Do you do run good lessons, rich? This is my stats for flips with less than 14bbs at T300> so far THIS YEAR! Getting worried now, in depserate need of a heater. Sigh. Have had the weekend off but lost about 50 bucks on Friday and I'm in the middle of what is at the moment losing session now too. 12 month boomswitch one time.
Hey. It's been really swingy but not too bad. Was stuck a TON today as it was my first day playing 8s/3rs (was looking like worst day ever) but I managed a big comeback and broke-even on the day. Will do a big February report tomorrow and set some targets for March. Gl all.
So, February was a bit of a wash-out, sadly. I've never had such a prolonged period of ugliness. My EV is all out of whack, especially in the late game although that seems to have started to normalize a bit now. My finish distribution when ITM has been so different this month to previously. 13 wins and 17 seconds compared to 23 wins and 9 seconds last month. It's caused me to take a really long look at my game though and I've been studying hard which will hopefully pay off when I stop swinging so much.
I started reading a bit of The Mental Game Of Poker yesterday and I can recognise a lot of the things Jared talks about in myself at the moment. My volume has suffered a lot this month and I've taken quite a few days off where I wouldn't usually because I've been out the night before or whatever but really it just comes from a lack of motivation because I don't want to lose probably.
As mentioned I started my staking deal a week or so back and that's been good. Adrian, my backer, has been awesome and I started mixing 3.5rs and 8s on Wednesday for the first time (you'll see the huge swing at the end of my garph!). Provided my account's not in MU he's allowed me to play any stake 180s I like which is great, though I'll be sticking to 2.5s, 3rs and 8s for a while yet.
During February I've also changed from cascading to stacking. I find it much less tilting playing more tables when you can't see them flashing all over the place. I've also turned off almost all sounds apart from the warning when you go into timebank which I found really helped me keep calm mass-tabling. I play on two 22" screens so have the stack on the left with hotkeys in TN to move table to four slots tiled in the right hand screen when there's a hand I want to see or a final table.
Ok, so GOALS....
• Volume – I wasn't too far off this and nearly completed 2k games but feel like I could be doing tons more. Next month I want to crack 2500 games.
• Moving Up – I've just started mixing 50% 3r/8s so I want to see how that goes in March. I'd love to be playing these exclusively by the end of the month.
• Profit – February was MILES off and very disappointing but I feel like I played well mostly and this was out of my hands. In March I really must make $2k.
• Bankroll – I’d like to playing off my own roll towards the end of the year.
• Updates - Hopefully this month I'll have happier news. This thread hasn't been very popular really but I'm gonna start crushing again in March and people like winners!
IRL
• Get (semi) fit –NOTHING. I WILL be doing something about this in March.
• Keep a good poker/life balance – This probably hasn't been too great. I've been on life tilt through February, stressing about money etc. Have been relatively active though. Not sure what to report here. Need to think about it. Would definitely be good to have the Brighton 2+2ers meet up though.
Ok, so below are garphs and stats for the month. Please let me know if it's too much or not enough - if there's anything else you're interested in seeing.
Due some massive heat so LET'S GO MARCH!!!!

Reason: tidying up
keep up the work ethic m8 and from chatting about a few spots (which have been so close in general imo), with a mini heater, whilst mixing in the 3r & 8s your due a good month.
post some of thos spots on here btw, maybe a weekly 5 hands your not sure about or summin, reckon they'd be of interest to readers and helpful to you.
also, someone pitch a date for a Brighton meet up, I'm well up for it.
Out tomoz nite, Hove and probs then town if your about for a quick beer. Starting early tho so no idea what i'll be like by later but think you have my number if your about.
Hey Coggy. I'll give you a shout tomorrow night if I'm in town. Would definitely be great to meet up. Will start posting some hands too.
Today was a total wipeout after all the "new month/new start" positivity of this morning. It's mind-boggling that it's possible to run so bad for so long but hey, tomorrow's a new day and I won't be kept down. The question is, do I play 8s/3rs tomorrow or not? It's worrying when I'm running like this. Whatever. Either way, here's to a monstrous weekend.
Lol that my Jarred Book, geez just borrow it, it's great. As for your garphs (arf..) be cool. Heater is en route. You're great at 180s. It's only a matter of time (and not long imho). Strat Monday! Glgl
Cheers dozza. 2k games breakeven now, though. Nightmare stuff. Anyway..... Here's an interesting hand before I go to bed. Think it was probably a fold but the guy who shoved was spewy and didn't look too strong. More tomorrow....
Preflop: Hero is MP2 with J J
2 folds, Hero raises to 1,244, 3 folds, SB calls 944, BB raises to 11,843 and is all-in, Hero raises to 20,042 and is all-in, SB calls 1,221 and is all-in
Flop: (26,551) 3 9 T (3 players, 3 are all-in) Turn: (26,551) 5 (3 players, 3 are all-in) River: (26,551) 5 (3 players, 3 are all-in)
Spoiler:
Results: 26,551 pot
Final Board: 3 9 T 5 5
SB showed 9 A and won 7,795 (5,280 net)
BB showed A A and won 18,756 (6,863 net)
Hero showed J J and lost (-11,893 net)
Nah, I think that sounds about right probably. He was spewy but not that spewy and it's a massive overshove. Saying that, you could usually exclude AA/KK from his range but it's tough to approach a logical game like that against illogical opponents.
Today started awfully and I lost about 40 buyins in my first session and then tonight I started loading again and hit some massive heat. Didn't make huge cash but it's the first time in a while it's felt like that so hopefully it'll carry into tomorrow and I can crush. Gonna play a session of $2.50s in the afternoon and then, if I'm running ok and feeling good, I'll play a session of 8s/3rs in the evening. Haven't had a drink for a few days so feeling fresh and ready to ship the bacons!
In other news, I went for a run this morning and can't describe how much it helped this afternoon. Tilted less, focused more. Wasn't very long - about 2 miles or so - but we'll work on getting that up this week. GL at the tables all.
Finally, here's a hilarious hand from today which pinpoints the lack of logic. Anyone care to explain this to me? (Final table bubble btw.)
JJ hand I don't think I'm folding there without a read. He turns up with a lot worse so often and I think (unless the read is hud dependant) that 10s + AK, AQ is far to narrow. Especially for the ship. Be interested in others thoughts tbh as this may be a leak of mine !!!
FT bubbble hand is weird but not super weird/bad imo. Yr range is massive, if he doubles now he has a chance at top 3 and he's got a 'pretty' hand to smash yours with 6bb left after this hand. I still fold but seen these plays a fair bit.
Might be on the 2.50s later this arvo, need to gpo running first and shift the alcohol !!!!
JJ is a fold prob, but i've seen regs to resteal wide there. T8s i dont like the call at all cause even if you are damn wide there he need to be realy tight due to icm, making his call a bad one
