Been a while since I updated, been playing a little less due to outdoor track being in full swing. Going for a sub 4 on Friday so that should be fun and think I'm ready for one. Am gearing up for a big WSOP trip in middle of June to July. Trying to play a few events and am looking to sell action. I'm going to post in the staking thread once I get accepted into the marketplace forum (unless i don't haha). Basically looking to play the extended 90 min levels event, the 1k hold em, and the 1500 bounty. Unless I get a lot of interest from people then I will play more. I'll post my stake thread here once I get approved to post. If anyone has any interest that would be cool. Results on the year so far are below. Session count is weird in the cash because my phone broke and I didnt have it backed up. Had to just input what I had on the screenshot in this thread into my phone then continue from there. Cash is mainly 1/2 a little 2/5. Tournament is mainly from my bovada bink. Have had some small cashes on there as well. I only included what I cashed out from the bovada when I put it in. I shot took some 600nl and ran bad so yeah haha.

Nice tourney wins. When is your next race? Was that mile windy when you ran or did it die down? Gl to you guys at pac-12.

Thanks! The mile ended up being so windy. I ran 4:06 in it which was disappointing, but on to the next one. My next race is in a month up in Portland and should be a pretty fast 1500.

Fun hand from last night 500BB deep

V- Decent TAG who has been improving a lot lately. Probably views me as a slight winner who is too aggressive in spots and overestimates my bluff combos. He is generally aware of position, but doesn't understand it deeply enough he has 900 in front and I cover. Will stack off too light vs me and can fold when obvious scare cards hit. Will fold to 3Bs pre or call then fold flop a bunch. 4b is super defined range of JJ+, AK.

7 handed game 1/2 nl

Pre
Folds to V who opens to 15 in MP
Hero 3b JQ to 50
folds back to V who 4b to 110
Hero calls 60 more

Flop (220)
T93
V leads 135
Hero Calls 135

Turn (490)
K
V bets 200
Hero raises to 500
V jams for 700
Hero calls

River ~1950
9

MHIG vs AKo

So I just played a PLO game live where we were all at least 250bb deep and half the table had never played before. They were opening 5522 because they reasoned it had two ways to hit a set. They only bet pot because it was easiest way too. I've never been in a better game. Ran hot on top of that and had an amazingly fun 3 hour session

The PLO game that has been going on that I spoke of has been amazing. I'm like plus 2.5k in 12 hours or something. Anyways heading out to Vegas next week and going to play two events and a lot of cash games. Will probably try to play some 5/T while I'm down there if the game is good. I'm pretty excited for the trip and have been running really well lately. I have won 15 sessions in a row lol, variance can be kind. I'm really well prepared mentally for the trip and have been playing at the highest level I have ever played in the last few months. I have ended up easily hitting my goal for playing an event that I had set at the beginning of this blog, but still sold about 50% of myself anyways. This is what my year looks like so far including everything I have played. It is mainly 1/2 NL, about 15 hours of PLO, and then like 35 hours of 2/5 (which I am down like 1kish in due to the fact i lost a 2k pot to 8 high ) I don't have my information from last year, but I think counting it over my last 600 hours I am like 40-45/hr.

Before anyone gets too impressed, OP's PLO strat is:
1. Flop boat in 3b pot.
2. Get paid.

So arrived in Vegas yesterday to start my trip. Didn't play last night met up with a few friends from Oregon instead. It was a lot of fun hanging out with the guys, watching the basketball game, and sweating another one of our friends who was on the last two levels of one of the events.

Talking to my friends I got convinced to play the Venetian 1.1k today so am going to start my trip off with that. Very excited to play it and get this trip started. Hopefully I run good and get some good volume in Cash games. So much variance involved with tournaments that I would hate myself if I exclusively played them instead of grinding 2/5 and shot taking good 5/T games.

10th place today was a grind then lost AK to TT for a little above average stack/for FT spot. I know I should be happy but I'm pretty bummed about bubbling. Felt like I had an edge on everyone

playing the extended play today. Hopefully I can go deep again. I'll give a recap of my tourney run later, but played cash yesterday and games were great. Made like 5.4k playing hold em' then spewed off 1k of that in PLO because I suck at it.

