So I have played a session every day since last Wednesday. Wednesday through Saturday went beautifully. For the majority of the time, everything went my way. My sessions were extremely short as a result, I do not think I have ever played for a Friday night for 3 hours only, but I was exhausted from the move and found myself yawning too much for my liking at the tables.
Sunday came a long and looked like everything was going to ****. From Sunday to Monday (until it turned around), I lost 5 pots of around $600 to $750 total, on the turn, with 70-75% equity in hand. Lost every one. I lost one pot worth $770 on the flop with a 50% equity. I lost an $890 pot, 3 way, with 60% equity against 2 and lost. I did not win any other pots of this magnitude during this period of time.
I lost $950 on Sunday before calling it a night, and was in for $800 and sitting on $180 before things started to turn around for me. Since keeping track of sessions, this was definitely my first true sign of adversity. I found at times on Sunday i was not on my game as the cards were not going my way. I allowed too many pots to get bloated before seeing the river, this is something I am usually very good at controlling.
Monday started to look the same, I took a 5 minute prep talk to myself, ordered some food and started playing my game again. This is where I was at shortly before cashing out.
Overall, I was happy with these 6 days and how I was able to control my emotions. I have in the past just started to playing extremely poorly to try and chase loses.
Here is summary of sessions for the last week. Overall, cannot complain one bit.
Summary of stats. In last post, I said I did not even want to bother. I was running at $104 per hour over 41. I know these numbers are still abnormally high but I will take it while they last.
Took an afternoon trip to Canmore on Monday, had some food and drinks, probably one of the best burgers I have had in awhile. BBQ pulled chicken. I did not want to look like a tourist so only took some quick photos in the back seat heading in. Crazy to think just an hour away.
Next weekend is start of that live tournament series. I am going to play in event won for sure, a $550 deepstack with $100K guarantee. I am hoping there is a good turn out. Going to re evaluate how feeling the following weekend about playing in the $1,500 main event.
I am sure in the meantime since so close to casino I will have a few short sessions throughout the week leading up to the event.
