Final Destination

I come home feeling good from my workout, intake some protein, and then decide to rub one out to Jenny McCarthy before I hit the shower. You know she was the first girl I ever got one off to so I still look at her from time to time to show my respect. I'm seriously impressed with her physique for her age and I hope if I ever house a WSOP tournament I could get a date with her and maybe feel one of her titties. She seems like a cool chick with a good sense of humor. If I made her laugh she might even be nice enough to just let me cop a feel.

Anyway, I headed to the felt battleground for "Fish Friday" and I had high hopes for the. I quickly identified the spot at the table and got it all in with a set of 5's on the turn with him.

The hand went like this...

UTG raise to $12, 2 callers, fish calls OTB, I call in SB.

$60 in pot.

Flop is 6c/5c/2s

It's checked and Fish bets $50.

I flat with hopes to pick up one more caller.

Folds around and the turn is a Js

$160 in pot now, I go all in for around $150.

The Fish calls. Turns over a pair of 6s with spade draw.

He catches the flush.

So, I'm down a buy in.

I show some grunt like Ben Wallace boxing out in the paint and grind back to even over the course of a few hours. Just when I'm about to taste profit, I get a nice little gift from the poker Gods in the form of pocket aces.

I'm OTB with them, there's 5 limpers, so I zap it to $20 preflop. The biggest call station in the world that's actually wearing an "AT+T" hat decides to play me heads up.

$50 in the pot and it comes Ah/9h/4

The call station actually leads into me for $30. I'm thinking "wow, maybe he has a set here." I raise to $75. At+T calls and the turn is a brick.

Now there's $200 in the pot.

At+T checks, I bet $150.

At+T tanks and says "I'll just go all in for $200, send me home."

Obviously I call with the set of aces and he shows a flush draw.

PING. He also hits the flush draw against me.

Now, I'm on a short stack of $100 and I top back off to $200. I'm in the game for $500. I end up doubling through this same fish when I extract mass value off the A/J he called my raise with when I had A/K and we both flopped top pair. I bet the pot on every street, then overbet river. Pulled off a "PRISON RAPE" DGIHARRIS style. He would have shed a tear if he seen that hand.

So, I'm 8 hours into the session, finally back to even again, and decide to take a shot of 5 hour energy. Things are feeling pretty good and I pick up KK UTG. I raise it to $15, get a caller, and a competent player raises it to $60 OTB.

The competent player has $300 total for the hand. I decide to flat to keep my hand disguised. Even if he has AA here, he is doubling through me you know. I know his range is 1010+ and AK. This guy is never 3betting light. Plan is to check all flops to him.

As expected it goes heads up, flop is 10h/7h/2...

There's $150 in the pot and i check to him.

He bets out $120. I say "all in".

He's got $120 back and tanks, says "If you've got aces, kings or a set, nice hand. Hopefully you're on a flush draw, I can't fold."

He tables Queens, sees my kings and right away says "Well played. Nice flat call pre. Dammit."

The turn card is a queen.

So, I kind of have an internal meltdown, and decide that it's just best to leave. Even though I'm all jacked up on five hour energy. I just felt I needed to get out of there, rather than go on super tilt. I am going to call days like this "Final Destination" from now on.

No matter what you do, no matter how much the odds are in your favor on the flop/turn, you're just destined to go home a loser. So, you might as well get to your final destination one buy in down, instead of four.

Hopefully tomorrow things will go better and I'll get to put in that 12 hour session I had planned for today.

Bankroll is currently at $8,411.00.

"final destination" haha I love it.

I no joke had the EXACT same KK QQ hand in the final 12 of an MTT start of this month.
Played out exactly the same, all in on flop for chiplead, 7.5k for first, 1.5k runners.
Q turn, bing.
Doesn't feel good so I can definitely relate.

Good idea on getting out of there before it got worse, and even better idea of giving it a name.

May your final destinations be brief and rarely visited.

Echoing another poster. You write really well and your stories are very interesting - you should make it a blog to build a following and write a book (like that Tucker Max guy with his sex history blog).

