THE BET

I have to score 10,000 or more PokerStars TLB (Tournament Leaderboard)points for the month of February. Simple as that. Whether I finish 1st or not in the February TLB is of no consequence. A 10,000+ score has been reached only 4 times (once in 2010) since PokerStars has run a monthly leaderboard. This bet is independent of any Weekly TLB, Yearly TLB, or any head-to-head TLB races.


HOW THE MONTHY TLB WORKS

Your monthly TLB score is the sum of your 20 best tournament finishes based on the following formula: 10*[sqrt(n)/sqrt(k)]*[1+log(b+0.25)] where n = the number of entrants, k is the place of finish, and b = buy-in amount excluding the entrance fee.


ODDS
I will be laid 2.5-1 on up to $20,000 on my end ($50,000 total on yours). I feel this bet is worth 3-1 or better in the month of February, only having 28 days instead of 30-31, but I doubt that I could sell much action at a steeper price. For simplicity, I will be selling 1,000 $50 pieces, but if the number
of bettors gets too out of hands I'll have to bump the share price up. I'm not trying to have 500 different people to account for.


FUNDS
For now, I will just book reserves for those looking to bet. When we get closer to the end of the month we can arrange for a trusted third party to the hold the funds in escrow to be disbursed at the end of February. Reserving now is not in any way binding, we can make additions/cancellations throughout the month.

Yes, that is how the monthly TLB works. It takes your 20 best scoring tournament finishes, according the the formula, and adds those together for your monthly score.

Just want to confirm. In the other forum you said you'd probably only want 1-5 shares. You are reserving $15,000 (300 shares), correct?
