Agreed, zoom is very convenient. I set a timer on my phone @ 1 hour and play until it goes off. Then do some stretching exercises, walk around a bit, refill drink etc, then sit back down and start the timer again. I take slightly longer breaks when I notice I'm losing focus.

Re: $10K at the micros in 1 month
Day 3 results:
Another lame day I think I subconsciously tilted a bit somewhere during the downswing as I got stacked a few times with limited thought process and afterwards wondering why I played the hand so badly.

Hey Grindcore, what would you do if Villain called your CB and turn was diamond or overcard? Would you still keep betting tiny to extract value from underpair + diamon or some Ax with diamond that floated?
What if turn was diamond or overcard and Villain open-shipped, would you call?
If turn/river were blanks I suppose you would keep making tiny bets for value, but if turn/river were blanks and Villain shipped over your bets at some point, would you call?

Ran bad at 600+, would regrind at 400 and constantly quickly lose it all at higher stakes running terrible, ending in ~80K under EV there. This demotivated me so I kinda stopped playing but had high living expenses so that ate my roll over time. Started grinding again this year trying to make SNE, had to start at NL200, went well for 2 months but then gave up as it left me with no free time so again I didn't play for a few months and living expenses ate all the profit from this year. So I was back at having to start at NL200 again and took some failed shots at 500 zoom while also losing some at 200 so here I am.

Re: $10K at the micros in 1 month
How do you mentally cope with Rush if you get upset at that?
I used to have tilt problems with Rush, and I definately dont have this level of anger issues.
EDIT - I thought you(OP) said he won the hand. Sorry about that, must have misread.
Also, is it me or are stack sizes incorrect in that hand? Villain has 101bb pre flop, but post flop put in more than 101bb.

Re: $10K at the micros in 1 month
With a good run that's possible; if one can lose 10K in one month, then with more play making 10K in one month is possible.

If so, why do you choose to play zoom ? Do you think that more hands / hr is worth giving up a lot of EV ? I know that you still have huge edge on this stakes, just with your style I didn't imagine you playing zoom
|
Sorry, missed your post for some reason. Yeah I remember you (your name at least ). Yes, zoom doesn't play into my strengths. However, it's very convenient and great for volume. Also the lower the stakes the more randomness there is in players games so less read based play is required and solid fundamentals are a bigger % of your earnings. It's also easier to play high volume with a more solid "balanced" style than lagging it up with reads. And at higher stakes the player pool is smaller so you still get good reads/dynamics with regs. Starting sessions/table selecting at NL400+ is really a huge pain so I'm hoping by getting more used to this I can switch to NL500 zoom from regular games at some point. Wouldn't surprise me if I went back to regular games after a while though.

I have very good tilt control. Always had a calm personality. Though when rush was brand new I too had unexplainable rush tilt or whatever you want to call it. I think it's because I'm used to making plays based on extracting information which is severely reduced in EV at zoom, though I'm not sure. I have no problems with zoom now though. I'm not sure what changed.
The bets add up to the stacksize? His all-in is the total $, not the amount on top of his $5 bet if that's what you're talking about.

5bb/100 over 250K hands = $10K after rakeback. I don't know if I'll make 5bb/100 or manage to put in 250K hands, but it seems feasible.

On a diamond I'd bet larger since he can now have a FD. If he openships on it I fold. On a blank I might check back turn to call river as he likely has total air. Otherwise probably bet tiny again. It's not just pairs and Ax calling me with this size. If I was targeting those I'd bet like 80% on the flop.

My work ethic hasn't been the best lately and a downswing made me move down anyway, so I figured I'd give myself a challenge. This will also bring me back in touch with how these stakes play which may or may not be useful for certain unmentionable things
Will post updates and worthy hands.

GL with this. Been doing this alot myself so i know its absolutly possible. 10K is a pretty tough goal tho. But if you make it to nl100 within some weeks i guess you make it. Subbed for motivation so i dont end up like this again myself :P
