Re: Hyper Turbo HUSNGs to pay for new Apartment

let's update this a bit..
i was SUPER lazy last weeks and actually only got half the volume in this month that i wanted. only 1500 games and i'm up 2200$ or so at 60s, some 100s (like 30 or so). during middle of the month i ran terribad, just nothing worked but i grinded it back up. i can likely play 100s somewhere next month, roll is at 4750$ right now. i had to cash out some money so that i could buy food, and i want to buy sharky which has a big jump in price from 60s to 100s.

now during summer i actually want to step up the pace big time. i'm going to stay at my parents for like 2-3 month and i'm planning to play atleast 10.000 games during that time, at 60s and hopefully mostly 100s. when i'm at my parents i don't have to worry about buying food, or cleaning or anything like that so i will have TONS of time. also: no friends around to distract me/go drinking. so let's hope that works out fine. if i get it done i will easily have supernova (i need 80.0000 vpp at this point). but until then i feel kinda lazy and not to volume happy, since i always think about how much i will be playing once i get to my parents so i just chillax for now. will start big summer session in about 2 weeks.

Re: Hyper Turbo HUSNGs to pay for new Apartment

oh and if anyone knows someone that could coach me in some MTTs since i want to add sunday tournaments to my regular grind at some point once my roll gets a bit bigger. i know pretty much nothing about MTTs, though. but i expect the sunday tournaments to be fairly different from the std 180man grindfests, so i don't really want to get coaching from a 180 turbo grinder.

imo MTTs are just horrible. You already have a game with lower variance, higher hourlies and less time commitment necessary. Why would you want to change.

Re: Hyper Turbo HUSNGs to pay for new Apartment

damn i'm lazy so far this month, didn't even play 150 games i think. first session i ran breakeven EV and 25BI under EV. did not enjoy losing 40% of my roll in one session. let's grind this back up soon

Re: Hyper Turbo HUSNGs to pay for new Apartment

Adding sundayMTTs with a 5k roll is kinda naive imo, I mean that's not enough to play 10$FO's. Allthough i'm too nitty with my BR I'd also be kinda reluctant to add in 100s with a 5k roll. 60s is high enough to make a pretty nice living out of it if you maintain a decent ROI with enough volume. I do however admire the spirit of regs taking shots underolled and wish I could get myself to go for it =)

Realized i might have sounded a bit harsh but i wish you the best!

yeah sure, i wasn't planning on adding them right now, but sometimes in the future with a bigger roll. although i do think i can have a more aggressive bankroll for MTTs if i only play the sundays, since my bankroll growth won't depend only on those games. and taking shots at 100s with 5k isn't underrolled imo, it's aggressive but not underrolled.

Re: Hyper Turbo HUSNGs to pay for new Apartment

You can def play higher MTTs than an MTT grinder, sure you can still hit a 100+BI downswing but it will be buffered by your HU play (will still suck though, cause it will kill your HU profits)

50BI is super nitty

Re: Hyper Turbo HUSNGs to pay for new Apartment

players at 60s (including the regs i play) are getting worse every. single. day. it's pretty hilarous how fckn bad they actually are, they have absolutely no clue what they are doing lol.

like this **** some reg did after about 4 games in or so:

    Poker Stars, $58.74 Buy-in (10/20 blinds) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 2 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite. View Hand #13608782

    BB: 490 (24.5 bb)
    Hero (SB): 510 (25.5 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q Q
Hero raises to 40, BB calls 20

    Flop: (80) A K 4 (2 players)
    BB checks, Hero checks

    Turn: (80) J (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets 40, BB calls 40

    River: (160) A (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets 80, BB calls 80

flop bet close imo, decided to checkback because villain fairly fit/fold but prob aggressive with draws here, so fine to maybe let him catch a weaker pair or something like that, and we can bluffcatch turn leads alot + bet turns for value, because after 2 checks regs prob don't have that much air in their range here.

such a terrible turn play by villain, it's insane. and he will never notice because he won the hand, so great ha. prob every possible option besides c/f is better here. c/r small is fairly good here imo, because he doesn't rep anything really since he's a reg and won't c/r a made straight ott, esp since he's so ultra straightforward and will prob get value from my Jx and obv QQ. or a river lead ship after his turn c/c, because then im def calling with Jx and QQ and he gets max value. these guys don't seem to possess basic hand/range "reading" skills. or maybe he soulread me and totally owned me, and put me on QQ.

Re: Hyper Turbo HUSNGs to pay for new Apartment

same guy spazzed out just a few hands later, obv i got lucky with flopping (and rivering even better) nuts, but he played his hand so godawful it's sickening. villain fairly low pfr and terrible post, so flatcall > 3bet shove here.
flop is obv great for me, and tons of hands to get value from (+spazz). c/r for value obv, turn barrel for value obv and great card to get value, since he prob floats alot of Kx anyway, not a terrible spot for villain to shove his air imo. would prob fold 8x to a ship OTT, and that's pretty great. i don't understand how he could possible think i'm 3barrel bluffing this board otr, there where pretty much no draws, and worst case is i'm value barreling 8x or hoping to fold out split pot. i'm literally not shoving turn with air here ever, like nobody does that ever, and people trap alot on this boards when facing c/r. i'm actually not really c/r bluffing flop in the first place since you get so little credit, and i'm c/shipping a flushdraw prob, and not just because villain is so straightforward bad overall, and will prob go like "hurr durr big raise, let's fold!"

      Turn: (260) K (2 players)
Hero bets 120, SB calls 120

      River: (500) 4 (2 players)
Hero bets 260 and is all-in, SB calls 240 and is all-in

      Results: 980 pot

SB showed Q 6 and lost (-490 net)
      Hero showed 4 A and won 980 (490 net)
