HH review - I look through my hands from the previous sess. First I look through my losses to see if I could've played any hands better and basically lose less $. Then I look at my wins to see if I could've extracted more value either w/ bigger bets or checking when I could've bet. Finally, I look at hands I'm proud of that I played well.

This accomplishes five things for me. First, it helps me improve and pin-point leaks. Second, it gets me in the proper mindset to grind. Third, it makes me aware of what I need to improve on. Fourth, it reminds me of what to avoid in my next sess. Last but not least, looking at hands I'm proud of keeps me positive and gives me something to build on.

Hands I could've played differently:

I thought about going for a decent sized value bet but ended up shoving since villain was a 58/11. I didn't think he'd be able to fold most decent Kx combos.

Might be the worst I ever ran in a session, UNBELIEVABLE. Got absolutely smashed. I kept my 2x and 3x barreling under control for the most part. Most of my biggest hands took down small-medium pots post-flop or lost big. Hardly got any action w/ any of my 9 sets. Almost no action w/ my big pairs. When I did get action w/ my big pairs, I lost either to coolers or suck outs. Missed most of my draws. Coolers w/ flopped flushes, straights, didn't matter. Most of my wins w/ AK/AQ were bluffs. Didn't get out of control w/ my bluffs. Damn proud of my tilt/emotion control. I almost can't believe how bad it got. Played w/ consistent aggression while not going overboard. PLAYED MY F'N ASS OFF. I actually laughed throughout my whole session w/ a ton of grins. Basically just SMH the WHOLE DAMN SESS. On the bright side... 0 D/C's.

calvin and hobbes were my favorite books as well growing up.

just curious where you got the ideas to bluff so often and triple barreling frequency. i play 10+ hours per day pretty much every day and its been weeks since i had to triple barrel bluff. the stakes you are playing it shouldnt be necessary to make so many moves, you can play abc and print unless you have a coach that is telling you to do otherwise id probably back it down a bit.

C & H was so much fun in grade school. I looked forward to the delivery of my books in class after ordering most of them in school. It was like Christmas every month to me. I still remember how anything Calvin hated to do "built character". To this day, it still sticks with me.

One of my biggest weaknesses was pretty much barreling with mostly value hands and being unbalanced in general. Like with 3+ betting, check-raising and even c-betting ranges. It kind of made me easy to play against. I'm trying to be more aggressive on later streets with some bluffs and semi-bluffs so I'm tougher to play against. I was so intent on increasing my aggression on later streets I went overboard with it when I got so many folds with air. I also love that it helps to get paid off when I actually have it. I just have to learn to control my turn range a bit as I'm getting used to firing turns with bluffs. To me, learning to get folds without a value hand is like gaining a super power and... "With great power comes great responsibility", or whatever Ben Parker told Peter.

If you were a nit most of your days, you'd understand the excitement I have for possibilities to rake without a hand. I'm just testing my limits now and experimenting as I get accustomed to +EV barreling spots and adjusting as I progress. If you were always loose and active, you probably wouldn't understand, then again... maybe you still do.

It's kind of like if you were always loose and then tightened up to find out that you'd be able to bluff more and rake by decreasing your VPIP. What I'm going through is kind of the opposite.

I don't have a coach but as a member to some training sites specifically geared towards LL NLH, I'm being encouraged to test my limits with ideas I had always heard about, but it was always out of my comfort zone being a nit for so long. Now, not only am I comfortable with it, I understand the cause and effect it has on my image, getting paid off and being much tougher to play against.

The swings of being a LAG as opposed a TAG is also something I'm also getting more comfortable with, each and every session.

HH review -

Going through my hands now, I'm seeing some mistakes where I raised the turn when I could've just called. I also made some calls to big over-bets on the river which cost me almost 2 bullets, then again this could just be results-oriented.

Looking back now, I wish I would've taken some more time to think about the range of hands a loose-passive player would take these lines with regardless of how spazzy they were. It may have had something to do w/ me pushing my limits volume-wise as I had the upper hand on most of my tables due to my big stacks.

