Thanks for the update, glad you got your interwebs sorted out.

minraises or small raises in Axx 3bet pots always ring bells from regtypes.

LOL @ waterslides - you better tell Galfond

Re: Fund 12 months around the world playing cards

Net is stable now but its costing more than I expected (hoped for). It's kind of hard to tell but it looks like it's costing ~$2.5/day which is worth it IMO as the drop outs were costing much more.

Phil would have loved Vinpearl the slides were actually pretty epic. I honestly had a great day and I'm thinking about going back before we leave.

SCUBA was awesome yesterday, the underwater life wasn't as spectacular as some spots but it was still great fun and for only $60 for two separate dives in two separate locations how can you complain?

Re: Fund 12 months around the world playing cards

Thanks, too bad I can't manage to keep up any consistency... I should re-name my thread "Fund 12 months around the world with rakeback"

I have a big issue with auto-piloting and I often don't even realise I'm doing it for 000s of hands. My WR at my main game is abysmally low and it's entirely due to this.

I feel like if I could only play 100% of the time on my 'A' game my WR should be 3x this...

Re: Fund 12 months around the world playing cards

Came up this this genius idea, hopefully it will help me to realise when my concentration is failing and re-focus. It's tough these days, even at 100nl the game is fairly tough and you really need to be playing close to the best of your ability to win and even then it's only a bbs/100.

Re: Fund 12 months around the world playing cards

Sorry if this has already been covered but how do you schedule your time to play and what is the internet/logistics like (where do you stay, how long, etc.)? I've toyed around with doing this before but whenever i've travelled and tried to play i just find that 1. i can't ever find a place to do it and 2. i simply don't want to play poker while on holiday

Re: Fund 12 months around the world playing cards

I've been playing mostly in the mornings but filling in volume whenever. I don't really have a schedule to be honest just playing whenever I've got nothing planned and feel like it. Because I've taken the whole year off, it's not really like I'm on holiday. The first week or so at each new location I hardly play as there's too much to do but I've been staying in some places for much longer (I'm going to be at my current location for ~6 weeks) so there's plenty of time to grind in between "holiday time".

I've haven't really run into any issues with logistics before now and I'm hopeful I'll be able to sort them out today. I've just been staying in hotels for the most part, apart from a few nights in Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau the rates are dirt cheap (I'm currently paying $14USD/night for penthouse room with huge balcony looking over the sea). It's not been hard to find hotels that have free WiFi in the rooms and until now that's been sufficient to play on.

Check the Travel section on 2p2 for more info. There's a huge thread on Thailand with guys that have been living/playing there for years. We'll see how much it changes when I get into Europe and S America but for now it's been pretty easy.

Re: Fund 12 months around the world playing cards

      TY

QQ hand: V is my "Orange" colour (Maniac), 22/13/5.7 with 100% cbet, 100% turn bet. My original plan was call, call, call. but with the way the board looked on the turn I figured a x/shove would be better to get value from draws/worse overs and also save myself from having to call a river bet on any one of many draw completing cards.

99 hand: V here is "Red" colour (similar to orange but more LAG than maniac), 18/13/5.1 and my plan is the same - Make a hand and let him value town himself. I don't normally set-mine 100bb deep against wide 3betters but this guy is really aggro with a really high barrel frequency so I figure I'd have the implied odds.

      Yay!! New RUSH week inbound.

I am still waiting on a withdrawal I made over a week ago to hit my account . I've sent an email to BlackCard support hopefully they can sort out what the issue is. This is the first time I've not received my $$ with 2-3 days (including several post BF) and I'm a little worried...

Re: Fund 12 months around the world playing cards

Three similar and interesting hands today.

Hand 1: I only have 23 hands on UTG but my initial read is he's a bit of a fish. based on odd stack size. CO is a solid TAG reg; 21/17 with a high 3 bet. On the flop I first call $38 into a pot of $73, I figure I have the implied odd to do this but it's close as CO might not stack off with a set if the flush completes. I then call $125.45 into a pot of $260.45. Against sets only I have ~35% equity and I'm being offered ~2:1 (33%) so I'm happy with the call especially as the fish can definitely have AQ, KK, AA which increases my equity to ~44%

Hand 2: Fairly similar spot with good equity against a reg and a fish. Not sure how I like the regs call to be honest he's only ever going to be crushed or barely ahead. I need to learn how to bink
