last few days have been kind of slow. mostly because I cant see anything. I wear contacts and I have ran out for the most part. I have 2 old sets, but they're uncomfortable and cloudy, and really make it difficult to stare at a screen for hours at a time.

yesterday I was able to set up and appointment and get a new script for contacts and glasses. I ended up buying glasses, which I haven't wore in over 12 years, mostly just for grinding. I think it'll be easier on my eyes, as contacts get dry and uncomfortable after a while anyways. it'll be weird wearing glasses again.

I did end up getting 1 set of new "trial" contacts to get me through until I can order some more. They wont last long so hopefully I can order some new ones soon. But after a $450 trip to the eye dr. and getting glasses, money's a little tight right now.
But since I was able to see, I did get a 3.5 hour session in. It went well, toward the end it started to fall apart, so I called it quits for the night.

Anyways, back to the grind for the day. Possibly see ya guys in the next couple days. Again I'm going to try to update more often, but I'm not making any promises lol. either way I will be back.

So had a couple problems the last couple weeks. I updated PT4 and I couldn't take notes, and my automatic notes weren't being recorded. So after a couple days of ****ing around with it, I finally just downgraded to 4.14.08 and it's working fine now. apparently 4.14.10 and .11 just doesn't want to work for me. Oh well got it working now.

I've also been spending a little more time with the family in the last week. Seems like I haven't really spent time with them at all. I like the hours for a poker player, but having a family makes it hard for the hours. I can't stay up all night and grind like when most people can. I've done it a couple times, but if I do that, I sleep the majority of the day, and miss time with my family. Also I noticed going to bed at a decent time (930-1030pm) has really made me feel more energetic, and mentally better as well. I have a hard time sleeping and I just cant shut my brain off, and I think going to bed earlier has helped. So possibly my hours will change to days during the week, and afternoons/evening during the weekend when the tables are softer.

So I took a shot at 50nl, failed. Went back to 25nl been up and down. Still doing well for the month though, and I'm still beating 25nl at a decent WR.

so here's since the 7th.

Also this was a healthy boost to my BR.

2nd place for $900. Ill take it. I don't play tourneys much because of the time commitment and variance is worse, but ill play one or 2 a month. Felt like I was playing perfect through this, and the last hand V had almost twice my stack, I I was in the SB, raised with 88 and ready to go AI PF, V shoved his 2.5mil chips, well I GII and he turns over KJo. Unfortunately it didn't hold up. But ill the equity over the chips any day, because in the long haul ill have both.

Eh didn't go so well. Lost a few pots, got it in good once against a fish on a FD he caught it. Knocked me down to about 10bb then just got it in with a suited A and lost to AQo. Next time. Anyways I have an update coming in the next couple days

It's been a little over a week since my last update, so here are some things that have happened.

Yeah it ****ing snowed.. first couple of days of spring. merry ****ing Christmas...
If you guys didn't notice that's me trying to shovel my driveway. Love my pink jacket.

Other then shoveling the driveway, I've also been playing some nl50. I'm very unsatisfied of my results. I haven't been losing, but I haven't been winning either. It's been very swingy and just break even. I feel like it's almost been a big waste of non productive time for 13.5k hands. I think part of it's been bad play, but a good chunk I think has been run bad. I'll be going playing around with pt4 and seeing where my leaks are. And actually just went through my DB a little bit just now, and a bit of it is just some run bad. 2p over 2p, set over set, flush over flush. but whatever. It'll turn around. I guess I've been lucky to be break even running like that.

Here's a hand for you guys.. this douche had done this to me like 4 times OTR. twice he showed with like 3rd pair. Would have beat him too.

Here's my nl50 results so far

Really irritated with it. I feel like I've folded so many decent hands OTR due to 4 flushes and straights.

Well enough bitching already.

My wife and I made the final decision to go to Thailand. It's official and happening. first stop is chiang mai. Cant wait. Plan is to leave in nov. after my daughters bday. We plan on staying a while so we want my parents to enjoy my daughters 4th bday before we leave. I need to figure things out because I don't want to come back after 90 days. I hear there's a 1 yr student visa available, and having kids I'm hoping I can get them this visa and put them into some thai language classes as well as my wife and I. We have a little while to figure it out so ill be doing some research.

Until then I'm selling the love of my life, my truck. I've dreamed of having this truck for a while, and ~2 years ago I finally the Nissan Titan I wanted. Now I want the titan XD. Unless I get rich in the next 2 months I'm selling my truck. If any of you guys want a 2012 Nissan titan pro-4x fully loaded lmk. not even 55k miles on it. need ~$20k. was in FL for the first half of it's life and in ME the other. Still no rust, good condition, never had a problem with it.

