This is it! This is the year I finally move to that idyllic suburb of Las Vegas called Value Town!

For the background on my quest to move to Value Town, check out my Donk Tales post from a few months ago.

Starting right now, right here with my 2k post, I am going to make this year mine as a poker player. I am a long time poker donk, but I have embraced it and owned it finally! This year I am going to prove to myself that I can make enough at the tables to justify moving the 180 miles from my house in California to the promised land in Value Town, and live out my years enjoying poker as an income hobby.

The goal is to make $10k this year exclusively at the poker tables, including RB and any bonus from poker related activity. I will be playing micro PLO and NLHE, along with a few MTT donkaments. Only online play will count towards my goals, and I will post update every Sunday with progress.

When I reach the $10k profit goal, I will be moving to Value Town (or one of the other suburbs of Vegas) to retire. I plan to play poker as a hobby, but not have it be a financial drain, instead a nice second income for my golden years as I turn 55 this May

Come along for the journey! I will try to include insight into the mental challenges I will face, in addition to the raw statistics and graphs I will be posting weekly. My online BR right now on BCP, RPM and Minted will dictate that I begin the journey at 4PLO, 4NL, and under $5 MTT's - but I will be moving up stakes during the year to make the profit goal easier. If I bust my current online roll, then I may redeposit if still less than halfway through the year, and to take advantage of any bonus opportunities.

Forgot to post update last night, not a great start to first week, but up a total of $22.54 (only $9977.46 to go!)



Did not get to play near the volume I wanted last week, and no MTT played either, have to get busy this week!!

I have been playing mostly NLHE, will try to get more PLO in this week and a few MTT's maybe this weekend

Now I have some of my roll waiting for Everleaf to process (we hope), as they have closed to US, French and Maltese players.

Looks like I have to make some adjustments to my game plan, will update Sunday.

I was up a little at Minted this week, but not sure if I should restart the count now that I am unable to play on Minted. Looks like Merge is where I will have to do this journey, although I am looking at ACR also as a possibility.

I'm a day late with my update ofc, tough week with Everleaf closing to US players. I moved play to Merge for now, but am planning on playing MTT's on ACR starting later this week, so hopefully that will be a boost to my profits, Merge can be tough IMO

Was thinking about taking a few days off from cash games at least, I ran so horrible over the weekend. So this week will be mostly small buyin donkaments and very little cash games I think.

Low volume week, I tried doing some review and study, watched a couple DC vids and skimmed a book a friend gave me, just trying to get back in a comfort zone with cash game. Played ok this week in the few sessions I did, so that was encouraging.

This last week has been nothing but run bad in MTT's, which happens obv sometimes but still is frustrating. Going to play more cash this coming week, hope to get some volume and maybe take a break from the tourneys (only have a handful planned this week).

As planned I took a break last week from MTT's and played cash, incl some LHE, and a few SnG's to break up the games a little. Planning this week to play the same mix, hopefully more cash volume. Also going to do at least one or two DC vids on LHE to review, probably going to replace NL with that since its softer, play just that and PLO in ring games going forward.

Capped the week off with a nice surprise VIP freeroll cash, even tho I hate freerolls and rarely do I run deep in them

Kept the same mix last week, mostly cash play with a few SnG and only 2 MTT.

This week I'm planning on playing even more cash games, again trying to find a schedule where I can play more volume since results have been decent. This is the same struggle I have had for years tho, always trying to get a reasonable volume, not sure why I can't sustain, need to find a volume goal that is workable lol

This last week was kind of meh, had some other things going that took much of my time so I did not get in near enough volume (familiar story I know).

Staying with same mix as the past couple weeks, at least its steady progress, but will need to move up stakes soon to begin making substantial progress towards goal.

Still struggling with MTT's lately

This weeks goal is to begin taking some shots at higher limits and buyins, not ready to move up yet but I want to get ready for later this month, fingers crossed.