I agree with most of your comments below re - education and entitlement programs. We can say that people have to take personal responsibility rather that expecting the society as a whole to do the work. or that they need to make hard choices - acquire a skill instead of trying to "front" to impress their peers. But this responsibility & knowledge comes from a well-rounded education system & family involvement that teaches people to think critically and shows how to evaluate the available options.

I have been fortunate to "make it" to the middle class after coming here as an immigrant. I have to thank my family AND my native place's focus on education for pushing me to think more, do more, and persevere during tough times. I think that is what lacking or being cut back in America - i don't see much hope for my adopted country if we continue to neglect the education system. That's sad cuz I am very grateful to this country for giving me the opportunities and respect that I as a deaf person do not get enough of in my own birth country.

Anyway reading more of your posts. Keep writing and good luck in improving your BR management!

That's right, I've spent 104 days in a jail cell and have made it all the way back to living in one of the nicest places you can find in downtown Detroit. It doesn't matter, I can be broke again just as easily as I could stay wealthy. My bankroll management skills are piss poor. I like to waste a lot of money on dining out, traveling, music festivals, concerts, sporting events, and also making sure everybody I love gets to join in the fun with me.

If I ever go broke, I'll just find a way to make a lot of money again. I've read that's one of the most important traits of a successful person. Their faith that no matter what happens they'll find a way to persevere. This story isn't about me though. This story is about one of my brothers that I met inside the liquor store.

Not my blood brother, but my fellow man. You see, no matter what your parents, teachers, preachers, leaders, or friends try to tell you. We're all connected. No matter how much your government, religion, or mass media may try to mislead you, don't ever let them convince you that we're not all connected. Don't ever let them dehumanize a class, race, or religious group of people inside your mind. For once they do that, they'll have "manufactured your consent" to do whatever they want to those people.

When governments "manufacture consent" it can lead to an all out annihilation of a culture when we go to war.

Take a look at what happened to Native Americans.
Take a look at what happened to North and South Korea.
Take a look at what's happened in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Take a look at what's being spoon fed to us about Iran right now.

In each case the United States government has told us that our supposed "enemy" is a "savage".. a "beast".."..."immoral"..."can't be reasoned with".. "evil"..."etc".."etc"...

That's not true.

No gender, class, race, nationality, sexuality, or culture is inherently evil.

We are all brothers and sisters. We are all connected.

YOU DO NOT HATE SOMEONE FOR THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN.
YOU DO NOT HATE SOMEONE FOR BEING ON ENTITLEMENT PROGRAMS.
YOU DO NOT HATE SOMEONE FOR BELIEVING IN A DIFFERENT GOD THAN YOU.
YOU DO NOT HATE SOMEONE FOR BEING A HOMOSEXUAL.
YOU DO NOT HATE SOMEONE BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T BORN IN AMERICA.

WHOEVER TAUGHT YOU THAT HATE IS YOUR ENEMY.

YOU NEED TO TELL WHOEVER TAUGHT YOU THAT HATE TO **** THEMSELVES.

So, I'm in the liquor store and there's this homeless man begging to return a few bags of bottles. The clerk is saying "man, we don't take back bottles, get the **** out of here, go get a job, I'm going to call the police." The homeless man is saying there's some sort of law that every store who sells beer, has to take back up to fifty cans of whatever it sells.

I've got no idea who's right but this homeless guy just looks really really dejected. The clerk is really being an ******* making fun of his plight at this point, so I decide to step in. I walk up to the counter and say "what's up big shooter, how many bottles you got there." The homeless man says "about fifty." I say "it's your lucky day, give me the bottles." Homeless guy is like "no, I'm not giving you my bottles." I'm like "let me help you man, give me the bottles." The homeless guy says "how you going to help me?" I say "what you want to do with the money, you need to buy more beer, you gonna get drunk tonight, you got a girl?" He's like "my girls outside around the corner." I'm like "ok, just sit the bottles down, it's your lucky day, and I smack a $20 on the counter."

The bum is like "really?" I'm like "yeah, now I want you to buy some good stuff for you and your girl tonight. Spend all of that $20 here." The bum is happy as **** and runs to the back of the store to pick out his fine selection of 40's and 22's. The clerk says "you didn't need to do that, all you're doing is enabling him. He needs to get a god damn job."

This line of thinking is flawed...

