I've been thinking about my life as a pro player, and realize now how lucky I was and how I wasted it all. Of course playing for 6+ years I had bad runs so debilitating that will literally made me puke. But even in my worst year I've never stopped loving the game and had enough to live quite nicely and spend some. OMG so much of it, its ******ed that now I am basically broke.

So many times I will be having the best couple of months, and then for no reason at all (other than to party, play COD or hang out with GF) stop grinding for months until almost broke and then wake up from my paralyzing state and grind as mad, until attaining once again a healthy bankroll. Just to stop playing and do it all again, and again, and again..

And so one more time I have to start from scratch, but is different this one, it has to. I will make the most of it, and give it my all. I don't have a numeric goal because the goal is to change myself, to focus in a new goal every time i attain one. I feel I am finally ready to start over again and never look back. Hopefully.

This time around I will be grinding my favorite game PLO and O8, but far from my best, cause I've never studied it profoundly. Also I mostly read, watch and play poker alone (have a lot of friends in the poker world, just didn't study with them) and although I've been a coach I had never been coached myself. I plan to do differently this time and as soon as my bankroll will allow it I plan on taking coaching or coaching/staking I feel that having someone following my struggles with this new project and helping with it, or simply talking about it, will not only make me learn faster obviously, but also serve as accountability and at the core be proof that this time is different, that I will get there and stay there.

First Three Goals:

1. Play at least three one hour sessions daily. I play short sessions in which I try focus at maximum. This strategy I devised to plug a leak my poker tracker showed in longer sessions. Any ideas to play better for longer will be much appreciated.

2. Read two hours per day about PLO and O8 any recommendations?

3. Watch one hour of videos.

I'm also considering also joining or starting a study group, but don't know if this is a time effective way to learn...

Tip for lengthening your sessions is doing it slowly. Start with one hour sessions and once you feel like you still want to play more, add 15 minutes. Its important to feel tired at the end of the sessions which indicates your making progress. After four-five sessions that tiredness is gone and you can add another 15 etc.

Good luck.

I can play long sessions without getting tired (apparently) but whenever I reviewed this sessions it was evident my best results were in the first 60—90 minutes.

second day:

[IMG][/IMG]

again not a lot of volume, but decent results, im starting to go to war with regulars more, some of them aggros that are making me fold in tough spots hence the red line keeps droping, but my bluff catching is improving a lot and my reads have been acurate, will post some hands later.

two hour reading = done

one hour video= done

three short sessions= done

rough session, 400 bbs smoked in nada, reviewed them and I think I was pushing some small edges and it was variance, or maybe i suck, time will tell

missed the reading and video time, this is not going to end well if I start slacking so early

what you guys do after a day like this?

my red line is staying shy is this normal for PLO? i've always had a high red line in NLHE

Mine is pretty flat too, I think its more a sign of the stakes you are playing. Expect your red line to be more of your income at higher stakes.

Will you please explain why?

He is playing 75% with an AF of 6.5 so I figure he is firing pretty much all his range vs my missed CB... plus his sizing is to big for a set as to previous hands he played. Turn is about the same. River std as played. He is so polarized, there is too much air in his range. The turn is a good card for us, I'm probably folding a lot of bad turns. But I still think is a profitable flop call.
