Poker zombie that hand is incredible. It's like absolute level 0 thinking if you 4bet pre you probably don't have an 8.

UTG+1 opens for 20. Old man in CO makes it 40. I'm on the BB with KcKs and make it 125 and they both flat.
Flop 8h5h8c
I bet $225
UTG+1 folds QQ face up (which annoys me because of the action behind him and grrr i want his money)
CO Folds AA face up (which makes me very happy) "he has to have an 8 to bet that much"

Sorry for the derail, you probably know the old guy who did that too ;P white hair, as a wife who is awful as heis.

about your pictures: Does your phone have an "upload to FB" option? If it does that makes your life easier. Put them on FB. Now get on your computer and right click the image and save the image url. Now come here and push the little yellow box that has a mountain on it above these boxes we type into and paste the image url
How in the world did the AA old dude thought you were 4-betting pre with a dry 8? That's something I would do, not zombie!!!! hihih

Got to love this game. Don't think my cheap phone has that option. Will bring camera to Vegas to take pictures though. Think it's much easier to upload with a camera, according to everyone I've talked to.

Aces are the absolute nuts there. If you have an 8 oh well I'd love to keep playing with you.

My thoughts exactly, but make sure you keep your mouth CLOSED at the table please! The 3 guys between us berated him for 30 minutes, thus insuring he never folds anything (unbluffable) the rest of the night.

That sucks it must have turned a really good game into a very mediocre game quickly.

Re: Beating 1/2, 2/5, and 5/10 NL for $50K in 14 months......

Quick question here. I have an ipad and a macbook. I've been dabbling around with my ipad the last few days, taking pictures and emailing to my friends and family. It seems fairly easy enough. Now, if I want to plug the same pictures into my macbook and upload them on this thread, how do I go about doing it?

Of course, I also have a camera which I intend to use during my stay in Vegas. How do I go about importing the pictures from my camera into this thread as well?

Any and all answers are appreciated as I am literally illiterate when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Re: Beating 1/2, 2/5, and 5/10 NL for $50K in 14 months......

WSOP Circuit New Orleans Harrah's Trip #2 (Sessions 109 & 110).

Arrived late in Nola on Saturday morning around 2 AM. Checked into Harrah's Hotel, went to sleep til noon. Got up, got a good work out in, went downstairs to grab some crawfish and oysters. All my friends arrived Thursday night as they played the Main on Friday afternoon. After lunch, went to the theater to sweat my friends in the Main. Sadly, none cash; one came a few spots from the bubble of 70ish or so.

Grinded cash game for 8 hours on Saturday for a cool 8+ benjamins for $812 profit. Got up on Sunday morning, grinded another 4 hours, wasn't making any significant amount of money so wrapped up 1+ benjamin for $148, leaving me with 12 hours for 9+ benjamins for a grand total of $960. Since it's another road trip, expenses went up the roof as usual as I consumed untold number of oysters, crawfish, and alcohol of course, totaling $277, leaving me with a net of $683, not entirely a bad trip, but not a great trip.

2 hands worth mentioning, both from the Saturday session.

Hero is UTG with 44, raised to 25. Game of choice is 2/5. Villain (old tight dude) called. Heads up. Effective $700+

Flop 367r

Hero bets $60, Villain mid raised to $120. At this point, I put Villain on a high pocket pair TT or above. I haven't been very active prior to this hand, playing very few hands so my image is also quite tight, if not as tight as Villain. I decided to make it $325. Villain folds JJ face up. Nice ship.

About 2 hours passed, and this hand came up. I picked up QQ on the button. With 3 limpers in the pot, I made it $45 to go. Blinds fold, 2 limpers tag along.

Effective
Hero $2,000+
Villain 1 $1,500+
Villain 2 $700+

We see a flop of QJ8

Nice flop.

Check to me, and I make it $110 to go. Villain 1 calls. Villain 2 folds.

Turn 8

Nice. Checks to me, and I make it $250.

Villain calls.

River 2

Now Villain decides to bet out $600, leaving him with only about $500 behind. Really really weird bet, and I ship. He snaps and turns over the absolute 109

Why couldn't we get a Q on the river for the bad beat? Damn!!!!

I had a similar hand in JAX a few weeks ago where I made quads 8's and the guy made a 6789T straight, 4 flush, but I have the wrong 8 in my hand, 8. If the 8 was on the board, we would have hit the bad beat jackpot. Now, this QQ boat teases me again. I am getting closer to hitting the jackpot. I want to hit it to see what it feels like.

Going forward, not making any road trip until my Vegas trip June 1st, next Friday; might put in a few sessions or so at the local cardrooms, but not sure. I will spend the next 10 or so days exercising like a madman, jogging each morning and lifting weights after work every night. Good news is I've been pretty good about jogging these last few weeks so my body is well adjusted to the regimen.

Looking forward to my trip to Vegas. If I ship a 6 figure, am going straight to London for the Olympics, and then to Asia for a month or so. Still in beast mode. Let's go!!!!!!

I've been gambling for a long time, everything from the pit to sports to anything in between. So I know the gambling world real well; have met loads of interesting people through gambling Mr. Woods, A-Rod, Patrick Swayze (now deceased), Bruce Willis, Rick Pitino, Charles Oakley, and the likes. I once pull my money with Charles Oakley to play baccarat at the Borgata in 2005.

I have seen all kind of crazy things and done all kind of crazy things; I once play baccarat for 3 nights and 4 days straight, taking breaks for showering and eating only; didn't stop until I coughed up blood at the table. lol In a span of about 1 1/2 in 2004-2005, I won close to $1 million playing baccarat. But I lost it all after I broke up with my girl. Such is life. My biggest one session win was $80K one night, and biggest loss was a low 6 figure. I wish I discovered poker sooner.

IMO, knowing when to stop is the key to being a consistent gambler. I don't believe I am one to ever hit the big jackpot bc I am never greedy and my session is usually short and sweet. Instead, I like the upward progression style, where I win little by little and it adds up before we know it. I also don't chase my losses. If I don't think I can win any sitting session, I just quit and wait for the next opportunity bc as you know there are card rooms everywhere and there are games going all the time so there is no need to chase.

Specifically to your question, I use *************.com to log my play and since using it since beginning of 2011, my biggest downswing is $3,100, and best streak is at about $7,500.

I work full time, so when I play I don't put any pressure on myself to make money, and psychologically I believe this helps me alot. I also rarely play long sessions as I don't believe humans can function optimally after long hours. You will see that my sessions will always last no longer than 8 hours or shorter than 3 hours, and usually fall somewhere in between 4-6 hours.

So short sessions and knowing when to stop is the key to being a consistent winning gambler IMHO.

Will learn the trade and will post pictures from my Vegas trip...Thanks....we should meet up for a drink or two in Vegas (assuming you're going right?) bc I've played against you a few times in tourneys. You are so very nice and polite at the tables, always greeting people with "hello everybody!!!".

You will be very surprise to discover my identity once you meet me.

Haha I hope zombie comes to Vegas. His style (nittish) would be served well by those structures. I, on the other hand, am going to need to adjust
