in conclusion, i will always find it enjoyable to stack someone who has made the decision to put the last of his liferoll on a 1-2 table in Atlantic City. if i'm going to hell bc of that, I hope the devil hosts uncapped games.

11,269 VPPs.

i'm about 14k behind pace. feeling a lot better now though and have played a good amount the past few days. i am scheduling 5 off days per month for SNE, so i'll just have to not take too many days off the rest of this month and play a little extra. it sucks to start the year off slow, but if im in the 75kish range at the end of the month I'll consider it a success given the circumstances.

Thanks for the update. The elite thread says get ahead of pace to prevent December madness.

Greg what kind of vpps do you get per game? How many games must you play roughly per day?

Hey dude I just realized your from Richmond, Va. That's where I from as well and most of my family went to VT. Pretty crazy I thought I knew every poker player from Richmond. I live in Miami now but next time I'm in town if you want to get a beer let me know. Gl with the challenge man.

i probably play an average stake of $330, that will probably increase throughout the year though. so 82.50 vpps/game.

if i'm playing lower 200-330 40-50 games per day. 330+ i play 20-35 per day.

still getting used to the grind though. i'm sure the way i do things will change a lot over the course of the year.

VPPs: 16,560 (about 11k behind pace)

Played pretty decent volume the past few days. Played some 550+ yesterday. Got some fish, but also played redgrape and joe cada in 1.1ks (i went 1-3). I've run pretty well in 2 mans so far this month.

I have been 3-way partnering 4 mans with Phmerc and sa1251 the past few days, so that's where a lot of my games have been. I delete these games from my HEM, since they don't reflect correctly on my ev graph etc. I'd prefer to not get into any details about 3waying in this thread.

I am really happy with how I'm playing this year. I'm handling variance well and just focusing on making good decisions. My mental couldn't be any better. It's probably the best it's ever been at the moment. I'm just trying to keep my life regulated, eat clean, good workouts...just very consistent. Making SNE isn't about accomplishing my goals in a few weeks or anything, it's about consistent small steps forward day after day. Starting off the year with the flu was a minor setback, but I am definitely going in the right direction now.

I've been lifting weights consistently the past 7 months or so. Getting sick SUCKS for this wtf. First time I've gotten really sick and had to take a long period off from the gym. Getting back into it the past few days has been really tough. Strength sucks. Energy sucks. Maybe I don't tilt in poker these days bc I've been so busy tilting at the gym. Just have to get back in the swing of things though really, no big deal - working out regularly is just so +ev poker...it really helps to regulate my energy level throughout the day and I focus better and longer.

Will try to post some hands today.

good luck.

Is this a problem with shootouts, or is it because of 3-way partnering.

HEM recognizes 4 man tournaments as 2 mans basically. you can manually change the result for the game, but it just takes too long imo.

And when partner and him gets on the same table they have to go all in first hand, so HEM track this like a lost match for Hokie... although his partner will win him money some % of the time.

Greg I know you don't want to talk about it. But really that sounds extremely shady and you either have to address it on some format or don't mention it at all. I'm flabbergasted that would be allowed (if stars even does).

PokerStars is dumb in the first place to forbid this. I don't get any advantage against you if I'm teaming with someone. They lost ALOT of players when forbidding this. I don't know why Greg should talk about that... He is not cheating anyone.

yeah this has been talked about over and over
pokerstars has ruled that this is not colluding and that it is perfectly ok for people to play as "teams" as there can be no chip dumping, squeezing etc..

it's not the legality that i want to avoid discussing.

i just don't want to discuss certain things that would encourage other regs to start 3waying. there aren't many people that 3-way and i would like to keep it that way. i have no idea how profitable it is long term, it might even be -ev, but i'm def not posting results in here or anywhere win or lose -- that's all i'm saying about it though.

i just felt i'd mention that's where a good amount of my vpps have been coming from recently. i've played a grand total of like 125 2 mans this month or something lol.

Will do. Thanks. Shocked & disgusted tbh that they allow it.

Why?
1 Year 1 Million: HokieGreg HU SuperNova Elite 2011 Quote

VPPs: 23,565 (2265 behind pace with 0 off days remaining)

I plan on scheduling 5 off days each month. I was sick and didn't play the first 5 days of this month, so I'm out of off days lolz. That means that I need to make an average of 3206 vpps/day the rest of this month with no days off to stay on track for SNE (83.3k). I don't think playing every day is practical for me - I'll almost def get burnt out. I'm going to either bust my ass and get ahead of pace and take a day or 2 off, or I'm going to just take 2 days off anyways and finish the month around 75k. I really need to be careful not to burn myself out this early in the year. I feel good about my grind though. I definitely don't see any reason I won't finish this month in the 75-85k vpp range.

I think I've been playing pretty well recently. I've been playing mostly 4 mans, going to be playing a lot more 2 mans next few days though...will be able to post more graphs then.

The hardest part about playing SNE volume is maintaining a normal, healthy, consistent lifestyle away from the tables. It's just so easy after a 7-8 hour session to want to sit around and do nothing. Relaxing is good sometimes of course, and necessary. It's just important to realize that once your session ends that doesn't mean that your job is complete. If I am going to play another 7-8 hour session the next day, I need to prepare myself both physically and mentally to maintain the sick grind. Get in workouts (energy, makes me feel good, etc), eat clean (consistent energy - no highs and lows), take care of any life stuff that would cause anxiety during a session (pay bills, phone calls, clean place, etc). Maybe for some of you sick grinders out there this stuff is trivial, but for me it is completely essential. I am just not a high volume grinder by nature, and the only way for me to be able to put in a lot of games consistently is to stay super-consistent with these type of things.

Making a video, gym, then the grind.

Good luck

Hey Greg, gl with your goal.

Im planning on starting to play HUsng full time in may, as a like how the game just requires you to adapt so much, and i feel i am getting an amazing opportunity as my friend who had a 100k profit first year is willing to give me a staking/coaching deal.

Theres a few things i feel i still need to figure out.

As far as HU sngs go do you think the fields are relatively comparable on FT/stars/Party/Absolute/Everest? Or do some sites seem to have significantly softer fields/ larger proportion of recreationnal players?

I was thinking that 2 waying 4mans is a good way to diminish variance and stay focused/disciplined?

As far as 3waying 4 mans go wouldnt the formula to calculate their profitability be quite simple?

To be breakeven before rakeback you would have to keep a a win:lose ratio of

Bi / [ (Bi/3) - (rake) ]: 1

This might be off btw.

GL again, and gratz on your dope month
