Re: 2012: from micros to midstakes

please please dont play tight at zoom! its full of idiot nits who fold all the time

its so funny cuz my zoom approach doesnt really work at normal tables cuz people call a lot more but in zoom they always kinda think mh i can just quickfold and get dealt aces so thats what they end up doing.

the toughest opponents i face in zoom all kinda play 26/21 or sth like that with 8+% 3bet and i guess i take the same approach. juicy juicy

and also, 6max zoom is so much nicer to play cuz AA vs KK encounters are so much rarer than at fullring zoom which is great against tilting :P

Re: 2012: from micros to midstakes

So what's the general strategy? 3bet polarised with a bit more bluffs, get value from the nuts and make intelligent bluffs vs regs? I might have to give it a go.

Re: 2012: from micros to midstakes

My thought process was "how the **** do I ever have anything here?". If he has a Q he's not 3x overbetting the thing, in his mind the problem is he has an awesome hand but no way to get me to put money in.

And yeah of course it has nothing to do with Zoom or online poker or anything, it was just funny because that came toward the end of a 3BI losing session over 200 hands

EDIT: anyway this thread isn't about me guys!

Re: 2012: from micros to midstakes

To be very honest I d fold in that spot. Wayyyy to often have I seen players shove bottom pair like that at 10nl

Fwiw don't 3bet ATs IMO. 3bet suited aces up to maybe A9 as semi bluffs. I feel AT is a tad too strong for that.
General strat would be 3bet everybody that opens from MP onwards with suited hands, setmine the hell out of everybody, fold to aggression postflop, be aggressive postflop, profit. Fwiw 10nl zoom is even softer than 25nl zoom from what I ve seen two nights ago

Re: 2012: from micros to midstakes

played one session but lold pretty bad when i saw that my pt3 was fkn with me once again at zoom. all the right players' huds popped up but next to somebody totally different from time to time which tilted the hell outta m so i am in the process of moving my whole pt3 database into holdem manager 2 -.- tried to do this into my HM1 but this program just tilts me to hell as i cant get it to work properly AT ALL so meh 60 bucks says HM2 will work for me :P

dropped 4 BI today so meh. hope those 600k hands will load fast enough and HM2 will actually work at zoom so i ll play another sesh later

HM2 should work with zoom, at least it works for me, so should not be a problem.
