Re: education of a SRP (serious recreational player) 2.0 - uNL 6max version
Yeah the donk/min.re-raise from fishy players is always something like the nuts. It's very likely that the bottom of his range is a straight. Unless he is some kind of a maniac i'd call the min.re-raise and hope to hit a boat on the river.
Re: education of a SRP (serious recreational player) 2.0 - uNL 6max version
i've been playing just for fun this month. did have a tilting session yesterday where i dropped down 6,5 BIs pretty quickly, where i got set-overset three times (wtf!) and started playing like a donk. before that i think i was playing my best poker ever (yeah i know it is 10NL), i was running like 15bb/100 without running particularly well
Re: education of a SRP (serious recreational player) 2.0 - uNL 6max version
no running too well, couple of interesting hands.
I did focus on finding good spot to float otf + raise ott vs. people who like to double barrell. working well so far.
then I got a 15/12 nit cold 3betting me and calling a shove with JJ vs. my KK...have to enjoy that!
V is a loose passive fish. I think he would raise all of his value hands otf or ott so i when i bet turn i planned to bet most rivers as well if only called
V is a loose aggressive fish over a small sample. obv he doesnt have a K and I think he wouldnt bet turn + bet river with a smaller pair and it is a small portion of his range as well
V is unknown, looked fishy but I've seen him cc cc cf otr once already.
i think he can really call me otr with only KQ, assuming he raises 2p+ otf or ott
V is a TAG reg with 10% 3b and cbet 2/2 otf and 2/2 ott in 3b pot.
I think he 3bets me with even a wider range preflop. my plan was to raise him ott to exploit his tendency to double barrell
V is a nitty reg, double barrell happy (given his strong range pretty normal), but with low wtsd (18). i think this board gives me a ton of FE, especially if he is willing to fold Ax. river card is not the best though
Re: education of a SRP (serious recreational player) 2.0 - uNL 6max version
5Jo: BB is very nitty. SB looked like a straightforward fish. it is not a huge +EV spot though so folding is what i would suggest pretty much always.
64s: well it depends. that sizing is not bad if the BTN is folding a lot regardless of pot odds. with this SPR and IP i am not folding any suited or connected hand ever, esp if I have reads like in this case. suited hands and Ax work really well vs. people who like to double barrell.
just lost 2 BIs: AI preflop with 44 vs. AQ vs. an aggrodonk. + called a a CRAI ott with JJ on TxxQ double flush draw with JJ. V had AK and hit A otr. i am making good reads but i dont get paid
Re: education of a SRP (serious recreational player) 2.0 - uNL 6max version
KK hand looks like a sigh fold most of the time. That line tilts me so much you can feel the pause on the river as they are deciding how much to bet.
Q7 I dont think we get that many folds on the river after he has called the turn but its hard for him to have a big hand the way he played it. It just tilts me when they call with 3rd pair lol
A9s looks a good hand. Lol at his please fold sizing on the river. What do people think when they bet so small with air?
J5 I probably give up on the flop. As played though the turn card is good to take the line you did for the rest of the hand.
64s Love the min raise with the intention of calling WHEN he 3bets as we expect him to a lot. Im not sure i like the turn raise though iven our hand. I think we are bluffing with the best hand a lot of the time.
77 Hand im not over keen on and would probably check back the river as i dont expect to get a fold that often and want to see what sort of hand he calls the raise with.
TJ i might go smaller on the river as i doubt he has a Queen that often, might try and get him to spaz here by looking really weak when it looks like he could have been on some sort of draw.
Re: education of a SRP (serious recreational player) 2.0 - uNL 6max version
mart, nice thought on the 64s hand. when i flatted pre my thought was to float pretty much any board and to raise any turn with any 4 outer +. he simply cant barrell that range so often to be calling enough. but with sdv bluff catching another street is better
ok, it is getting gross. I mean, can I run normally? it is a pain to be constantly losing EV wise, the whole 2012 has been like that on a LOL sample size, but the sample size is LOL just bc I can't seem to hit a good run.
anyway 2,5 BIs up. I need to tighten up a bit bc i am losing money from EP, so i decided to add 2 tables (6 total). ended up playing 33/25 insted of 38/31 (which has been my standard in the last 10k hands), mainly cutting out some 2 gappers and weak broadways (i like sc bc they allow you to stay aggressive ott). so far so good. i think i have to work out which type of hands work better in any different spot vs. different players. you know you are doing it right when you see your stats like 50/40 at nitty tables and 26/21 at tables with fishes/regs.
Preflop: Hero is MP with Q K
Hero raises to $0.40, CO calls $0.40, 2 folds, BB calls $0.30
Flop: ($1.25) 3 6 K (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.90, CO folds, BB raises to $3.91, Hero calls $3.01
Turn: ($9.07) K (2 players) River: ($9.07) 2 (2 players)
Spoiler:
Results: $9.07 pot ($0.49 rake)
Final Board: 3 6 K K 2
Hero showed Q K and lost (-$4.31 net)
CO mucked and lost (-$0.40 net)
BB showed K T and won $8.58 ($4.27 net)

If he has an overpair or a set we are going to stack off anyway bc he won't fold to a line that looks like a semibluff. This line works well vs. this type of players (this time he was slightly favourite, but most of the times not). Sometimes at 50nl they used it vs. me and they trapped me, so now when i recognize players that will think 'why is he checking on a drawy flop?' i use it.
Re: education of a SRP (serious recreational player) 2.0 - uNL 6max version
at this pace i am going to move down pretty soon.
but i am getting better: only 5 BIs down in EV since i started playing again over 7k hands. it's nothing, but since the beggining of this year is pretty sick to know that i am losing 3,5bb/100 hands only in EV over 50k hands 10nl-50nl. i am getting used to it...lol.
16BIs down in the last 17k hands...unbeatable i guess
