I don't have the proper bankroll to play in a $800 tourney. Did you cash? I am definitely playing the $500 buy-in $1 Million guarantee in West Palm next month. Great great value. You playing in that one correct?

Side question here. How much do you tip for a $2K pot, and $4K pot?

I don't have the roll to grind $800 tourneys. But less than two cash buyins I can swing to take a shot sometimes. I missed the money by 2-3 spots. So brutal. Min cash was a weird 4x buyin.

I don't have enough time to go to west palm. It will be a great tourney though. Wish I could go

5-10 unless I really like the dealer or it was a huge suckout. No reason to think it should be more

What a bummer! Man, you got to find a way to play in that one. It's hard to find a better value at $500. I am preparing my mind for that one. If I take it down, am throwing a big party for all the rounders in the TB area, probably putting up $10K for the party. Are you in?

I am glad someone agree with me on this topic. I ship $10 both times.

I wish I could play it. My work schedule isn't flexible. A big party with a bunch of degen poker players? Heck yes I'm in. Now you just gotta ship it haha

Solid thread, fun to follow a fellow 2/5 player. Your play definitely seems solid, and something I keep in my mind when I play.

I prob tip 5 for a 2k pot and 10 for a 4k pot in theory. I tip 1 most pots, 2 on a double up, 3 for a triple up, or big double up. Basically 1 + 1 for each buyin I profit. Sometimes, if a hand requires a lot of work, I'll tip an extra dollar. If I bluff a big pot, I'll tip 1 less.

5k in one day is insane, obv requires a little cooperation of the cards, but outstanding work indeed!

5K in 1 day is beyond my wildest dreams at 2/5, but when someone is married to QQ and shipped 1K against AA on a 9 high board, all I can do is say a prayer and thank God for America. lol

I thought he had KK or AA in that spot for sure, but QQ??? As the NFL guys would say, "C'mon Man!!!!"

Re: Beating 1/2, 2/5, and 5/10 NL for $50K in 14 months......

January 2012 Recap

The month started out slowly, but I couldn't ask for a better ending. I started out with a losing session on New Year's Day, but ended the month with a monstrous session on Sunday.

Looking back at my stats, I didn't get into the W column until the middle of the month. And once I got into the W column, I really didn't get into the groove of things until the end of the month where I had a good mini streak going. For some odd reason, the last 3 Saturday of this month, I had losing sessions on each Saturday, and recovered each time on Sunday.

I am not sure how to categorize this month other than to say it was just the usual grind where I try to put my money in good. I didn't have any run good or run bad streak this month except for this last Sunday, where I couldn't lose and won monstrous pots after monstrous pots.

Moving forward, I will have to put a halt on my grinding days as I am re-committing myself to going to the gym on regular basis and touching base with friends and family because while I know going to the felt is a good thing for my bank account, it can't be good for my overall health and social life. I will probably grind no more than Thurs-Sun of each week. I will still probably put in at least 20 hours a week, which is not bad considering I have a full time job.

In February, I will be playing in the $500 $1 Million Guarantee down in West Palm, and perhaps the Main Event. I hope to have a better start to February than January, but at the end of the day, it's not how you start that matters, it's how you finish (per last Sunday incredible result). Let's go!!!!

GJ on tourning it around this month. I did not myself. Had a losing month (and my first one on the grind too!!!) by a decent number.

I'm surprised youa re putting in so many hours on Sunday. Seems to me at THR it's only nitty old regs and former online kids playing Sundays
