So I'm revamping the math aspect of my game I've been fudging too many numbers lately.
It's all out of sheer laziness so I'm doing some studying and more deep hand analysis. I'm just not doing enough combo counting when I'm actually on the felt in spots i really should be.

Nothing like swinging all over the place to increase my work ethic lol.

I rarely use combo counting in game... I learned equity stuffs by just getting curious with pokerstove and plugging in ranges vs hands in different scenarios.

However, I think at live 2/5, combo crunching is far secondary to reading lines and tendencies.

So I'm sitting in a parking lot on a dinner break from my job.
Been playing a bit more lately after a 3 day break. Not such an ice cold deck the last couple of days... who knows maybe this can be a good month.

During a meeting at work today I had a little "aha" moment when I realized congruent mind sets between employers/owners even though there is a vast difference in business ethics between many.
I'll see if I can closely articulate what I've been observing a little bit later when I have more time.

The idea has a lot in common with solid poker play/mindset as well.

Well I could try to say everything I was thinking but I could really boil it down to just this:

Most business owners I meet try to relentlessly pound the following ideals into their employees skulls:

Personal accountability, and an anti entitlement mindset

It seems like I am hearing the same exact things over and over again. This... I learned from an educator... is an indicator that the information has been absorbed.

I think business owners have a lot in common with winning card players. I also think I'm getting closer to a good mind set.

Also I'm finally in the black for this month *phew*

Sooo I'm on the wait list...

I'm not even really in the mood to play but I'm going to just top be sure I hit my 100 hrs volume goal for this month.

Next month I'm going to play 20 more hours. I think I could pull off 120 hrs next month. Amirite?

So after all the ups and downs of this month I'm ending this month up two buyins lol.

I'll take it.

I'm going to continue revamping my math game this month and also I'm still chiseling away at mental game issues.

Ok so one problem I've just run into is very decreased energy levels from my new job. I'm making hundreds of cold calls and I forgot how exhausting working at a call center can be.

I'm either going to have to play really tired to hit my monthly hours goal or try to convince my boss to let me work just part time. I'm such a nit for getting another job maybe I should have just toughed it out lol.

Either way I shouldn't have to work here more than a couple months so it's all good.

^ you must've not read the part when I quit my job with less than 10k? lol

In a way having a bad job is very motivating and makes poker very fun. I don't grind, I play :thumbup: So unfortunately I will not be able to make 120 hrs this month mainly due to work hours.

I have been tinkering with my technical game and generally improving.

I had a rough start but this could shape up to be a decent month.

So I just had a big aha moment today. I could really boost my winrate by just making fewer very small bad plays. Some of the games I play aren't severely punishing me for small mistakes I make in my B game. However if I just didn't make them I think I could pick up a few bb/hr in my long term edge. These would be a gimme.

Cracking open Tendlers book again. Should be easy to patch a few mental game holes.

As far as my monthly volume goal I have completely given up. I have low monthly bills so quality>quantity. Especially since I'm still unemployed.

I took some time off from playing this month that was pretty nice.
Totally failed last months volume goal lol.

This month I want to play 105 hours. That should be very achievable.
I still haven't got another job I'll just see how this goes a little bit longer.

Hey thanks noobis!

Yeah I do track my results with poker manager. It's a pretty decent app it's where I get my graphs from.

I do work off table. It's definitely different than online though.
Have been doing a lot more math lately I'm debating whether or not to crack open MoP..
I sometimes wish online was somewhat more available in the US.

There's many inconveniences that exist in live poker unfortunately.