Anyways time to wrap this up. If anyone has a 3+ bedroom in chiang mai lmk. I'll be there in nov.

We shouldn't call off our stack here with TPTK on this board, but I don't need to tell you that. Super wet board, should be an obvious fold, but you had a history with and info on the player. I've definitely made ridiculous hero calls in these situations using that history and player information and taken down big pots. What'd you do?

That's awesome man. It's very cool that she's on board with it. I've started talking with my girlfriend about the idea of moving over there. She's open to it, but it's a bit further off for us. Although, I can see myself potentially going out there for a short while later this year to check it out.

so this week has been real... meh... I haven't put much time in a the tables, been really busy. My daughter has been in show choir and they ended up going to states. So half of Thursday and all of Friday traveling. Wednesday I took off, not knowing I would be busy Thursday and Friday.

I also haven't really felt myself lately. Not really motivated since Wednesday. I'm thinking most of the problem has been my diet this week. My daughter is celiac so the whole household has been gluten free. I've noticed whenever I now eat gluten, it just doesn't make me feel myself. So most of this week I have just been eating a lot of **** and I'm hoping that's the problem.

I've dropped down to 25nl. Not because I'm not rolled for 50nl but because I think I'm running a little bad, and just want to reduce/possibly reverse the variance. Plus it might be a little confidence booster. So I figured id go and win 10 BI's then move back up to 50nl and take another shot. Depending on when that happens and how fast I get there, I may just wait until next weekend to move back up. weekends are obviously a little easier, plus I want to participate in a bunch of coaching sessions as well. Idk, maybe ill play 1 or 2 tables at 50nl and then continue playing 25nl as well. who the **** knows.

Well I'm going to hopefully go and continue to crush 25nl. I swear a single man could live off this stake. Specially in like asia or something where the cost of living is cheap.

GL at the tables.

Hopefully you're right about the diet, and you can turn it around easily. It could also be burnout though. I'm fighting with that a little bit now. It's hasn't slowed my productivity yet, but I can tell it's affecting me a little bit mentally.

Smart thing to move down. That will surely help the confidence. Who knows, maybe you just needed 3 days off.

Good luck crushing. You'll be back at 50nl in no time.

hey thanks man. Things are going back to normal now that it's settled down a little. will hopefully be back at 50nl soon.

feeling a lot better myself, feeling better about my game, and playing a lot better as well. going through a little downswing since the 26th. Most of it was running bad, but some of it was bad decisions. 2 or 3 days ago I spent the morning going through my hands, and trying to figure out where/what I'm doing wrong. well come to find out it's always the same problem I have when going through a downswing. calling raises a little light. I fixed that right away and the results were instant.

last couple days I've also been running really card dead and under ev. made the best of it yesterday and the day before. but today started quite nicely but ended up under EV and just getting drawn out. ran into set over set for ~150bb's which hurt, 2p into a huge fish, he hit higher 2p OTR. I know this will turn around soon though, specially since I'm playing a lot better.

here's the giraffe since the 26th

gotta love it.
at about 13.5k was today's peak of just over 2BI's. got shut down, and just ran bad and into the top of the fishies ranges.

Doing a challenge this week with a friend as well. no complaining whatsoever for 7 days. going well so far. almost had a couple slip ups like when I ran a set into a set. but closed my mouth in time.

anyways, all done for today.
GL everyone.

Been a short time since my last update.

The last few days I ended up coming down with the flu so I haven't been able to put in the normal volume. But I'm back to almost 100% and playing well. I feel like I've been playing the best I ever have.

There's been a lot of people around me that's been tilting and talking about bad beats quite a bit. One thing I've really come to peace with is tilt. I hardly tilt anymore, nor do I want to. I've come to realize that if I want to play poker for a living, I don't want to stress, and drag myself down my whole life over bad beats and variance. So the last couple months or so I've really been working on letting my results not bother me, and it's really been a success. I also think it's really come to help my game quite a bit, because if a bad beat comes along, It's just whatever, or sometimes I even laugh at it. So I'm pretty happy about getting over that.

Well here's my graph since the 7th.

not really much to say

here's my overall graph so far.

hey guys, been a few days. The last few days haven't been all great. Really been up and down. I feel like I've been playing really well, but just ending up under villains range. Today started really crappy, was down like 3 BI's, then was 3 BI's up, down to 0, back up almost 4 BI's, then the doom switch happened on bovada. Ran into 2p over 2p, flush over flush, straight over straight, getting sucked out. was horrible. ended up -4BI's for today. My biggest loss currency wise so far.

