That inspired me to pursue the dream and one day do the kind of thing that you're doing now.
Altough according to my calculations I still have for another couple years under mom's wing and financial support before going for the big adventure, Im already doing some research and considering places where to relocate to when the time comes.
Thailand is a place Id love to go but a few things worry me:
Hows the healt care? I hardly ever get ill but is nice to know that you have a safe and clean hospital where to land just in case, right? And I picture Thailand as not one of the best places when it comes to health system. What about safety? Is it alright to go out for a walk by night and to hit the bars and play pool with locals? Will I be more of a target for being caucasian if I walk the wrong streets at night?
How is it to socialize with other travlers and expats when you're living on your own flat and grinding long sessions every week? Do you still manage to make yourself time to meet people (chicks ) and have fun? Where do you get to know other expats? Bars? FB? Other social places? Are there any more poker players that you know on your place?
How do you move around the city? You own your ride or you use public transportation system? If you do use it, is it reliable? Does it have 24h service? Does it go everywhere around Bkk?
Finally, what do you do on your spare time? You travel around Thailand much? Is it cheap to do touristic stuff around the country from now and then?
I think that the visa thing is another history since Im not from Europe and itll be a different story for me.
If you dont wanna answer everything since its a looot dont worry, ill understand.
Congratulations for going after your dreams and living the adventure of a life time and thanks for sharing your experiences!

Hey, i started grinding now so i may not go into too much detail but will try and answer your questions.
I have only been in one accident here in Thailand, it was quite bad, i came off my bike going about 100kmph, got a lot of road rash all down my side and split my elbow open needing 6 stitches.
The next morning i decided to go to a clinic rather than a hospital as i knew that there was a huge difference in price and i didn't feel that i was in that bad of a condition that i needed the best medical care. They did a really good job scrubbing out my wounds and stitching my arm up, gave me antibiotics and said that i should come back a couple of times to change bandages and have the stitches removed. I don't remember the exact cost but remember at the time thinking it was really really cheap (i would guess <$150).
Before i had this accident (and my reason for not going to a decent hospital) my friend who came to stay also had a motorbike crash but just ended up with road rash. She got an ambulance to Bangkok hospital where she stayed for a few days and her medical bill was well over $1000+ (although she had travel insurance that covered her).
Basically if you don't want to spend a lot of money or your problem is just small then there is usually a cheaper option but if something serious happens then you will want to go to the best hospital (and yes there are some very nice hospitals all over Thailand). I think Bupa insurance is about $700/year.
Thailand seems very safe, before i came here i also pictured it to be completely different but really nobody will bother you unless you are too drunk and acting like a complete idiot disrespecting Thai's or their culture. I feel it is much safer to go out at night here than it is in Sheffield, England where i come from (and that is one of the nicer city's in UK).
There are tons of 2+2ers in Thailand and it shouldn't be too hard to get in touch with people here and go for a drink etc.
I got told that i wouldn't need a motorbike in Bangkok and that traffic was awful so i sold my bike to a friend in Phuket before leaving. After a couple of weeks here i got a bit annoyed at sitting in a taxi in traffic and ended up buying a small bike that i can nip through traffic in. I really love how much freedom bikes (scooters) give you and i still find it a lot of fun even driving through heavy traffic. I paid $750~ for my bike with 5k km on it and gas is super cheap (<$5/week).
go to focus on grinding now, got a few more tables up.

Like i said, i don't like the audio (and also the mouse cursor doesn't show up) and i think you are much better off watching a training video.

vpip/pfr/3bet/f3b
steal/fold vs steal/cbet

Nope, not at all actually. Usually i end up regging for a tournament and get a message "not enough funds in account" so have to transfer from ftp or send a message to backer to send a few k more. If i have a few wins and am doing well i would be checking balance quite often as i could cash out/settle up whenever i am up above the starting roll.
I think i have a pretty clear head and enough experience to know that everyone gets swings so not to think too much about it.
