Re: Fund 12 months around the world playing cards

Sunday morning session complete 1228 hands -$449.30. I'm just getting crushed in showdown pots at the moment. It's a shame really because my non-showdown game I feel is getting much stronger recently. I'm down about -$2k in ev just this weekend but can't really complain just brings me back to even for the month I guess.

Monthly profit now sits at $31.85 (pre-rakeback)

$1.33/hr

Re: Fund 12 months around the world playing cards

Ahhh sweet rostucko. Very happy with how I played today. Started out poorly, ran bad then started playing bad. I was able to stop though when tilt started taking hold. Got out of the house and went for a walk to clear my head. Came back re-focused went back to basics and grinded out of the hole I dug. Solid volume too.

Re: Fund 12 months around the world playing cards

Just a quick session today enough to get 500 ftps and then quit. I realized I'm going to need to do this everyday till the end of the month to qualify at the 'Iron' level. Guess it doesn't really matter but I just get sucked in every month.

675 hands +$5.40

Re: Fund 12 months around the world playing cards

My thoughts are with anyone in Christchurch New Zealand today. Terrible news, the town was struck by 6.3 richter scale earthquake at lunch today.

Sounds like >60 deaths so far. I know lots of people there I hope you are all safe...

Does anyone who watched the video care to give some feedback? I'm very curious to hear some thoughts. I find the video making process quite useful, vocalising my thought process helps focus your mind and make better quality decisions. I recommend it to anyone going through a downswing or looking to improve, even if you never show it to anyone.

Still in Aus, I think I may have been a little premature starting the thread with that title . Last day of work is 11th march and then we fly to Singapore and on to Thailand on the 4th of April. Starting to get that nervous/excited feeling

Re: Fund 12 months around the world playing cards

Just been playing enough to make 500 ftps the last couple days. Done pretty though making a BI+ each time. Not entirely happy with todays session though, felt like I missed a couple good bluffing spots.

I feel like I could have put in a big x/r on this river and made him fold Ax hands. He almost never has a flush or a full house as he would almost certainly bet sets/flushdraws on the flop. I could easily check the flop with a set looking to x/r and x/c the turn when the flush completes.

Looks like HEM might have missed importing some of my hands again as my session tab only has 387 hands for 50 mins 4 tabling rush. Thats the second time I've noticed this makes me wonder how many other hands it's missed and I don't realize.

I always use the HH beta to retrieve Rush hands as Rush seems to miss hands everytime there is a momentary or longer disconnect.

I don't have any specific feedback as I pretty much agreed with your thoughts the whole way through!

Re: Fund 12 months around the world playing cards

I guess I might have to start grabbing HH more regularly from beta too. It's weird, both times I've noticed missing hands its been almost exactly half, like HEM is only importing from 2 of my entries...

Thanks for commenting on the video, must be a bunch of lurkers here 100+ downloads and your the first to comment.

I think I might try making a 400nl video to get out of my comfort zone and get involved in some tricky spots. It's a tough game 400nl rush, I doubt many players are making significantly higher hourly than they could at 200nl. The player pool is much smaller and the weak spots much much fewer.

Are you watching Slowlane's Rush vids on DC? From your vid you look a better player. I'd like to see more of your vids. You do a good job of explaining your thoughts.

I'm from Brisbane BTW. I was in Melb for Aussie Millions but didn't know you were Aussie then. I'll also be in Singapore end of April so I'll just miss you there, too. Have fun on your extended hols and all the best at the tables.

Re: Fund 12 months around the world playing cards

Thanks for the kind words but I wouldnt put myself in Slowlanes category just yet. He's definitely one of the top rush regs, at least imo. One of less <10 players with a purple note.

I'll put a TR in this thread after visiting Singapore check back in if you want read how i found it. Do you play FR? Seems like there are tons of Aussie grinders.

Re: Fund 12 months around the world playing cards

I feel very lucky and grateful that I am able to go on this adventure. I would never have thought that my part time hobby playing a card game would one day give me the freedom to spend an entire year indulging a fantasy like this.