Detroit's high school graduation rate is 25%-35%. The cities literacy rate is 50%

Hundreds of thousands of people have essentially been "left for dead" in this system and they have NO CHANCE to ever get a job/contribute to the cities tax base.

When you let your cities, states, or nations education system rot, you also let your communities overall moral compass and ability to contribute to society rot as well.

There's good people living all over Detroit who don't know any better but to feel "entitled" and leach off the system. They don't know any better. They haven't been taught better because the education system is rotted out.

There's good kids that could have bright futures, but they don't go to school because they don't know any better and joining a gang sounds more appealing. No positive role models in their life to push them to aspire to be more.

Detroit is a prime example of what America as a whole will look like in fifty years if we don't start spending more than 4% of our national budget on educating our citizens and keep shipping our jobs overseas.

If the emergency manager/city council can't solve the cities education problem, none of the other problems that come along with it will ever be solved...

(murder, rape, homeless people, violent crime, balancing the budget, drug addiction, etc, etc, etc)

So, you can't just take away entitlement programs and think all the people on them are going to become qualified to find a job. The people on them are more likely to pick up a gun and coming marching down your christian streets to rob you for their food, bread, shelter, and water. By that time Obama might even have your guns, so you'll have no way to protect yourself, your family, or your belongings.

Be careful what you wish for.

These people in the streets are our brothers and sisters. If we're not going to take the proper steps to educate and rehabilitate them, entitlements are a good thing. It keeps them pacified and it keeps your streets safe.

Think about it.

Free Falling

Lets get back to what this thread was supposed to be about, me taking $5,000 and turning it into $10,000 for a June trip to Vegas and a permanent move up to 2/5 NLH.

Results of my last 5 sessions:

-$156.00 (Sundays 1/2 session.)
-$435.00 (Saturdays 2/5 session)
-$250.00
-$ 65.00
-$555.00 (2/5)

March results:

$1/$2- $2,371.00 profit ($19.41 a hour.)
$2/$5- $1,130.00 loss (-$71.30 a hour.)

Total: $1,241.00 profit ($8.99 a hour.)

Bankroll is currently at $7,800.00.

Goal for April is to crack the $10,000.00 mark and start easing into the 2/5 game.

I took two shots this month and nothing went right for me. I showed the discipline each time to not rebuy and move back to 1/2 the next day, though.

Saturday's 2/5 session was a 7 hour grind, I had my stack up to around $1000 6 hours in but I was looking for that huge score. There was definitely a spot at the table. Let me know if you think this is spew, here's how the hand went.....

UTG Villian- Complete ******/high on xanax, raising junk from OOP all the time. Probably just got out of rehab.

MP/Caller 1- Caldian guy who likes to GAMBOOOOOOL, he's in with anything suited, all broadways, all pocket pairs, and even unsuited 1+2 gappers. The guy is actually high on mdma and giving anyone he felts chips. He's chasing/betting all draws. Not going to get any real reads on. Haven't seen him STONE COLD bluff yet though. Just a nice guy ****ed up on drugs, drinking, and having fun.

Mp/Caller 2- Fat middle aged guy that's a call station. He's hardly ever folding top pair, but it's hard to put him on a hand because he'll just check call top pair, two pair, and even sometimes a set if board looks scary.

Hero- In the HJ with K/Q spades.

Onto the hand...

Utg opens to $30, we know his range very well.

Gambooler and Call station call, we call to see a flop in position and are sitting on $1000.00.

Gambooler has $700, UTG covers, Call station covers.

(Should I have 3bet to $200 and tried to take it down?)

($130 in pot)
Flop is Kh/Qh/10c

UTG bets out $75, GAMBOOLER calls $75, Call station calls $75, I raise to $300.

(Thoughts on sizing?)

Utg folds, Gambooler high on E flats, call station folds.

$900 in pot now. Gambooler has around $370 left.

Before turn card even comes he just announced "all in."

Turn comes and it's a blank.

(Are you ever folding there against a guy rolling balls with a slickback hair cut?)

I called and he had flopped a straight with A/J, the nuts.

After that I had $300 left...

I ended up spewing a bit later calling a fish's all in for around $220 when the moronic UTG raised to $30.

It was like moron raise, 1 call, then a passive call station fish barrels "all in" for $220, I was sitting there with around $300 and called. He had KK of course.