I know that the Ac3d hand on the 44QA4 board that I was thinking along the lines of "if he has Qx, I'm good. If he has Ax combos, we're most likely chopping unless he has AK. I was also thinking that when the 4 hits the river, there's very little chance he himself has 4x combos. What I wasn't thinking about is how likely is it that a loose-passive player (10 hands of play) is making this play w/ Qx combos? Not likely. Ax? Probably not too likely as he'd probably check-call unless he had the board beat. 4x? This actually makes the most sense although it's the most least likely of hand combos mathematically speaking. I didn't even consider the fact that he might have slow-played QQ from the blinds, just assuming he'd probably 3bet w/ QQ+. I need to be asking ALL the right questions, not just some of them. This will take some time as I continue to 4-table and get used to the variance, game flow of 4-tabling and improving my thought process AT ALL TIMES on a regular basis. I must ask myself ALL the right questions at ALL TIMES, not just most of the times. I also need to assume less regarding players w/ small sample sizes.

The KtTd hand on KK364 board is similar b/c again, villain had only 15 hands of play. I did see him making loose calls, thin donk bets and 3betting me light from the blinds but that doesn't mean he's over-shoving the river light. I thought that him having Kx would be unlikely but I didn't really consider which hands he would do this for value. 33/44/66 are all likely hands for him to take this line with. He's probably not doing this w/ an underpair or Ax combos. I guess I was just so stuck on the fact he was making plays vs. me and I was just hoping he'd do it w/ a worse Kx even though I knew it was unlikely mathematically for him to have such a holding.

After these hands were over, I wasn't too upset about it technically but upon reviewing them a few days later... I realize that I made some errors in asking myself the right questions at those crucial times. Most of the time is not good enough.

The hand results themselves don't matter as much as me asking myself ALL the right questions before making a decision. Again, I put too much weight into limited sample sizes, the plays made during their time at the table and these 2pots alone were very big losses combined which dramatically decreased my winnings. I guess in a way, I was only asking the questions that would justify a call rather than both sides objectively. Some things I need to continually work on for sure.

Notes -

Finding mistakes is not a bad thing, it's a chance to improve my game. Stay positive and constantly be aware of misplayed spots to learn from my mistakes and avoid repeating them.

Do NOT put TOO MUCH WEIGHT in LIMITED sample sizes.

Consider the lines villain would take NOT just w/ hands in his range that are MOST LIKELY but ALL HANDS IN HIS RANGE that would take this line.

11/24 -

DO NOT put TOO MUCH WEIGHT in LIMITED SAMPLES.
Ask myself ALL the right questions @ ALL times.
IMPROVE EMOTIONAL control.
Be MORE conscious of barreling range questions/ramifications.
Do NOT make moves w/o a plan.
Do NOT BARREL THE TURN SO FREQUENTLY... it will force us to check/fold, which bleeds chips.
PAY ATTENTION TO FOLDS GENERATED against DIFFERENT OPPONENTS in DIFFERENT SITUATIONS when 3x barreling.
WATCH opponents INTENTLY, EVEN FOR VALUE to IMPROVE our 3x barrel bluff game.
When trying out a NEW LINE, do it for VALUE a few times FIRST to feel less pressure, THEN as BLUFFS.

Damn proud of my play today, made some nice laydowns that saved me some money. Picked off a few bluffs by check calling the river w/ T.P. hands vs. agro fish. Didn't have too many stressful spots, that's always nice. Still made a few mistakes but nothing like last session. Very happy w/ my progress. Used some nice over-bet shoves to pick up some stacks. I could've kept grinding but for some reason, I'm really tired so I decided to end it early tonight and pick it up tomorrow.

1 D/C today which got me kicked off a table w/ 550BB's. I was able to reconnect to my other 3 tables though. I was in this hand at another table when I re-connected and ended up winning this hand. This is why my PT profits are off and this hand is not in my DB.

Warm-up session -

Go through my list of adjustments needed before grinding while adding/removing objectives as I improve/find new leaks after every HH review.

Keeping a log of adjustments made with grades in a text document and this thread given to myself after the session to track improvements/leaks over the short/long term.

I will then be fully aware and reminded of the things I need to work on specifically in my next session. This will enable me to track/plug my leaks gradually, which will add to my profits and reduce my losses over time.
