Hi Guys!

My old pgc thread: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/17...0/index10.html

Still being staked by Imawahale group which am very proud of as its a great community with some very good mid-highstakes players who are also down to earth and help me improve my mental and technical game a ton on a daily basis.

I actually managed to reach nl400 by this month so I consider that challenge completed. My new main goal is to reach at least 5/10 by the end of the year.

Pokerwise:

*Annual Hours Goal: 1000

*Weekly Hours Goal: 20

*Move up to 5/10 by the end of the year and become a reg in those games

*Schedule/Process Goals:

1) Stick to healthy daily routine

- Stick to structured and planned session lengths

- Work on time management skills

*Mental Game Goals:

1) Improve Cooldown Process

- Inject Stronger Logic (more complete statements to yourself about a spot that is bothering you)

- Journal out mental state at end of session more thoroughly in notepad

- FOLLOW THROUGH and review the hands that are stuck in your mind

2) Improve Mental State at End of Month

Play more second sessions as planned when already up on the day near end of month

Journal out mental state before, during, and after sessions near end of month.

Inject stronger and more complete logic

* Work away from the tables at least 4-5 times a week

(1on1 coaching/group coaching/hh review/productively watching a training vid/ work on specific areas of my game with fellow midstakes grinders/coaches /exchange sweats with highstakes grinders/coaches in the group etc.)

Lifewise:

* stay fit: hit the gym 3 times a week/play soccer 3 times a week besides

*try control spending

*sleep less overall but more quality hours

*spend more quality time with missus when not dealing with poker related stuff

*better time management

*work out a schedule/daily routine

*be more productive while browsing poker forums or try to limit the time

Some of these goals might sound silly or simple but definitely affect my grinding in the long run in some ways.

This is going be another goal of mine but will depend on how next few months will go, would love to go and got really excited today when we talked about this in the group and will sort everything out to be able to go like passport, VISA if required etc.

It's a somewhat expensive (probably more so for you coming from Hungary) but awesome experience that is totally worth it and that every poker player should experience at least once imo. Hope to see you there!

Been playing on my new network for about a week or so and I started out great but been breakeven last couple of days. Started shotting nl400 and been running a bit cold there and have to adjust a bit as regs are a bit better/more solid but surely I will be fine.

Also, after reviewing some hands, I realized that I overfolded a bit against fish in some ridic spots like c/call c/call donk overbetshove when bdoor fdraw got there and I actually folded a set and stuff like this happened a few times when I had some very strong holdings and just have to make sure I dont fold the best hands in the future against these types of fish but also on the other hand I dont start calling down too light either, just need to find balance.

I got frustrated a few times and just need to make sure I stay focused and patient and dont force action when card dead and hand cuffed vs these type of players as they donate their stack sooner or later anyway.

1000 hours per year/40.5 hours completed so far

Actually just checked the hours played so far because something didnt add up and found out that overall I played 12 hours on the previous network and 37 hours on the new network so that totals 49 hours/1000. Pretty good work ethic compared to last years which was not bad either.

Guess its time for an update as the final third of the month began and also as I'm feeling really frustrated right now because last few days I couldn't grind the way I planned due to some unexpected problems.

Its the 20th now and up until Sunday, I took only 2 days off and played 65 hours online while also worked away from the tables a decent amount and overall really happy with my work ethic this month. One thing I want to note for myself is that I observed I had some big expectations before sessions and when results didn't come I felt kind of frustrated/bad like as if I failed or something like that. I just have to remind myself again and again that its bad logic and I can't control variance, the only thing I kinda should have expectations for before a session is that I play my A game overall without caring about $$ won or lost. Another one is also some sort that isn't in my control: I was just about to put in a session last night when my internet just went away and found out that there was a nation wide maintenance during all night and my net provider didn't send any warnings about it so no way I could have played and rather reviewed some of my hands and went to bed. Then again this morning while I'm writing this I had some issues with a software I need to be running to be able to access the pokerlobby so again I just couldn't grind. This is very frustrating as it happened on consecutive days but there is nothing I can do about it right now and I have to just accept it and come back later today.