I left the table with $65, went and blew it on the roulette wheel and left.

I can't get that one $2000+ 2/5 session that will push me over the top.

This is your problem. Poker should be thought as one long session. When you think like this you end up taking chances you shouldn't, just to score big. If you had stopped to think you could have seen the straight when he shoved pre-turn. A simple odds calculation would have showed you as less than 10% to hit your boat. As nice a hand as you had here there was enough that could beat you for you to fold.

Exactly, after I properly ranged him he could have had KK, QQ, 1010, J/9, or A/J.....

I was beating Any two pair or a heart draw though, plus the guy was high man...

I don't think my call was a MEGA spew, but I could have found a fold perhaps if I tried to soul read...or maybe asked him, you know what, I bet if I said "I have a flush draw".. he would have told me he had the straight.. he was that high.

2.

"The Legend Of The Mad Crapper" is going to be my first official, published, copyrighted e-book with a professional cover, etc...

I have been putting in 3-4 hours a day working on my grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, vocab, etc, as I don't want anything I officially put my "pen name" on to be a hack job. The editor I been working with says if I turned my degenerate self into an eventual zombie fighter or vampire killer in any of my stories that I could probably get an official publishing deal.

So, I guess my stories are pretty decent, but, sad thing is I have problems writing fiction or developing characters other than myself. The good thing is that I still have many stories from my life that I haven't penned yet. So, I'll be continuing to write, one short story at a time.

3.

I like to dress as white trashy as possible and leave my name on the call in list as "Big Shooter."

I do rotate the name on the tag to Lotgrinder, iParty, and Big Shooter, though.

I'll have to tell you some poker alter ego stories soon.

Interesting topic has come up at the table tonight.

A guy was talking about the movie "13"..it is about a russian roulette tournament for prizes.

So, I got onto talking about degens and posed this question..

If there was a private room at the casino that contained a gun w one bullet in the six chambers, what percent of casino goers would pull the trigger once for 10k...

What percent would do it for 100k?

Walk around the casino and ask yourself those questions.

Kind of morbid but funny/interesting topic...

I bet if they advertised on TV that you could pull the trigger once for 100k, there would be a line out the door.

Oh sorry, I meant that's my personal choice, there's a 100% chance I'd do it it for 100k.

I think it'll depend on what demographic you hit, it would def be a higher percentage if asked in a casino, but I think the general public would be maybe 1 - 5% for 10k. Maybe 10 -30% for 100k. Interesting quesion though. I would be funny to do a nationwide poll.

Chip Porn

Decided to play a 4 hour 2/5 session session today instead of an 8 hour 1/2 session.

Pretty much because I kept looking at RunningUphill's thread and was jealous of his chip stacks.

I almost decided to just give up and swan dive off the Motor City Casino parking structure when I called a $25 prefolp raise OTB with Ac/10c in a 5 way pot and flopped two pair with a heart flush draw out there, then a GAMBOOLER barreled out $100 at the pot, original pre-flop raiser folded, a short stack arab mega fish goes all in for $225, Gambooler calls, finally...I just ship all in for around $400.00, GAMBOOLER calls.

It's around a $1400 pot.

Gambooler- Heart Draw
Arab Mega Fish- Naked Gutshot straight draw (3 outs)
Her- Two pair

On Ah/10h/3d board.

Arab Mega Fish ends up binking the 3 outer.

I get around $500 back though, so I'm not felted, still felt as weathered as Jenna Jamenson's vagina.

Then finally, I "KING KONGED" Arab mega fish twice.

First one was a heads up 3bet flop that I just flatted him on OOP. I extracted max value by betting pot/overbet shoving river when we both had overpairs to the board. He called off $500, I doubled through. He had JJ and the board came 10/4/2... he said he put me on A/K or the 10.

The second time, he called me all the way down with a pair of 9's, which was top pair on the flop. This one was for around $380.

I cashed out when my stack got to over $1500, which is around 20% of my bankroll. Also, the mega fish and GAMBOOLER had left. On top of that, 2 players who I respect were sitting with around 2k and they could have applied a lot of pressure on me playing deep.

Bankroll is currently at $8,800.00.
