Nice post wang. I agree with most of it except for the part about not playing suited connectors HU. Sure they play well multiway but I find they play just fine HU in position. Perhaps you are playing too fit or fold on flops where you don't hit hard. There are villains that I will fold a suited connector to their raises because a) their range is strong and b) they aren't going to fold much and c) we aren't deep enough for me to rely on implied odds alone.

I will play them HU if we are deep, but I try to stay away from them unless it's multiway or I am stealing. I may add some more SCs.. I love when you flop monster draws that are favorites over TPTK hands
February 8th, 2012: No hands.. I took a break.. had a doctor's appointment and didn't sleep well the night before so I slept the whole day basically
February 9th, 2012:
Bankroll: $231.24 ( Withdrew $40)
Hands: 1,509
Total Won (w/ RB): +$18.42
I really am now serious about no longer playing MTTs. I will only use VIP pts from now on. MTTs were the only downfall when I first was trying to grind a roll.. (Other than me being a total/utter donk :P)
I feel like I am competent enough, and can play better than most players at 10nl, but I need to put in a lot of hands. I have ran bad, but that doesn't matter. Everyone runs bad. It's no excuse.. (Unless I lose 23.2 BI in my next session by going all in as a favorite and losing :P, 23.2 BI aka my roll)
Here's a hand that I tried to bluff and lost 1 BI in..
Villain is 18/10, 3% 3b, Fold to 3b of 54% over 2.1k hands..
I cbet flop in hopes that he would fold.. He folds to 60% of Cbets.. He callson this flop with JJ,QQ,KK,AA.. AK sometimes to float the turn.. Well the turn is like the ugliest card in the deck for one pair hands.. They would have a one card flush draw if they called my shove.. I'm not sure if it's that good of a shove.. There are a lot of hands that can have 1 pair beat in my range.. esp since I have a wide 3b range.. about 7%..
Any thoughts? I would have not bluffed if villain was like 25/20 but 18/10 seemed a bit more reasonable.
personally i wouldve shut down on that flop as u can expect his 3b calling range to be full of said one pair hands that will call u at least once and more likely twice if they have a fd ott. if u had a spade a bet shove line is fine imo but being absolutly naked i think c/f flop c/f turn is weaker but less -EV overall.
hey guys, I took a break because it was my birthday and had little energy to grind before that..
I did play a few times, but didn't post results.
I had one session where I lost 8 BI in one and a half hours.. 2 were bluffs that didn't work.. 5 were normal plays.. 1 was a bad play.. It hurt =( I recovered from it partially.. I had a +$38 session yesterday mostly 4nl..
I'm at $180. I guess I had another rough session too.. I'm down like $50.. I'm going to start grinding more.
Hey guys, I got sick. I took a break. I'm at $180 right now. I'm thinking on whether or not it's possible for me to still get to 60k hands.
(I'll post more details later tonight.)
I made a new thread for March!
I'm ready to go for March's promos
I should be at 25nl in no time! Basically February was a big learning experience.. I studied a LOT.. now I'm finally healthy enough to put in time for poker.. Honestly, LazyAce is my inspiration.. I wish he would start posting again
