Destroying 500NL Zoom, minichallenge Destroying 500NL Zoom, minichallenge

09-12-2012 , 04:27 PM
Ran and played pretty bad last 5-6 weeks, so gonna try to up my volume and motivation a bit by starting this minichallenge.

I'm gonna grind 100k hands of 500NL Zoom in the next 20 days at minimum 6 EV bb/100

I will post some graphs every few k hands, post the most interesting/ridiculous hands and berate the sunrunners.

sn Otb_RedBaron and starting the grind right now.

Nice challenge, GL

Do you think 6bb/100 is achievable @ 500 zoom with players like Anski, AE jones, KT clubs, Old jude, Slowlane123, gbtl always in these games? I've been told that the line up is extremely extremely tough

Whats your zoom experience prior to this? Previous games/stakes/winrate?

lol the line ups can be pretty tough but the sickos are definitely 4bb+, few of the players you listed are really the top regs though, imo
specifically as zoom regs, not talking about their actual capability as poker players etc since that's possibly a bit different.

op is the man

I think 6bb is possible if I run into like the top 25% of my rungood over 100k hands, it's true there are some excellent regs but those are a minority imo also a lot breakeven SNE grinders, crappy 50bb stackers and some coaches and prob like 1/8 fish.

I dont know al of the nicks (who are Ansky, gbtl) , but K10clubs seems the better one out of that list from what I've seen, oldjude and aejones were spewing very hard when I played them.

I played a tiny bit of 100NL, 200NL Zoom when it just came out, then I had >6bb/100 over 150k hands at 500NL, next 150k were only 0.5bb/100.

atm more like Zoom destroying me

I even had to do a 2knl sesh to fund this challenge!

fwiw cant say 2knl is much harder then Zoom if harder at all (obv not basing this on this sample eh, more a general impression) 1.6bb/100 less rake to beat is fairly substantial and if there's a fish at the table there always will be atleast 2 bumhunters who won't be better then a solid Zoom reg.

    Now back to Zoom!

Hi, do you think Zoom is bad for your improvement as a poker player? I mean, I play 50nl normal games now, and thinking about switching to Zoom, but still want to move up. What do you think about this?

            Gl with your challenge!

I don't think it matters that much for your improvement wether you play Zoom or normal games. Zoom is prob better since you don't waste time gameselecting and can play more. And number one factor in improving as a player is still playing a lot.
