MTT sessions can be though. What kind of music do you listen to, I have some techno/deephouse sets if you are interested.

I listen to a lot of hip hop, electronic and vocal trance music. They get me in the zone man.

I think I have finally gotten my PT4 Trial to work and it is importing properly. Time to grind and find out. Hoping for a solid February!

Hey man, been following along but not sure if I've posted ITT yet

GL with your hu hypers goals, I am playing them as well. Finishing up 2 years in Australia and New Zealand and then come December of 2015 I should be headed out your way for 6 months or so. Hopefully we are both playing $100s by then

What sort of BRM are you looking at using as far as when to give $30s a shot? I imagine you'll be sitting pretty weak regs at first since, as I understand it, the "$30s cartel" is still pretty poorly put together haha

Ya I started 15s this year so I've only been at Stars for a little over a month. It feels as though at this rate, I may be at 15s for another two months, unless I work harder. As for playing 30s, when it comes to cartels, I really do not know too much about them. From what I do know, I'll just play the 2800 games vs anyone I have to, don't really care who. My main issue at the moment is that PT4 was not working for me, so when I do try it out, I need to have software running/tracking properly. In terms of a bankroll, I'd ideally like to have at least 3k. Best of luck with your journey as well man!

The month has not started very well, I have started on a DS, but I hope to grind out of it. Aside from that, PT4 does not work very well as it does not track my tournaments accurately. It does not say the right profit/loss and considers most games a loss. Although, the chip count graphs seem to work fine, which is weird. Anyone know how to fix this?

1. I have not been able to get PT4 to work properly since I started my free trial. I have been in contact with support back and forth for nearly a week now. Hoping to get it all sorted out, for some reason it does not track/import properly.

2. Therefore, had to manually import all my HHs that I requested from Stars in order to see accurate results and EV and all that.

3. I am very busy with school right now, will not be playing any poker for the rest of the week since I have midterms to prioritize.

4. Live poker has been calling my name, might have to check it out this weekend for some fun with my buddies.

5. Will most likely be joining the gym as I need more physical activity in my life and added areas of positivity will never hurt. It is about time I stop being so lazy.

6. Below is my month to date:

It has been a disappointing month so far to say the least. It all begins with what I can control, which consists of volume and discipline. I have not put in enough volume, partly due to being busy with university midterms. All I can do is continue to grind and improve and put in more volume.

Apart from that, I have been running pretty badly and PT4 has confirmed it for me. I'm not big on EV tbh, but it does give some added insight. Additionally, PT4 has been brutal for me to try and configure. Nothing seems to work. I have been in contact with both PokerStars and PT4 support for over a week, and nothing has improved the situation. Essentially, PT4 just does not track my games properly and for some reason just always says I am losing, even when I win. It also says I am losing more than I am etc. Does not show the proper 500 chips/game, instead shows weird variations of 200-300 chips etc, which does not make sense.

I have played live a few times and basically lost ~84 throughout 2 sessions. The first session, I literally sat there card dead for 3 hours and watched everyone destroy the fish/whale at the table. The second session, I held my own and did decently, but eventually just left since my table was reg infested and not a good spot to make money. I would have changed tables, but I was tired so I just left. Live is so much different than what I play, I am learning a lot though and it can be enjoyable. Although, I do not think I'll play live again until I have a decent bankroll for it and will start tracking it when I do with an app on my phone.

Fortunately, the month is not over yet and I still have time to grind hard and achieve some positive results .

gl on the challenge. Im stuck at these 15s to for a while i guess. cant really understand why haaaay would sit you all the time. hes never rematched me nor sat my lobbies etc. and i dunno why a reg would try and play another reg at 15s with such good action infront of yourself all the time

He runs well against me and he plays decently. I don't know if it is just the cd but he always has it against me or always has me out kicked etc. Has yet to answer me in chat, so who knows. Maybe we've played before also haha. Thanks for the support!

To be honest with you, I never really got into videos nor do I study very much. That is not necessarily a bad thing, but it definitely does not help. I am always thinking about hands and how I can play them better and how I can be better though. I heard the HUSNG videos are good, but I personally was not a fan. My advice would just to have 100 BI and one-table until you can two-table and work on your game and try your best to never tilt/think about money. Thanks for the support man.

Have been trying to grind a lot for the remainder of the month. I really am trying to play my best and hoping for variance to turn around. I have yet to fix my PokerTracker4, which sucks since my free trial month was basically a waste and I did not get to see if I liked it or not. I think the issue is that not all of my tournament summaries are saving properly, and PokerStars has not been able to resolve the issue yet. Hopefully, they can sort it out.

I have been playing some MTTs here and there lately as to mix in some variety into my grind. Last night I final tabled a 6Max 8.80 and busted 6th (which is the position I entered final table) for about 176$. Not quite the result I was looking for, but I'll take it.

Don't think I will make it to 2k games this month which is disappointing, but understandable since I had exams. I'll try and play as many as I can though.