Most tilting tournament of my life. It started off great with me opening a lot winning hands on flop and building a huge stack. I was up to 170k from 77k by the time the bubble burst and was happy and confident. During this time a player who will be referred to from her on out as mega douche sat down with a huge chip stack. He was absolutely terrible opening up to 4x with just garbage, but he was running great. He stated that he had lost 20 flips and was still chip leader because he was the best player in the room He is also saying to me that he is going to stack me because I can't play vs him since he isn't abc (lol). After the bubble burst i was playing very tag waiting for spots. I even passed up a few marginal spots like 3bing mega douche opens with A4o because i felt he would just ship them away eventually. Then finally i find the right spot with the hand and position i would like.

Douche opens to 5k on 1200/2400 400 ante level. This is a sizing tell that he was weak. His monsters were minimum 3.5x. I 3b A2 on the button to 12k he calls. He then tells his neighbor "im going to get him here" and when i look back at my cards says "ah so you don't have a pair"

Flop comes JJ5 one heart he checks and I bet 10k he calls

Turn is a 4
he checks
I check

River is 3
he checks
I think and realize he associates overbets with bluffs and say "75,000"
Dealer asks me how much I say 75000 and start putting out yellows

Douche asks how much Dealer and I say "75,000" he says "call" I show and say "I have the wheel" he says "so how much 25,000 right" dealer and I both say no. He then says no you said 25,000. At this point other players are telling him he is wrong and to pay. He won't pay and only has 25,000 out though. I am really upset and yell for the floor. Floor comes and listens to the dealers story who tells it correctly. Then he asks douche to tell the story instead of me. Douche says kid said 25,000 and only put out one stack of yellow then when i called said it was 75,000. I'm irate at this point and so are the other players at the table all telling the floor he is lying. Floor rules in my favor and douche keeps talking so in my youthful foolish anger I say "Stop angling you lying piece of ****"

Floor instantly gives me a lap penalty and he keeps talking while i walk away. He ends up getting a two lap penalty that they reduce to two hands. So he tried to cheat and i ended up facing more penalty. If that isn't a bad floor call I don't know what is. Not saying I didn't deserve a lap out, but he deserved way more.

I end up running real bad from then on and blind down to 140k before i steal a few pots and have 180k with 56 people to go. Meanwhile douche is on a heater for the ages winning any and every hand he plays. He opened then called off 43bb with 55 and won vs AK lol. He is completely spewing and getting away with it due to sheer luck. Just playing way too aggressive. So this happens

Douche limps Co for 6k on 3k/6k 1k ante. I complete SB with J9o and BB checks. Flop is 973 i bet 8000 into 18k ish BB calls and douche makes it 35k. I tank and think it through douche doesn't like me, is on a heater, thinks he can do anything, and in general over plays hands. I then jam for 170k BB snap calls and douche says "I'm folding and i have the best hand then shows 9" BB has J3 turn 8 I just don't get what either guy is doing here BB played his hand sooo badly and if he folds almost positive i get it in vs a worse 9 who is raising this flop for some unknown reason.

I have 24k left then jam over douches limp with A4 who says "it will feel so good to bust you and I'm way ahead" and calls with 33 (yeah that's way ahead of me ) and he wins the flip. I can't help myself and say "play terrible run great" he then tells me how he is so good and still in with me responding that he is the worst player in the room. He then brags about how good his 55 call earlier was and i respond by saying "Whatever I'm done tapping the tank, I'm not going to tap the glass any more"

I am somewhat embarrassed by the way i exited especially since a few pros were nearby and I feel like a fool now reacting like I did. I just really hate cheating/angling and couldn't help myself. I almost never tilt and am in general very happy and friendly. Pretty much everyone who knows me texted me that this guy must be the world's biggest douche so it felt good having some support. I am really upset with the Rio floor to let a player even attempt to do that and punish the player he did it too is rewarding him for his angling. I think if there was ever a time for discretion it was then especially given that when they said that I had to sit out a lap I responded that it was fair and apologized to the floor, while he instead yelled at dealers and floors. He almost made the poor dealer cry. People like him are pariahs to the game and ruin the fun for everyone. He took what should have been a really fun moment for me since it was my first deep run/cash ever in a wsop and completely ruined it. I played great today only getting it in bad once with 77 vs TT for 10bb, but I don't even care I'm just real mad/frustrated about everything.

Cliffs: If you ever play with Eyal Revah tell him to **** himself

Poker cash games right now are a repeating cycle of getting in a huge pot with 65%+ equity on turn and then banging perfect river for them to get paid. Like I'll be calling down all run outs that don't hit their flush and they bang higher pair or straight or whatever. No one ever folds in these 5/T games and yet I can't for my life beat these players
