Grinding my way to Mexico (WWKrzyzewskiD)

Hey everybody. My name is Andrew and Im a 28yo super turbo grinder. Ive been a profitable online player for about 5 years, made the majority of my income from poker for the past 4 and have played as my sole profession for 3. I played the 9man supers on FT up until BF and had finally moved up to the midstakes in late March.

Since BF Ive been tentatively planning to move out of the US. I was basically ready to pack my bags once I got my FT roll back, but that was not to be. Ive been grinding on Merge since late April. Id considered sticking it out in the US and staying on Merge but the regged up games and cashout and DOJ issues have made that less attractive.

If i somehow i could have every dollar i have on Carbon (and processing withdrawls) wired to me tomorrow, Id have just enough to move and prob would. But obv thats not gonna happen. Right now my realistic time frame for leaving is mid December. The spot Ive decided on is Rosarito Beach in Mexico. Its insanely cheap, close to my family in Los Angesles, and most importantly outside of the United States.

My realistic time frame for leaving is mid December. I have a check I requested 5 weeks ago thatll hopefully be here within 3 weeks. Then ill request another max check and will be able to leave once it gets here, is deposited and doesnt bounce.

That brings me to my goals for this month. If I can somehow have a sick month and make like 6k+, ill prob just bite the bullet and pay a bunch of vig to trade for a bank xfer. If that happens (and assuming my Sept. 1 check is here by then) Id be able to gtfo in mid november.

So Ill be grinding $5-10 Merge STs like mad all month with the occasional 8.20 HU super turbo mixed in. I find that play HU in the morning (1230ish) before my 6man sessions helps my brain warm up. Playing HU the last month or so has also really helped out my overall game. Also listening to LivB commentate the WSOP livestream made me start looking at postflop poker in ways I never had before.

Just gonna do graph updates every 3 days; Im trying hard to not focus on results this month. I welcome all questions and comments.

Also if you want a good laugh give my old PG&C fail thread a look.(Just dont bump it plz) Come to think of it this April was a horrible ****ing month all around.

Re: Grinding my way to Mexico (WWKrzyzewskiD)

Gonna post my day 1-3 graphs really quick. Pretty happy with my volume though I took it easy Sunday to watch football with my friends. Gonna really need to not do that every sunday. Just sucks cause watching NFL with buddies in your fantasy league is so ****ing fun. Maybe if i put in sick volume other days I can take it easy sunday.

So heres 6max

and HU

Not gonna look at my redline all month, but Im about 6k under chip ev HU and around 60k at 6max. Theres obv ICM at 6m but Cev is $ev at HU so i should be up 32 bucks. Ill post my overall HU graph later, really feel like i could make some decent money from that if i could move up and could grind more and longer sessions.

Ill post some HU hands later, but gotta run now cause its my first every 2xVIP day on Carbon! Gonna get 1k games in today if it kills me.

Good luck my man. I'm assuming you want to get on PS after you settle in Mexico? Do you have plans to shoot for SNE like Josh?

I have to concede it will be nice to see a couple of the best regs leaving Merge here soon

haha yes. Once him and Jd4wg move down south the ST's will be alot softer lol.

Anyway gl ruse. Im also interested in if you planning on making SNE. And how hard it will be playing $30 supers.

Ruse sorry to steal your replies already, but since i have the #'s right here ill post them.

Fwiw, think both myself and ruse will have a higher than 1.5% ROI at the 30's on PS, but calculated at low end ROI's

Regular SNE
Just Hypers:1.5%

$30 hyper:$28.83+$1.17....1.5% roi=$0.43245/game
Avg Rake: 1.17
3000 games/week, 428/day, 156,000 games/yr

$30 hyper: $67,462.2
RB: $103,999.55
Total: $171,461.75

Re: Grinding my way to Mexico (WWKrzyzewskiD)

Ill def get in touch with you here soon Miguel.

Zack, you planning on putting a big grind this month? LB is gonna be really tough this month. Richard already hit a 6 and could easily put in 12k games this month. Now this aaaaallin guy just hit a 6 and hes been playing a ton. Reasons came back today too Im gonna be happy with a top 5 spot this month i think.

Hey Paul, just found out who you were on merge the other day. I dont think Im gonna go for SNE next year. For one idk if im gonna have the roll. Id want to have at least 6k and prob more. I also dont know if im gonna be there for the whole year. Im still kinda hoping legislation will happen but obv not holding my breath.

I think SNE would be doable at the 30 hypers but itd be a tough grind with some pretty sick swings. Im tentatively thinking about playing the 9man hypers. They only have $8s right now i think which is kinda low for what i wanna play. But itd be nice to be able to grind with a 1k roll and prob not have 4 digit swings. Ive looked at some of the ROIs of guys i used to play with on FT and i think i could prob achieve 5%+ 30 tabling. I might be able to play even more than that. I can 16-20 table on Merge wo any stress and 9m are easier to mt than 6m, and having Tableninja do all the registering and close everything is gonna make grinding on Stars a breeze.

That being said, its gonna depend on how soft the games are. If Josh gets there soon and starts crushing them, i might have to rethink things.

Got in a nice 2.5 hour sess. Would guess i only got 180 games in or so. Ive decided im gonna add in 2s during slower times and esp during double VIP days. I looked in my ledger and the dragonflys pay 2 VIPs even though the rakes is only .16. An extra .4 vips per game isnt that huge, but on double VIP days it gets a little better.

Re: Grinding my way to Mexico (WWKrzyzewskiD)

So ruse, if your getting 2 vips per dragonfly that means you don't have a RB account, right?

A 35% RB player would get 1.3 points

Re: Grinding my way to Mexico (WWKrzyzewskiD)

Yeah i made Ether level and dropped rb. So i get 35% vip rewards and then get 10 vips per dollar of rake and can trade in 5k points for 60 bucks. So 47% effective rb normally and 59% during double VIP days.

Woke up pretty early today. Usually would play some HU but need to get htose 1k games in so gonna skip it. gl to everyone todya.

Yeah I'm gonna play a good bit, but I don't have any concrete goals of where I want to finish on the LB. Despite some very close calls, I haven't been able to hit higher than a 4 streak the past 2 months (There were seriously so many spots where I was a 2nd place away from a 6-9 streak, but oh well). My main goal is to move up to the $10's by mid month, and to get lots of rakeback. Top 5 would be great tho, so we'll see I guess...
