Really good day today. Made like 5 BIs in 3k hands, volume is getting better. Going to qualify for gold for the first time this month. Also plan on playing tournaments on sundays this month.

I also love how my games progressing. The cold 4bet hand is something I do a good amount of the time now with certain reads vs certain opponents.

I am rolled for NL50, I just dont want to screw myself up because I feel like I'm playing well at 25. Last time I was playing well at 25, took a shot and got owned, then my psyche at 25 was all screwed up.

Going to wait this time till I get some more NL50 buyins so when I start, I'm effectively already a reg and not taking a shot with the potential risk of moving down if I get owned. I like that idea better even though I'm rolled.

No, it wasn't, read what he wrote: "Balancing my min 3b range v fish"

Ain't nothing more logical than valuetowning fish by min 3b raising a range worse than they call with.

Started out the weekend with a 6 bi downswing and ended up like 4 buyins. Put in a lot of hands (for me) and feel good about it.

I got AI in the turn against a fish's draw a bunch of times and got sucked out as a 4-1 favorite a few times in big pots, those killed me. Dont post them cause there standard and boring.

Watched the masters as my first time ever really getting into golf. Could not imagine what that micelroy kid was going through. At least he's making money doing something he loves, so I can respect that and hope he has a good future. He seemed pretty polished for a 21 year old kid.

As far as poker my goal is to play 5k hands a day for the rest of this month (8-12) tabling and continue to grind. Got a new staking/coaching deal that I hope works out for me and a definately looking forward to my first real coaching experience.

Poker is kind of like scholastic writing in this respect. The way I play my game is normal for me, and I've been doing it my way for so long it is hard to identify problems because they are normal for me. Much like writing, it takes a 3rd party examining your work(poker game) to identify problems and progress.

I've examined my game a bunch of times and seen small stuff, but not nothing major. Obviously I have holes or I'de be chillen in Bobby's room.

                Good luck

A snapshot of my poker career

This is my graph of all hands played, starting out at 5nl all the way up to 50nl

My all time most played stake 25nl

My results for this year so far

Feeling really good about my game, had my first coaching session and really enjoyed it, found huge holes in my game that were blatantly obvious to him but stuff I wouldn't of ever though of.

Pretty much adjusting my postflop game and trying not to leak out of position.

I am currently on a huge heater right now after coaching (+200ish) in a few thousand hands and feeling so good about my game. Also just downloaded tableninja and its the stone cold nuts.

Qualified for gold this month in like 11 days, (first time gold ever in like 1yr of play, got it in 11 days lol) so I'm enjoying my new rb boost and going to try and continue to qualify each month.

As far as my personal life is going its never been better, just got back into coaching baseball which is something I love to do and allows me to chase this poker dream as well...

                Good luck.

                Nice thread.

I'm going to look into coaching when I have a few hands under my belt/am at 25nl or thereabouts. Also just got TNFT last night for the 30 day trial, will definitely be buying, sooooooo good.

                Turn 21 in 20 days.

This weekend took a drive to Turning Stone casino, (18+) for 4.5 hours each way by myself.

Made 700$ in 2 days at 1/2... Started out stuck like 350 or so, ate dinner and came back... Not once did I question myself for driving or my play, felt super confident.

Also felt really food to lag it up a little bit more then I usually do, aggressive young kid maniac image pays off alot.

20 days till I start myself off as a mohegan sun reg. Gonna save that 700$ and add it to my BR.

Do you have any experience onetabling? When you go back it might help (especially if you're frustrated) to take 5 seconds before every action asking yourself what the best possible play is.

Yes. Played turning stone several times and been succesfull, play home games etc.. Not a total stranger to live.

I just cant win a big pot, lost with sets 5 or 6 times... Had aces cracked by 83ss and lost the absolute minimum imo, valuetowned myself.

I have been running absolutely horrible, no doubt about that, but I also know I'm not playing optimal.

One of my bigger live leaks in calling raises multiway with 4-6 suited type of hands for 6x 7x bb and then folding a blank flop. Going to address that leak.

At least I got 55$ in comps and been 21 for a week :P

                Nice post!

My advice would be to stay at 25NL untill your winrate is slightly higher. Your overall is 2.5 but your 25NL is 0.67 over 100k hands.

You've dropped in win rate each time you've moved up and if you dropped bellow 0.68 going to 50NL it might prove fatal. So it would be sensible to wait a while IMO.

But you're on the right track and you have a great attitude!

I hope this post didnt sound negative, I just think it would be a shame to ruin all your hard work by moving up a little early!

Played 12 hours 2 days ago. Even.

First 20 mins I get KK in vs AA against some old guy... Really hated how I played it but can't think of any other way.

Me and the old guy are about 250$ effective.

limp limp etc, CO raised to 13$, old guy 3bets to 35 off the button.

I am in the SB with KK

I 4bet to 90 old guy ships it.

Can I ever fold? Thought for about 20secs and called
