Re: 2012: from micros to midstakes

update#22

lol my graph today looks exactly the same as yesterday. i finally figurd out that playing tight is the way to go here. probably gonna say bye to my crazy redline during th next few days. lost most my flips today again but overall i m pretty happy with my play. i think the regs are starting to hate me and some are spazzing like crazy. they suck out tho

hands: 8440
profit: $39

br is $399 but since i m playing a crazy amount of tables i will stay at nl5 for a while and grind up a cushion for nl10 fr. moving up at $550 i guess.

gl all

Re: 2012: from micros to midstakes

bah its getting really frustrating. since i started regrinding i ve been running 23 buyins below EV. over 26k hands. just really annoying because i feel like i am playing fairly well.
I still remember one period where i was annoyed that i was running exactly at EV. hell i wish i could be thinking that now

anyways, here's the proof:

and this hand is a perfect examleof what's been going on:

PokerStars - $0.05 NL (9 max) - Holdem - 9 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

BTN: $2.00
SB: $4.53
BB: $3.86
UTG: $3.15
Hero (UTG+1): $6.68
MP: $1.96
MP+1: $6.25
LP: $3.11
CO: $6.23

SB posts SB $0.02, BB posts BB $0.05

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero has 7 7

fold, Hero raises to $0.15, fold, fold, LP calls $0.15, CO raises to $0.80, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls $0.65, fold

Flop: ($1.82, 2 players) 7 Q J
Hero bets $1.20, CO raises to $5.43 and is all-in, Hero calls $4.23

Turn: ($12.68, 2 players) T

River: ($12.68, 2 players) 5

Hero shows 7 7 (Three of a Kind, Sevens) (Pre 55%, Flop 87%, Turn 23%)
CO shows A K (Straight, Ace High) (Pre 45%, Flop 13%, Turn 77%)
CO wins $12.06

br is at $373

edit: this was one of the last hands of the latest session. bad call pre etc etc

Yeeah it's actually crazy how bad the regs are. There was one today who had not called a 3b by me or anyone for that matter over 1500 hands or
So. 4b%=2 or less. They are just giving away their money

Re: 2012: from micros to midstakes

update#24

alright so i took a day off yesterday and played one shortish session today. won some and ran well in the hypers to get the br up to $420
i think i will up the volume during the next week to try and reach platinum. vpp count is at pretty much exactly 4k so i need to get 500 vpp/day to do that. i still remember that i used to get in about 200 vpp per 3k hands at nl10 so it will be a sick grind at nl5 fullring but i think this is the fastest way for me at least to grind up a decent roll to then try and improve my overall game at higher stakes. i think i m still going to be playing the hypers though as i really like the return i ve been able to get in them.

one more important thing though: taking breaks. grinding long hours is tough on the eyes which in turn decreases the uality of my overall play so from now on i will be taking a 10 min break every two hours during which i will not look at anything that is bright. i have also noticed that after each and every break i seem to be winning the most while the sessions during which i play nonstop have been the worst ones.

unfortunately i think i will have to cash out some during the next few days but i am confident that i will hit $2k by the end of february!
lets do this!!!

and gl to all my fellow grinders who seem to have had a similarly rough week.

hands today: 4044
profit: $57 with 2 stellars and a satty

graph today:

Re: 2012: from micros to midstakes

haha you sure bout that?

will try to just not look at any graphs during the sessions but its annoying annyhow

uhh not sure i dont really want to move down again so i might play at nl5 a bit longer until $550-$600 or so. cuz i think i will keep playing a lot of tables at nl10 and sitting on tables with half my roll would kinda suck

I doubt he's playing all that nitty considering his flattish redline. All nits have redlines going steadily downward, especially at 5nl fr.

not inferring he is a nit but rather FR is known to have a ton of nitty players just set mining and playing extremely straightfoward.
