I’m going to attempt to break the Bjoerni89’s PokerStars VPP record of over 3 million VPP’s in 2012. Hopefully I can be the first person to reach 4 million VPP’s!

I’ll be playing 6-max CAP from 100NL to 5kNL.

I made SNE last year and won the cash game leaderboard promotion 3 times with multiple 20k+ VPP days at midstakes CAP.

I’m also in the final year of my mathematics degree at the University of Manchester so I’ve got a year of hard work ahead.

GL, checked out the site. Not much back info, I've not seen many of your posts before, how many vpps did you get this year & hows profit been etc? Basically a back story would be cool.

I'm in manc too, Fallowfield ftw, was at mmu. Studying 3rd year maths at same time is gonna be very hard.

I'm home for christmas and I don't usually play on this PC so I have no graphs atm.

I got 1.1 million VPP's this year and made ~$35k before rakeback.

I've been playing poker for a couple of years. For the first year I was a fish and grinded the Party Poker freerolls before I got inspired by WizardOfAhh's getting so many VPP's shortstacking and I decided to try and do the same thing myself.

The only problem was that I was nowhere near as good as him. I lost about $10k at just 100 and 200NL CAP (the max buyins are $20 and $40!) over the first couple of months before I decided that I couldn't continue losing at that rate. So I spent a week studying some of the better CAP players and I've never looked back

I lived in Fallowfield last year, just at the back of Sainsbury's. I'm living just off curry mile this year.

i'm doing a maths degree at Durham and I can't imagine being able to put in that many hours and i'm guessing 75% of this will come after may/june when you have exams. At the same time though I've been saying for a while that the new record is gonna come from CAP games so i know anything is possible. Good luck and I hope you can ride the new vpp changes

Yeah. I have a lot of January and June exams so they will be very low volume months for me.

I want to do the '1 million VPP's in 2 months' bet in the summer so I'll make back the VPP's then.

You're crazy, what grade are you on track for + aiming for?

Don't want to turn this into a debate, but do the proposed rake changes help/hinder you?

I need a 70% average for a 1st and I'm on 79% atm so I fully expect to get a 1st.

The rake changes are terrible for 6-max CAP. They sneaked in a 50% raise in the 5-handed rake cap whilst also moving to WC. I'm one of the looser regs but from reading around it seems I'll probably end up getting less VPP's whilst also paying more rake than before. I can't be 100% sure though until I actually start playing in January.

So do you plan to go to all your lectures/seminars (or do you not bother with those?) Get a 1st, have a social life and make SNE + break the VPP record? Not sure how you manage all that.

Jesus Christ, you're a maniac. I'm studying Physics at Warwick 2nd year, and I've been so pushed for time lately that my volume has dropped alot, and you're on a high 1st class at the moment; WTF??!! You must have an insane work ethic. To pull this off would be one of the sickest things I've ever seen, especially with the shocking changes stars have made to the vip scheme.
