WSOP Circuit New Orleans Harrah's Trip #2 (Sessions 109 & 110).
Arrived late in Nola on Saturday morning around 2 AM. Checked into Harrah's Hotel, went to sleep til noon. Got up, got a good work out in, went downstairs to grab some crawfish and oysters. All my friends arrived Thursday night as they played the Main on Friday afternoon. After lunch, went to the theater to sweat my friends in the Main. Sadly, none cash; one came a few spots from the bubble of 70ish or so.
Grinded cash game for 8 hours on Saturday for a cool 8+ benjamins for
$812 profit. Got up on Sunday morning, grinded another 4 hours, wasn't making any significant amount of money so wrapped up 1+ benjamin for
$148, leaving me with 12 hours for 9+ benjamins for a grand total of
$960. Since it's another road trip, expenses went up the roof as usual as I consumed untold number of oysters, crawfish, and alcohol of course, totaling
$277, leaving me with a net of
$683, not entirely a bad trip, but not a great trip.
2 hands worth mentioning, both from the Saturday session.
Hero is UTG with 44, raised to 25. Game of choice is 2/5. Villain (old tight dude) called. Heads up. Effective $700+
Flop 367r
Hero bets $60, Villain mid raised to $120. At this point, I put Villain on a high pocket pair TT or above. I haven't been very active prior to this hand, playing very few hands so my image is also quite tight, if not as tight as Villain. I decided to make it $325. Villain folds JJ face up. Nice ship.
About 2 hours passed, and this hand came up. I picked up Q

Q

on the button. With 3 limpers in the pot, I made it $45 to go. Blinds fold, 2 limpers tag along.
Effective
Hero $2,000+
Villain 1 $1,500+
Villain 2 $700+
We see a flop of Q

J

8
Nice flop.
Check to me, and I make it $110 to go. Villain 1 calls. Villain 2 folds.
Turn 8
Nice. Checks to me, and I make it $250.
Villain calls.
River 2
Now Villain decides to bet out $600, leaving him with only about $500 behind. Really really weird bet, and I ship. He snaps and turns over the absolute 10

9
Why couldn't we get a Q on the river for the bad beat? Damn!!!!
I had a similar hand in JAX a few weeks ago where I made quads 8's and the guy made a 6789T straight, 4 flush, but I have the wrong 8 in my hand, 8

. If the 8

was on the board, we would have hit the bad beat jackpot. Now, this QQ boat teases me again. I am getting closer to hitting the jackpot. I want to hit it to see what it feels like.
Going forward, not making any road trip until my Vegas trip June 1st, next Friday; might put in a few sessions or so at the local cardrooms, but not sure. I will spend the next 10 or so days exercising like a madman, jogging each morning and lifting weights after work every night. Good news is I've been pretty good about jogging these last few weeks so my body is well adjusted to the regimen.
Looking forward to my trip to Vegas. If I ship a 6 figure, am going straight to London for the Olympics, and then to Asia for a month or so. Still in beast mode. Let's go!!!!!!
