy who legit shipped 200$ blind (i watched him the entire time) and had KK, spiked a K on river. One time I stacked off on a 244 board and the guy had 24. Another times in a 3way pot on 6c7cx vs 910cc vs QQ, guy turned a flush and I had the ace of clubs and couldnt bink. The other time I made a fairly standard fold on the flop in a mw pot where I got c/r and another guy called or w/e.

My KK lost to A5 when we got AI on J 2 4... Yes you read that right lol, he had 7 outs. Pot was like 400.

At the casino I play at they have a high hand jackpot promotion, this particular one was around 1500-1800 dollars. So I look down at J9 iin the big blind and knuckle. flop 1078. This happens with about an hour left in the promotion. Those of you not familiar with high hands, instead of a BBJ the house takes 1$ out of every pot >20$ on all tables and puts it toward the jackpot. My particular casino runs this every four hours, so the person with the highest hand (both holecards obv) every 4 hours gets shipped the jackpot. I have to fade a higher straight flush for a little less then an hour and this nightmare day is turned around. With 10mins left some moran spikes a K high straight flush and crushed my soul. I hear an older reg whos pretty solid say in a loud voice, "who had the jack high raise your hand?", I announce back, right here with a smile. After that I wait for my BB and drive home, dejected, yet happy that I only lose 500$ all things considered.

The worst part is this would of been my first one in about 400 hrs of play. Was so brutal after the day I had.

This is poker.

Sup thread. My poker-Live vs internet play- Strip club shenanigans

Been crushing lately. Have also played like 10hrs of 2-5. It is a man's game. People regularly have 2k+ in bills and chips. I have seen a 3k pot at 2-5 and was just in awe. The jump in how real the money is is quite astounding to me. Losing 200$ in 1-2 on a suckout is much easier then 500+ in 2-5. I will get used to it eventually, thank god I havent gotten crushed too bad at 2-5.

Past few sessions have been a 1-2 in the afternoon ----> dinner ---->2-5 at night.

Seems to be a good pattern for me as I notice the higher stakes games don't get good till later. When the fish seperate from their wives/friends/get out from the bars and clubs and come to play.

I was recently at the casino for a 2 day stint Saturday into tonight (Sunday) went well. +1300 in 2 days playing 1-2 and 2-5. Made some good higher level plays at 2-5 that work against oppenents with a fold button and made some good value bets at 1-2.

One thing that stands out in my mind when playing 2-5 is that I am not scared to push small edges. There is one reg at my casino whom everyone seems to speak so highly of. Being from the internet, I almost always look at live players as inferior and full of holes. Whether I'm right or wrong that's my view. It may be controversial but in my opinion live poker is lolworthy even at 2-5. I can imagine 5-10 is the same in most cases.

Your kneejerk response may be to state, "How can you say 5-10 is bad when you've never played?" Easy. Because by using my head, I can tell the 65 year old man drinking a heineken in seat 3 doesn't care about his 3bet range. The 35 year old greek guy with a gold chain and slicked black hair? Him neither. The quiet nerd in seat 2 with 5k infront of him? He's probably aware.

My point is not that age makes you good or bad. It is a sweeping generalization that I make that I find to be right most of the time.

My live experience is almost all exclusively 1-2. There are exactly 4 players that I have played with regularly that I respect (among about 100). One of them is above 25.

The reg mentioned previously isnt that old, he's probably 30, and I peg him to be a professional. I have played in 3 games with him, and since he is sort of a semi celebrity in the room I always notice him. I have heard from dealers and players alike that he is the best 2-5 player around (he plays bigger when the games go). He did not seem to be too dominant to me, just very unique.

He raised more then anyone I have ever seen, cbet 100% of flops, and played some aggressive in position against everyone. This is a style that I am not used to dealing with in 1-2 games, but I can adjust. floated qj on a10x after calling a raise pre and when checked to I fired a barrel. Raised 67 on 4jj5 after he donked into me on the flop.

Again- lolsamplesize, a few hands against "the best" means nothing. I do not underestimate variance for a minute and am constantly trying to get better. The only thing I am saying is that if I had to rate myself as a player, I would say I could crush 2-5nl live, but online I would get decimated. There are a numbers of factors weighing into this, but my one conclusion is that live players don't adjust. Ever. They have their mind made up as to how hand XX is supposed to be played, and play it that way.

You can beat 1/2 for 10$+ not ever bluffing besides a cbet imo. People are that bad. At least at Mohegan/Foxwoods

Maybe I am cocky right now because I'm on a good upswing and was playing really well the past few days. As I said, I'm coming off a 1300$ win in mostly 1-2 with some night 2-5 games. I was also very excited when I got a text from a friend I haven't seen in a while "you at the casino?". Was planning on driving up saturday and driving back late at night, but my friend had a room with a few of our mutual friends staying over and they were kind enough to let me crash. The downside is I lost 200$ shooting craps. They were astonished at how detached I was to money, coming off a winning 2-5 session 200$ literally felt like nickels. Balla'

We also had some free drinks (was done with poker for the night after my big win and just wanted to party/hang with my friend) and ended up going to a strip club. I have only been to one in my life, but I don't think I'm going to another one in a while.

The girls were alright and everything, not great, not terrible, but they were such snobs. Coming directly from a casino poker room where 99% of dealers want to be your "friend" and treat you politely because they work on tips, seeing strippers be bitchy was wierd. How -EV of a life decision have you made woman?

Me and my friend are sitting at the stage and the girl is dancing infront of us. My friend tosses a 1$ bill and it hits her in the leg. He didn't do anything crazy like stand up or throw it at her crumple it up or w/e, just tossed it on the stage and it hit her. The girls says "Don't throw dollar bills at my *nickname for cat?*" My friend looks at her and kind of nods his head yes, as in, oh ok sorry, whatever. She leans forward and says "Because I don't f'ing like it. Understand?"

We pretty much chalk that up as a good who has ran below EV her whole life. Sit around and tip the next few girls no problem then head back to a table with all our other friends.

We are sitting in a semi circle around a table. Random stripper walks up to me, and executes the physical contact of putting her hand on my shoulder and asks me if I would like a lap dance. I looked at her and said "No thank you", because I didn't like her.

She turns around to somebody and yells "Why the f do guys come to the club if they don't want to spend money?"

I had about 80$ in my pocket I allocated for this, but after that my friends saw it and we just decided to leave. Not leaving another dollar for these stuck up broads. The strip club was gorgeous on the outside and I expected much better. Guess I'm a moran for expecting a classy strip club?
