Shots at 5NL going well. Still playing majority 2NL though. Hoping to make a full switch in a few days.

Definitely more people trying "moves" in 5NL than 2NL.

Never respect the min raise of a LAG.....

Today was a good days grind.

Mix of 2NL and 5NL. Ended up my biggest winning day that I've recorded in HEM2 yet (since my purge of hands a few months ago.. but lets forget about that, I'm a new player now lol).

Nearly $20 profit in 3k hands. Pleased with those results. I was off to a shakey start as I was trying to adjust to the new style of 5NL players. And actually... it's kinda funny.. In 5NL you have a bunch of guys relentlessly 3betting you light (in 2NL guys that 3bet you light are relatively few and far between)... so I've had to start 4betting them light 100% of the time for insta-profit lol.

The hand with A3o is a -EV spot. It's way to light to 3bet oop with low off suited Aces.
Maybe you are overplaying a little your hands at 5NL, you might be on a hot run and you don't realize it..

I disagree, I only do moves like that against a very specific range of opponent statistics. (A3o & 22)

I agree that in general it's -EV though.

This could've potentionally been another great bad beat... Why would you GII there OTF with sixes? They just have so many hands in their range that have you beat there... W/o very strong indications that they are utterly ******ed fish I would've never got it in that spot against 2 villains.

Ah well, that's just me. GL with the challenge tho.

        @ Messagez:

Yeah, OTF, I thought the BTN bettor was a bluff, the caller I *knew* was a draw, so my raise on the flop was intended to get 2 folds. Turned out button shoved over the top, so I thought.. "DAAAYYYUM maybe he DOES have a hand?? trips or overpair?" UTG+1 calls his draw, which I was certain he had.... so that left me with a call of 72c, which is great odds for the open ended straight, back door flush draws and even hitting trips with my 6s. Not to mention I already had blockers for the flush and straight; decreasing villain odds - if I was behind, i was only marginally behind, so I was basically getting good odds for my money at like 6:1.

That was the thought process there.

Turned out BTN was just a fish going crazy though.

Hey pals, 5NL going much better than last time. Currently $46 profit in 8,000 hands. Made a good "hero call" today, in fact, my only hero call at 5NL so far.

I know it's not exactly like calling with Jack high, and there'll be people here to say, "Yeah, that's a standard call" but I thought it was a good call.

I've got a $50 bonus on the way and also some FPPs that will add to the roll. Might take me a while to get the $50 because I'm only 16% the way there.

Not sure whether to take shots at 10NL at 20 buy ins, or 30 buy ins -- what do you guys think?

Good stuff. Would reccommend waiting until $200 or 20 buyins to "shot-take" 10NL. As 30 buyins will have you rolled. My strategy would be to hopefully grind up your roll at 10nl and get to the point where your rolled once you hit $200. A 5 buyin shot take is fine, meaning if you get down to $150 from there that will be your drop down point to have to go back to 5nl fully rolled with 30 buyins.
                  Cheers. Trent

                    Lol 4k loosing isn't a downswing
Take 1-2 days off m8 and things will clear
