So short sessions and knowing when to stop is the key to being a consistent winning gambler IMHO.
Just curious what are your thoughts on poker vs. sports vs. baccarat etc.? I view poker as 100% +EV while baccarat is 100% -EV and sports is murky, maybe like 90% -EV. It seems as though you speak of them as if their somewhat similar (all gambling) if I'm not misunderstanding you?

hahha, didn't know zombie has a playing style. thought it's just "speak softly and carry a big stick." He kills me with his politeness and kindness at the tables. I, on the other hand, just try to assassinate everyone. lol

I was just giving my gambling experiences to "iceinveins" to answer his question. You mis-understood what I was trying to convey. I did say, "I wish I discover poker sooner [earlier]," meaning I don't believe poker is one and the same with other gambling ventures.

You are correct, poker is EV+, and table games are EV-; sports can be EV+ if you know what you're doing. I will say that everyone can win in gambling and does win in gambling, but most everyone loses because we're greedy; ie we don't know when to stop. When we win, we want to win more; when we lose, we want to chase our losses.

Re: Beating 1/2, 2/5, and 5/10 NL for $50K in 14 months......

So I am sitting here planning my Vegas trip and thinking about how I am going to update this thread when I am Vegas. It won't be easy since I'll be grinding like a madman and I'll be out and about checking out all the sights and sounds. To complicate matters further, it seems all Caesars Entertainment Properties charge a fee for their internet service in the room, but no resort fee. Since I am a nit with money on frivolous things, I don't think I will pay for the internet service when I am staying at Caesars properties.

The good news is when I am staying at MGM/Mirage properties, internet service is free. Thus, I will try to update this thread as much as possible when I am staying at MGM/Mirage properties.

Anyway, I am rambling a little here, but needless to say, I can't wait for my Vegas trip next Friday!!!!

Thanks for the info, but since I'll be in grind mode for most of the time during the day, I'd like to have internet access in my room so I can relax and update my thread. It would be hard to update at McDonald's and the likes, but that might have to do since I don't plan on paying for internet service while I am staying at Total Rewards properties. Thanks for the tip!!!!

Re: Beating 1/2, 2/5, and 5/10 NL for $50K in 14 months......

So we're less than 48 hours away before I ship to Vegas. After some careful consideration, I've decided to bring 30K with me to grind in Vegas. I will be grinding 7/3 tourney/cash ratio. My tourneys will primarily be the Venetian $400, $600, and the WSOP $235 DS Daily. In cash games, I hope to play 5/10 primarily with 2/5 if the games are good. If I run good in cash games, I will probably play 1 or 2 $1k, $1.5 WSOP events. I am also looking to play the Caesars 1K Main, Binions 1K Main and/or Golden Nugget 1K Main, as I believe these events have incredible structures and value.

For those interested, I will try to update this thread daily, time permitting and internet service permitting. I will stay in Vegas til at least July 1 as I have rooms booked for the entire month of June. However, if I make any score of 6 figure or above, I am flying straight to Asia as I love traveling in Asia, and will fly back for the WSOP Main Event.

Let the Vegas journey begins on Friday....Let's go!!!!

Re: Beating 1/2, 2/5, and 5/10 NL for $50K in 14 months......

On my ipad at Venetian/Palazzo. Arrived in Vegas Friday night checked into Paris. Played 1/2 at Ballys as I was too tired to walk anywhere. Played for 4 hours and won $265. Got up this morning and jog on strip from Ballys to end of Planet Hollywood as this side of strip has plenty of shade. Hotels blocking the morning sun. Sat by pool overlooking strip w views of Bellagio and Cosmo across strip. Heard Cosmo is awesome place but havent checked it out yet but will.

Played the 2nd day of Venetian 600 re-entry today. Made it to day 2 tomorrow starting at 2 pm combining the first two starting days. Not in money yet. About 100 left pays top 72. Am below chip avg as I've been card dead all day treading water all day, but played great bc of table image. Made huge bluff against fish w 43dd. Raised pre fish called heads up. 3 barrel on 626J9 no diamonds. Fish fold to my 3rd barrel on river. Fish took forever to fold as I could barely breathe in the process. Hihihi

Dead tired now. Need to walk back to Paris and get some sleep before entering battlefield tomorrow. Will write later as time permits.

Re: Beating 1/2, 2/5, and 5/10 NL for $50K in 14 months......

Busted the Venetian 600 earlier today, no cash. Made it to Rio and late register just in time to play the 235 DS daily. On break. Level 9 is up next and I am sitting alot better today than yesterday, got 50bb next level.

I forgot how big and long the strip is as I may not need to jog daily anymore bc walking around strip all day is sufficient exercise I think. The walk from Paris to Palazzo took me 30 min, room to the tournament area. Tournament is held at Palazzo this year but of course it is own by Venetian and it's connected to Venetian so no biggie.

I am transferring hotel tomorrow to Palazzo so I should have internet in my room so I will write a more detail post tomorrow. Break is almost over so got to stop here.
