Re: Grinding up a bankroll to move to Vegas

Today's Results- $140 in 3 hrs

I only played a short session today, I'm going to have to make up ground later on in the month. I picked up a lot of hands today but didn't get paid off that well. I made some pretty good folds though and stayed out of trouble.

Re: Grinding up a bankroll to move to Vegas

Today's Results- $150 in 4.5 hrs

I put in another half day because I'm lazy. I'm continuing my hot run, if I keep it up I could top the streak I had at the beginning of the thread.

Here is a hand I played at 2/4-

I pick up KK in lp I 3bet to 120 over an ep open and a mp caller. It folds to the opener who thinks for a second then makes the call he had been playing pretty loose. Then villain 2 makes it 320 he is a straight forward player so obviously I'm ****ing my pants. I considered making the hero fold but since there was a ton of money in the pot and I thought villain would probably come along I stuck in my last 265. Villain 2 did come along and they both have me covered. Of course villain 2 shows up with AA and villain 1 said he had suited broadways the board bricks out nh sir. People ask me what I had I just said I couldn't beat aces, most people would show the hand to let everyone know they got coolered but I would rather people think I stacked off light which is a much better image to have.

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 18.885% 13.75% 05.14% 109665776 40997653.67 { KcKs }
Hand 1: 65.360% 59.79% 05.57% 476960006 44467237.67 { KK+ }
Hand 2: 15.755% 15.10% 00.66% 120449754 5238400.67 { 77+, A9s+, KTs+, QTs+, AJo+, KQo }

The last bet was 265 to win 1155 total (assuming villain 1 calls), so I needed 23% equity which I wasn't quite getting.

I played a couple other big pots. In one I 4bet shipped QQ and held up against AJ. In the other I flopped mid set with 55, smooth called a bet on the flop and got shoved into on the turn and made quads on the river.

I think I'll try and play a full day tomorrow.

Re: Grinding up a bankroll to move to Vegas

Today's Results- $294 in 5 hrs

I didn't really play as long as I wanted, feeling a little burnt out despite keeping the heater going.

Here is a hand I played-

The pot is opened for 20 and 1 caller (both loose players), I pick up 88 and 3bet to 60. Everyone folds as does the orginal rasier but the caller comes along.

Flop- Q73
villain says he has pocket jacks check, check

Turn- 6
check, check

River- 3
Now he comes out and fires 80 into 141. I ask him a few questions to try and get a read and given the action I doubt he could have a Q or a flush so I make the call and he shows ace high.

February

Total hours played- 18.5
Average hourly winrate- $48
Winnings- $888

2012 YTD

Total hours played- 159

Re: Grinding up a bankroll to move to Vegas

Today's Results- $45 in 7 hrs

Today I started off the session digging into the hole about 300 but managed to get it back just chopping away at small and medium pots.

I did something kind of embarrassing the other day I forgot to put in here... I was finishing up my session, walking to the cage with 600 in two racks sandwiched together. I was kind of holding the edges loosely with my left hand and suddenly they just flipped apart like a clothes pin. The chips spilled all over the floor, some rolling under near by tables. I just raked the majority into a pile in the middle of the aisle. People were pointing "there's one over there". I got them all together and back in their racks with the help of this nice friendly 85 yr old custodian guy who I tipped then gracefully glided to the cashier using both hands to firmly carry them.

Here is a hand I played today-

I've got AK in mp and raise it to 20 over 2 limpers, 2 more lp villains come along as do the limpers.

Flop- A34
An ep villain bets 100 into 101, he is a loose player and had dropped a few stacks already, he was uncharacteristcal quiet so I thought he might have monster. He had mumbled something while calling reluctantly pf about being priced in, I don't think he would say that if he had a pocket pair so I wasn't concerned about a set. I tank for a little and figure I could be ahead and if not I've got the backdoor fd and outs to a better 2p. I decide to go all in for 125 more, folds back to him and he snaps with A3 and the board bricks out nh sir.

I got in a good session today, induced people to bluff into me and got away with a few double barrel bluffs myself. I haven't had a losing day yet this month but I haven't played as many hrs I would like to have.

Yes, I've been playing the 2/4 whenever it runs. That is the plan for LV but if I hit a bad streak I can always drop back down to 1/2.

There are a lot thing I want to get out of poker this year.

- Play the majority of my hrs at 2/4 or higher
- Study and improve my game
- Win enough to buy a car and pay for gas and insurance
- Move to Vegas for the summer
- Take a trip to Atlantic City
- Maintain a schedule to eat healthy, sleep, workout, socialize, while getting in as many hrs on the felt as I can
- Crush online when it comes back to the USA

dude really AC? yu went to vegas 3 times...AC sucks man

I had my first losing day of the month. I ran bad in a few spots but also made a couple questionable river bets. I wanted to keep the streak alive but oh well no big deal.

I wouldn't mind checking out Borgata for a few days, but I have heard AC doesn't really compare to Vegas.

There really is no other reason to come to AC except the Borgata and maybe the Revel when it opena. I suggest comming during the WPT which is in Sept I believe.

apples and oranges. if you are going to AC for more than just poker, then go in the summer so you can hit the beach and the boardwalk.
