Re: Grinding my way to Mexico (WWKrzyzewskiD)

thx for following guys. Couple hands.

No-Limit Hold'em Tournament, 100/200 Blinds (3 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

UTG (t1600)
Hero (SB) (t1600)
BB (t2800)

Hero's M: 5.33

Preflop: Hero is SB with J, A
UTG bets t1600 (All-In), 2 folds

Total pot: t500

Results:
UTG didn't show
Outcome: UTG won t500

Nittiest fold ever? Btn was 28/22 over 65 filterd bubble hands which is insanely tight.

No-Limit Hold'em Tournament, 500/1000 Blinds (3 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

SB (t3800)
BB (t1050)
Hero (Button) (t1150)

Hero's M: 0.77

Preflop: Hero is Button with 4, J
1 fold, SB bets t3300 (All-In), BB calls t50 (All-In)

Flop: (t2100) 3, 7, 9 (2 players, 2 all-in)

Turn: (t2100) 3 (2 players, 2 all-in)

River: (t2100) 5 (2 players, 2 all-in)

Total pot: t2100

Results:
SB had 7, K (two pair, sevens and threes).
BB had 6, Q (one pair, threes).
Outcome: SB won t2100

Really lost on this hand. I feel like we should be limping a wide range and if zack shoves, calling if bb calls and folding it bb folds. Obv we can only do this because in the event bb and I fold, well have 150 chips next hand and other shorty will have 50.

Question is how wide can we do this? And since its 70/30, cashing isnt that important so we couldnt limp/fold a wide range as profitably as we could in a 65/35. Would love some insight on these hands.

Doing really well so far. Gonna take a short break and get back at it. IDK if 1k games is gonna be possible on playing 2 BI levels, but gonna try to play 4 of the next 6.5 hours and see what happens.

Re: Grinding my way to Mexico (WWKrzyzewskiD)

Hand 1 seems like a nitty fold to me. I probably even call A10o there, but that's probably the bottom.

2nd hand is really tough, and I honestly don't know what the best play is. In game I'd probably just fold it like you did. Situations with a high likelihood of 3 all ins on the bubble are something I am not good at (especially when 2nd in chips. When you are 3rd I think it's a bit more cut and dry). If you've got like a top 25-30% hand I would be more inclined to limp, but I can't see limping too much wider than that.

Re: Grinding my way to Mexico (WWKrzyzewskiD)

1) I would fold AT but not AJ. Are those stats filtered for 3 handed or 3 handed at t200? It's just hard to believe that BB might be shoving less than 25%

2) Im not big on limp folding and leaving ourselves with just a few chips here and killing our chance at 1st, Esp at 70/30 payout. I like folding because 50% of the time we money, but also the times we don't we still have a 1000 chips so if we double next hand we got a good shot at 1st.

Re: Grinding my way to Mexico (WWKrzyzewskiD)

Yeah now that I'm thinking about it, l/f seems kinda bad. Even if BB doubles up you aren't in horrible shape, and still have options next hand even if the other shorty doubles up (like if button and SB push, you could fold a junk hand and hope for the SB to bust)

Re: Grinding my way to Mexico (WWKrzyzewskiD)

That was filtered just for all 3 handed. Maybe too nitty but i think id rather be too nitty than to aggro in that spot, as id say i have a decent edge over the people at the table.

Decent day, wish i could have finished better. Happy with the hours i put in (dont know how many that is but guessing around 8). Volume just sucked cause josh was MIA as were some other regs.

Currently have the 2nd most SNG points behind Edward and am either 4 or 5th overall. If i can just hit a streak i can prob move up to top 3.

Gonna play another shortish session of 6m and then prob play some HU later. Gonna take it easy wednesday, prob like 350 games or so. Wanna make sure im well rested for 2x VIP on thursday.

Raked 230 today so the double VIP promo got me an extra ~30 bucks in VIPs. Not awesome but if i repeat that for the rest of the month itll be an extra 250-300.

Ill try and find some HU hands to post later, really interested in talking HU strat as i never really have w anyone before.

Re: Grinding my way to Mexico (WWKrzyzewskiD)

Thx Mike.

Yeah the more i think about it the more i should call. 60 hands isnt that big of a sample, even filtered. He could have been the middle stack getting pwned in a couple games which would bring down his aggresiveness.

Dante, last month i averaged around 18 tables at a time and maxed out around 22. So far this month Ive been averaging around 15 i think. Im only playing two buyin levels at a time so its hard to get a ton of tables at once unless its during the peak hours. Im gonna start playing more 2s during non peak hours so that should bring my tables up a bit.

Re: Grinding my way to Mexico (WWKrzyzewskiD)

Really crappy day. Cheated and looked at HEM. Ugly.

Not too beat up about it. Had been considering mixing in some 20s if i could get a better streak but i think keeping my abi down and reducing my swings will keep me from dropping my volume during runbad like i usually do.

2x VIP today. Gonna get started now and grind more maybe 3 hours. Going to a viewing party for the Oregon/Cal game tmrw so gonna be done grinding at 6. Goal is to rake $300.

Re: Grinding my way to Mexico (WWKrzyzewskiD)

Had a meh sess. Was winning a bunch of 2s but wasnt cashing much at higher bis. Guess i hit a 5 streak though. It was bound to happen but im glad it did early. Pretty confident i can get top 3 for the month now, maybe higher if i can hit a 6 or 7. Ill think about adding in 20s when theres like 10 days to go but for now the plan is too just put in 600 game days at 2-10s.

Re: Grinding my way to Mexico (WWKrzyzewskiD)

I don't know much about the SNG leaderboard because I play on RPM but the streak bonus seems to have a huge impact. Kinda lame imo.

Anyway, nice going ruse.

Re: Grinding my way to Mexico (WWKrzyzewskiD)

Yeah the streaker bonus def makes it more of a luckfest. As you can see by this screen shot, Im clearly having a better month than the person who would beat me out for 2nd if the month ended today. It is what it is though, and im gonna just keep grinding.

+1 that streaker bonus is lame.

Hey Ruse, was it you that had the graph of like a 200+ BI downswing and recovery? I'd really like to see it again if you have a pointer to it -- needing some hope to hang onto in dark times.

Looking good this month, btw. Keep it up!