I didn't end up playing as much as I'd like. The last few days have been busy, and a couple days my site wasn't working for some reason. So kind of under hours for last week, and never got to play until today this week.

I did end up going to the casino a couple days since one of my sites weren't working. That went well. Was really playing at the top of my game, chose my spots well, and ended up bring home a little over $500. Think I'll be going back there this weekend and playing some. Was nice to have a change of scenery and play live.

So here are the results since the 16th. Not what I like, just really up and down.

and here's 50nl so far.

still cant tell if I'm winning at it yet. But only time will tell.. so far this has been the most difficult stake to see if I'm winning . I feel like it's just been bad beats. The big dip at the end was just today in like the last hour, which really sucked. Couple fish pulled some huge bluffs on me as well. Oh well hopefully things will turn around and maybe I can make a little more of a profit this month.

Nice thread, subbed

Good choice moving to Thailand. Its a lovely country. Chiang mai is a good choice, it's very nice up there and it has more seasonal change than the centre or south, in the sense that it has an actual 'cool' season. I live in the bkk area and it's just sweltering heat year round. Could sometimes take a break from that tbh

Welcome to the thread man and thanks! One of my goals was to be at 100nl at the beginning of may. A little behind on that so I'm thinking more toward the end of may. I'm rolled for nl100 (over 20 BI's), but coach says I should wait until 30 BI's and of course have a larger sample at 50nl. But I have until November before the move. I really just didn't want to with this summer and was hoping I'd be in a better position to play poker and start withdrawing.

So looks like I'm going to have to get a part time job, probably bar tending or waiting tables some bull **** like that. Maybe I'll go to the casino a few times a week and see if I can make a few hundred. I could probably do with $300-$400 a week. If I could do that every week then I wouldn't have to work. We'll see what happens.

Yeah was a pretty smooth ride up until then. Fortunately I was able to grasp the beast and making money now, as well as at 100nl too.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to put a huge amount of volume in like I was. My stepson ended up in the hospital because he wasn't feeling right. He's been battling major depression, anxiety, random impulses to do things, and has had some manic episodes. He's been on some meds for depression, which recently has made things worse. After years of dealing with this, I think we finally have a diagnosis for bipolar. Which they're hesitant to diagnose because he's only 15.

A lot of people don't quite understand bipolar. They just think it's mood swings, which is partially true. But there's a lot more on top of that. I don't feel like explaining so look it up. But he'll be in the hospital for at least another week with no real time frame.

As for the coaching right now, I'm taking a short break from it because of this. I'm still playing some but there's just too many things that need my attention atm, and will be continuing the coaching at a later date.

Sorry for any typos, as I'm on my "smart phone" which only seems to be smart a small % of the time. Will be posting results here shortly.

There's plenty of info right here on 2+2. Unfortunately you really have to dig through it. There's also some really good books out there. The most useful I think are the no bull**** 6 max from bpc, then the book by blackrain. They're similar. To be honest, you should probably drop down to at least 25nl, find some PF opening ranges, and follow those. You also should really have pt4 and the bovada card catcher so you can review hands. You can really spot some leaks with decent software.

haven't been able to get a lot of volume in, been busy with work, also my son was in the hospital for a while. So we've been really busy driving back and forth to the hospital. Because of this I have taken a break from BPC and concentrate on real life things.

Fortunately my step son is now out of the hospital, and doing okay. Could be a little better but things will get worked out.

As for poker I was on quite the heater and was taking shots at 100nl. Then started to run bad and in about a 13 BI down swing, and 8 BI's under EV, and I'm not beating nl50 at the rate i would like.

Also during the last couple months I decided to take a break from bpc while my son was in the hospital. Probably will be jumping back into the program in the next couple weeks or so and hopefully sharpen my skills a little bit. Until then i think I'm going to play at 25nl/50nl and build my BR and confidence before i start taking shots at 100nl again.

Here's my results since the 24th

almost all my losses have been at 100nl taking shots, and being under EV at both 100nl and 50nl is pretty frustrating. Hopefully things will get better and ill be back on track making money.

As for my goals, the overall goal is still to travel to Thailand, but the location may be different for this winter depending on my step son. He was diagnosed with bipolar and there may be some kind of psychosis included. It's been a rough road for him the last few months as this was the 2nd time he was admitted into a hospital. So before we travel long distances for long periods of time, we want to make sure he's stable.

Well going to hit the tables for a while.

GL
