I normally only check my results at the end of the month but I felt things had been finally going better for me recently so couldn't help having a little peek at my results so far this month:

I hadn't checked my cashier for 2 months as I had decided if I went busto then that was it for me with regards to poker. I also thought that I would be playing as scared money if I knew exactly how low my balance was. I looked the other day when I checked my results and worked out that I was down to 12 buy ins. A close run thing.

Not too much to report lately and no hands have come up that have been worthy of any sort of discussion but as a small update a coupe of Belarusian players have appeared recently, one of whom in particular is proving to be a bit of a bugger to play against and it's likely I'll be tangling with him in some tricky spots. I fear he has been coming out on top so far.

I've also come up against someone who is playing 15/12/6.8 but it 3betting me at 10%. The strange this is that I've been 4betting him a fair bit in response, not even bothering about blockers etc (he folded to my first ten 4bets in a row!!!) and he isn't adjusting at all. He just keeps 3betting away and has only once 5bet.

Anyway, here's a hand from this morning against an unknown. Just one of those wtf moments:

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (8 handed) - Full Tilt Converter Tool from http://flopturnriver.com

MP1 ($19.54)
Hero (MP2) ($25)
CO ($26.71)
Button ($25.24)
SB ($8.50)
BB ($15.53)
UTG ($25)
UTG+1 ($22)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 7, 7
3 folds, Hero raises to $0.75, 1 fold, Button calls $0.75, 1 fold, BB calls $0.50

Flop: ($2.60) 7, J, 5 (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $1.70, Button calls $1.70, 1 fold

Turn: ($6) A (2 players)
Hero bets $4.30, Button raises to $22.79 (All-In), Hero calls $18.25 (All-In)

River: ($51.10) 8 (2 players, 2 all-in)

Total pot: $51.10 | Rake: $2.56

Spoiler:

Button had 4, 4 (one pair, fours).
Hero had 7, 7 (three of a kind, sevens).
Outcome: Hero won $48.64

Is there a reason you do not play on Stars Husker ?

I played a few thousand hand on Stars last year and it was a pain. Having no stats on anyone and probably being viewed as a fish due to being an unknown resulted in me being 3bet at around 30%, having cbets raised all over the place etc. I suppose there is the option of breaking the TOC and buying some HH's but I didn't want to do that. I keep saying that I'll eventually get around to moving to Stars at some point but I never do.

Oh, and I still think FTP has the better software

Finished up for the month. A little disappointed with the volume as I usually get around 33 - 35k hands but I've started playing football a second night a week so that impacts on my volume. Anyway here's the results:

Spoiler:

My winrate is (an unsustainable for me) 9.33bb so I'm running a little hot imo. But damn, I'm due it

Here's my graph since the downswing started:

Onwards and, hopefully, upwards

Nice. It's like you just decided to start winning. Such a nice line to your graph, there's barely a 100bb swing, I seem to have multiple 20BI swings every week.

TY. It's like FTP just decided to let me start winning again
From looking at your graphs I think we have a very different style of play. Not that either one is right or wrong.

gl, hope you reach your goals!

May I ask why you 3bet so smallish from the blinds..I get that it is cheaper, but does that make up for the times people call with drawing hands or small PP because they now have the odds to do so?

Is there a particular hand you are referring to?

Because it was only a min open. AT should also have been raised to $2.00 not sure why I was a bb short.

I might be wrong, just think you min open to get people to fold too much and also to 3bet too small so you can call IP with drawing hands..I only play 25nl zoom myself and noone playing higher commented on it being bad so I might be way off though. I would like to know if I should just 3bet smaller myself when I am oop..

For a 2x open a 8x 3bet is standard as far as I'm aware. There are better players than me on here though so they can comment on it.

There isn't much reason in going more than 8x oop to a min open cus you really reduce you're post flop playability/stack to pot ratio. The only reason you would go 9-10x 3b oop is because you'd rather take it down there and then to avoid having to play the pot. Fwiw if you aren't overly confident in 3b pots oop then this isn't a bad thing at all. You can 3b larger with a narrower range (obviously be sure to not be too value heavy!) of hands and pots will feel generally more comfortable to play. Alternatively just small value 3b the guys with low f23b and big bluff 3b the high f23b