I'm already feeling much better and feel like frustration is fading away while putting this down. Will take a few hours off and be back later and hope it gets sorted by that time and will be able to put in some decent grinding.

Subbed GL!. Like the goals. Ambitious. Excited to see it happen. How do you plan to move up so fast w/ limited play time of 20 hours a week? Those are some big level jumps. Don't get me wrong I want to see it. Just wondering how you planned this.

The weekly 20 hours is my minimum goal I'd like to achieve which means total 80ish hours/month solely playing at the tables, that's the bare minimum I'd like to reach. I don't have limited time tbh I can play as much as I want right now and will probably exceed it every month unless holidays and what not but while playing a decent amount of hours I also work away from the tables on my own (hh review etc.) and with other members from the group, have 2 1on1 coaching sessions as well as 2 group coaching sessions per month, having numerous sweat sessions with the bosses like Sean/Shane/Dan and also tend to watch training vids (mostly RIO) on a daily basis so this adds up to a very decent number of hours per month I spend on both playing and improving. Not to mention that I'm also trying to keep a healthy balance with my life( missus/gym/soccer etc.) so it won't be easy but would really like to achieve. I think right now I'm at my best both technically and mentally and really think I could beat the games up to 5/10, I wouldn't crush but would win at a few bb/100 ( and its not me who said this out loud first, it was actually Sean during one of our sweat sessions) , its just the money aspect of it: even if I was provided the proper bankroll, I'd be scared a bit on higher stakes, I need some time to get used to the numbers and move up step by step as loosing like 5k a day on 5/10 would def hurt me no matter how good my mental game was. I just need to carry on like this and stay patient as I have time, I'm gonna put in the effort into this, I'm more dedicated than ever and I have humility towards this game.

Hope this answers some of your questions and already subbed to your thread and wish you gl too! I'm sure if you put in the hours and listen to the guys at the stable and take their advice you will succed too!

Zup guys!

Been a while since I last updated here mainly because I did my warm up and cool down elsewhere but have just decided that I'm gonna set daily and monthly goals and monitor the progress here.

I'm still at nl400 and since my last update, had 2 break evenish months which were quite disappointing and had my best month as well in terms of profit with 2 other winning months but overall I can't seem to be winning on 400 consistently. This is due me running fairly bad there (running now more than 40 buy ins below EV-but not going to mention this from now on) but also because of some leaks of mine which I have started working on to fix with my coaches.

Firstly, I'm going to focus on these specific adjustments and try to implement these into my game and try not to care about short term results as obv my main goal is still to reach nl1k by the end of this year while completing the 1000 hours played at the tables. However, my short term goal will be to beat nl400 at a decent bb/100 over 100k hands.

So my monthly goals list in no particular order (will review how I did at the end of the month):

*2 1on1 coaching sessions
*participate in all group coaching sessions
*do some hh review with fellow midstakes players from the group
*focus on the adjustments to my game that were set up in June's last coaching session
*send 3 hhs for review to either of my coach on a daily basis (after he responded)
*finish The Poker Mindset
*start rereading Jared Tendler's MGoP again or Daniel Kahneman's Fast and slow thinking
*keep 2+2 browsing to minimum

03/07 Daily goals:

*play 2 sessions
*review hands from last session and mark spots for later review
*workout at the gym
*footie in the evening
*2 shake/day

03/07 Daily goals:

*play 2 sessions (played only one as hit stop loss even tho I played very well was just one of those sessions where I couldn't win a pot)
*review hands from last session and mark spots for later review (x)
*workout at the gym (x)
*footie in the evening (x)
*2 shake/day (x)

04/07 Daily goals:

*play at least 2 sessions
*review hands from last session
*possible footie match in the evening
*2 shake/day
*watch latest Sauce RIO vid
*watch Copa America final at night(find it very important to spend some time away from poker and do something I enjoy, this way I can maintain a healthy balance)
*stop looking at results until the day is over so this way I'm staying motivated no matter what
*keep session lengths healthy (which for me is about 2-3 hours/session)
*say the action out loud, what and why I'm gonna do in game

Good luck. Good choice to work on mental game, something almost everyone struggles with and most people neglect to work on.