MTT's variance can be brutal, but gl in the live game! Really need to play live again too.

They really can, I busted semi-deep in the Hot 7.50 99 vs AKo aipf for 2nd in chips river K ball.

Anyways, as for my live session last night it was essentially a -42.00$ session since I had to leave because my lift was leaving. I am happy with my play, maybe I played a little too tight, not sure. Here were some spots.

1/2 game

V1 (~250): older white male, just sat down
V2 (~180): young kid, has not really done too much, not sure about him, probably a rec
Hero (~215): young tanned male, has not been out of line/seen much action

The pre flop action results in 4 limps pre flop and hero looks down at KhKd in BB. Pops it to 13 and gets two callers.

Flop (~43) 10h7h6c

Hero bets 25, V1 calls, V2 folds

Turn (~91) 8d

Hero checks. V1 Overjams 162. Hero?

V1 (~100) young skinny white male, I think he was a rec, has not done anything crazy

Limped pot, flop is seen 6 ways, Hero has Q6s in BB and opts to see flop.

Flop (~12) Qd8d4d

Hero checks, V1 bets out 4 and gets two callers, I call as well.

Turn (~28) 6c

Hero leads out 12, only one V1 calls.

River (~52) Kc

Hero decides to make a blocker/value bet and bets 15. V1 raises another 20. Hero?

FEBRUARY OVERVIEW ♔

In hindsight, it was not the greatest month overall. Not only poker wise, but life wise. I am pretty glad that the month is over, but part of me is also proud. The reason for being proud is because I started the month on a downswing and continued to fight through it and it eventually turned around. I definitely think there is value to accepting the variance and semi-conquering it. I would say conquering, but I do not believe that the variance was bad enough considering what I have seen others endure.

At the beginning of the month, I did download a free trial of Poker Tracker 4 and to my dismay, I could seem to have it function properly. After many emails between Poker Tracker Support as well as PokerStars support, the problem was somewhat identified. The tournament summaries were not saving properly, so as a result the data was inaccurate. Therefore, in order for the PT4 data to be correct, I had to request full hand histories from PokerStars and then manually import them into PT4. I would like to buy the PT4 software, but there is no sense in doing so until I resolve this issue. With that said, I am in contact with PokerStars support and am trying different things they recommend. Hopefully, it gets resolved.

✫ 15$ Hypers ✫

Naturally, the 15$ Hypers are my main grind and what I think I am best at right now. I will continue to grind them and am looking forward to just putting in solid volume tbh. Coming off a weak month, the focus needs to be on solid volume. The results do not seem to bother me as much as they used to, which is a positive. Although, I should definitely be thinking of a moving up strategy within the next few months. The main question I have regarding moving up to 30s is whether or not it is even worth it. I have heard the lobbies are very slow and the battling for a spot is not very appealing.

[ ] 2000 Hypers
[ ] 3.5-5% ROI

✫ MTTs ✫

My MTT volume was not the best, but I definitely have a love-hate relationship with them. I think I was marginally profitable this past month which is good. MTTs have ridiculous variance so they require a lot of volume and understanding/spot studying. I will definitely play them here and there when I want a change of scenery.

✫ Live Poker ✫

As for playing live, I definitely consider myself a rookie at this point. I think I have a better understanding of the game as well as an advanced thought process, but it comes down to lack of experience/bankroll. I have limited myself to only playing on weekends when the games will contain more rec players, since I do not think I am adept enough to play at reg tables yet. I would be better off just grinding online. I am not entirely sure how much I lost playing live, but it was not very substantial, not even one BI.

Month Results

Profit: ~850.00$
Live Poker: -110.00$

Overall, the lack of volume was due to having midterms for university and other school related work that I had to prioritize. I plan on moving on from that ****show month and grinding. I look forward to further improving and crushing. Bring on March Madness!

My PT4 trial has expired and I will not be buying the software since I have yet to resolve my tournament summaries issue. PokerStars said that they sent the issue to the experts, so hopefully they figure it out. Might have to get SharkScope back...

Need to put more volume in this month, I think I have only played ~120 games for the first three days, so time to grind!

Was a pretty gross day poker-wise. I bricked MTTs and last one essentially punted...Horrible feeling. Hypers were no better as I had an issue with my SharkyStrator which I quickly sorted out thanks to garlic?

Not sure because I also uninstalled/re-installed Stars. The issue was that Sharky was loading up more than the 2 games I had in the settings and was not planning on stopping, so I had to stop it manually. Luckily, the most it loaded up before I stopped it was 4. I think I can 4 table fine, but would definitely feel more comfortable with 2/3. I have yet to really 3 table hypers, but I know I could. Maybe I should?

Basically, the issue had something to do with hiding my bankroll balance we think. After it was sorted, variance took its course and I cringed through most of the volume. That's poker folks.

Also, ran into two spots I was unsure about and posted in the HU section.
