Re: A broke HU veteran's quest to 100k
I'm gonna call it a day.. too bad it ended below 0 but I think I played very good today. Don't regret any play and basically just had some negative variance against a fish who joined with $15 and hit hand after hand after hand He left with close to $200 lol.
Also played 500 hands against a regular who wanted to 2 table me after I lost 2 buyings to him. Pretty much owned his soul throughout the whole match and went from -100 to +150 and then lost AK<AQ preflop allin I quit shortly after cuz I'm tired and the only reason I would still play is to have a positive day lol.
I always tend to grind harder and longer when I'm down... definately not optimal =)

Re: A broke HU veteran's quest to 100k
Here's the story against fish

River: ($16.50) J (2 players)
Hero checks, SB bets $9.50, Hero calls $9.50
Total pot: $35.50
Results:
SB had A , 6 (flush, Ace high).
Hero had K , 10 (two pair, Kings and tens).
Outcome: SB won $34.75
BB ($44.89)
Hero (SB) ($55.40)
Preflop: Hero is SB with Q , K
Hero bets $1.25, BB calls $1
Flop: ($3) 9 , 3 , 8 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks
Turn: ($3) K (2 players)
BB bets $2, Hero raises $6, BB calls $4
River: ($15) K (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $14, BB raises $37.39 (All-In), Hero calls $23.39
Total pot: $89.78
Results:
Hero had Q , K (three of a kind, Kings).
BB had 8 , 8 (full house, eights over Kings).

Turn: ($6) 9 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $4.50, BB calls $4.50
River: ($15) J (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $8.50, BB raises $27.50, Hero folds
Total pot: $32
Results:
BB didn't show
BB ($129.31)
Hero (SB) ($50)
Preflop: Hero is SB with Q , Q
Hero bets $1.25, BB calls $1
Flop: ($3) 10 , 10 , 4 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $1.50, BB raises $4.50, Hero calls $3
Turn: ($12) K (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $9, BB calls $9
River: ($30) 2 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks
Total pot: $30
Results:
Hero had Q , Q (two pair, Queens and tens).
BB had K , 10 (full house, tens over Kings).
Outcome: BB won $29.25
...You get the picture Probably misplayed some hands as well along the way cause having a super shortie who runs hot is pretty tilting. You basically spend time grinding to eventually win less than if you didn't play him because of rake.

Re: A broke HU veteran's quest to 100k
Back up on my feet and up $70 today
Taking it easy, only 400 hands. Tomorrow is another day.
Played a reg and was able to tilt him insanely by 3betting almost every single hand because he kept folding preflop. Once he started flatting he got out of his comfort zone and made ****load of mistakes. Felt awesome. He left after I took 2 buyins, of which one was actually mine though.

Re: A broke HU veteran's quest to 100k
I'm sad to say I haven't been able to play a lot of hands these last few days. I took a 12hr flight on Monday and have been experiencing some jetlag... Often feeling tired and also quite busy doing other things. Meh
Tried to play a session yesterday but it didn't work out well. Got to play a villain who seemed to be very crazy/aggressive in the beginning but turned out to be a nit that was running hot. Los a few buyins against him.
I really hope that I'm not unconsciously trying to avoid playing or looking for excuses not to play. Cause that's kind of how I messed it all up before. On the other hand I also don't want to force myself to play when I'm not feeling good about it... I should probably just get some rest?
I also noticed I have some problems playing weak/passive villains with a very high river aggression factor, should definately check that out.
