Re: Always forward. Journey into poker world, from 10NL to MSNL

I am slowly getting into grind again, lacking some discipline but getting there.

Not going to post any hands at this point, as I am definitely only getting warmed up to play my A game.

Re: Always forward. Journey into poker world, from 10NL to MSNL

Damn, HM2 so unstable and every day another problem, first time in long time I actually considering switching to the PT3. It stopped importing hands on me 3 times during the 1 hour session, and I ended up restarting it.

Played a short session today and won $7 (based on PS cashier).

Biggest losing hand:

Villain is 77/33, but passive post flop, this should be easy fold.

Poker Stars, $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

    SB: $3.46 (34.6 bb)
    Hero (BB): $9.85 (98.5 bb)
    UTG: $8.13 (81.3 bb)
    MP: $9.27 (92.7 bb)
    CO: $6.66 (66.6 bb)
    BTN: $13.13 (131.3 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q Q
UTG folds, MP raises to $0.20, 2 folds, SB calls $0.15, Hero raises to $0.80, MP raises to $1.40, SB folds, Hero calls $0.60

    Flop: ($3) 2 T J (2 players)
    Hero checks, MP checks

    Turn: ($3) 2 (2 players)
Hero bets $1.85, MP raises to $3.70, Hero raises to $8.45 and is all-in, MP calls $4.17 and is all-in

    River: ($18.74) T (2 players, 2 are all-in)

    Results: $18.74 pot ($0.92 rake)
    Final Board: 2 T J 2 T
    Hero showed Q Q and won $0.00 (-$9.27 net)
    MP showed A A and won $17.82 ($8.55 net)

    Biggest winning hand:

The villain 33/30 with strong tendencies to 3barrel. Shoving on river probably would be better play in this spot.

Poker Stars, $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

      Hero (SB): $9.75 (97.5 bb)
      BB: $31.91 (319.1 bb)
      UTG: $9.04 (90.4 bb)
      MP: $7.37 (73.7 bb)
      CO: $5.34 (53.4 bb)
      BTN: $10 (100 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 2 2
UTG raises to $0.30, MP folds, CO calls $0.30, BTN folds, Hero calls $0.25, BB calls $0.20

      Flop: ($1.20) 2 9 3 (4 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, UTG bets $0.85, CO calls $0.85, Hero calls $0.85, BB folds

      Turn: ($3.75) 5 (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $2.67, CO folds, Hero calls $2.67

      River: ($9.09) T (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $3.10, Hero calls $3.10

      Results: $15.29 pot ($0.74 rake)
      Final Board: 2 9 3 5 T
      Hero showed 2 2 and won $14.55 ($7.63 net)
UTG showed K K and lost (-$6.92 net)

      And finally graph of today:

Re: Always forward. Journey into poker world, from 10NL to MSNL

Just played short session, couldn't get nothing on flop even if my life depended on it. Some time after started tilting and instead of quitting stack around and lost some more.

Will cool down and play some more later today.

Re: Always forward. Journey into poker world, from 10NL to MSNL

Got some of my loses back in 2 next session, so total loses for today is -$17.80.

Also got a $50 dollar bonus, so end of the day is +$38.

Final graph for today looks like:

Re: Always forward. Journey into poker world, from 10NL to MSNL

Finlay released my dynamic table management program that's allow stacking in tiling table and moves tables automatically into pre defined slots based on taken action. It is an early beta but I am happy with the release nerveless. If interested check it here: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/45...ables-1123416/

Played an hour yesterday and started very bad, run KK into slow played AA on low flop, and than gave 40% stack with QQ against A8 who got A on the flop. But recovered loses and even ended up being in small plus of $3.34

Not gonna post hands, as I played whole session simply for value and nothing fancy happened.

      Yesterday graph (stairs to recovery):

I wish you success with your poker progress and programming experience, LWallet

Wanna say that I don't like the way you had played in these hands with QQ and 22.

If I were you, I'd better 5b-push PF (if I'm ready to stack that guy with QQ).
And 3 of a kind — this hand should be played fast on 3s Flop. So raise and shove the Flop.

Re: Always forward. Journey into poker world, from 10NL to MSNL

      Thanks,

The QQ hand the opponent is rather passive post flop, I still think that when he reraises he does have most likely over pair and it is might be a better to fold there.

With 22 hand, I was worried that somebody has made flash :-)

Re: Always forward. Journey into poker world, from 10NL to MSNL

      Calling 4b with 100bb isn't a good game. Just beacuse it's 100bb.
If you calling 4b PF (and 3b, btw) with the QQ you will a have a lot of hards situations like:
      1. there is a K on the Flop
      2. there is an A on the Flop
      3. you have overpair but still not sure in your strength, it's a WA/WB situation
So if he is enough loose and agressive PF, u should shove it. But if for 1-2k hands he has 3bet 2 4bet 0.5, u gonna think about foldind you nice hand — seems like it isn't too good.

And with 22 — you should raise:
      1. to get the value from the weaker hands (like the villain's had)
      2. to make your stats and image more agressive
      3. what should you do if it will be 4s Turn or River? folding? calling? too weak/hard
      4. one more time — u should take the value because u're ahead vs his range
and vs flash your odds are ok

Thinking about it now I realize my thinking in those spots are wrong, you are actually absolutely correct.

Maybe that's why I am on 10NL and you on 50NL

      Appreciate the advise.

Re: Always forward. Journey into poker world, from 10NL to MSNL

Had a better session yesterday, at first lost -2BI being card dead and than going all in with AK (I really should stop doing it on 10NL), took an hour break and than came back and almost re-grinded it all back.

The result is not impressive, total for the day is $-3.91, definitely better than yesterday, but it is so frustrating to run on a cold deck every time I start session (notice the EV line).

P.S: Cannot post any hands right now as I am at work.
