Never folding T9s pre, usually just flat in BB though. As played flop is so so so much better as a x/jam, never donkjam this spot.

I somehow completely missed all this before but thanks for the feedback guys! Don't feel like you need to leave things in my thread, always better when hands get a discussion going and welcome any/all feedback and constructive criticism

I just assume Joe is always right so feel a bit better knowing he'd peel the 4b too! Agreed that c/jam is better if I'm seeing a flop there though.

Anyway yeah... Not updated this in a long time...

Not busto but barely played and probably down a couple of buy in's in the last couple of weeks.

Since the last update I've turned 28 and long story short I'm 99% moving to Newcastle for a new job within the next 2 weeks.

All happened pretty fast and at short notice so trying to get a new car plus all my stuff up here sorted out and find a new place down there has meant very little time for poker. The one live tournament I've played I managed to nearly bubble a GPS seat so that was sad beans.

Will do a more poker related update when I have more time but tl:dr cliffs:

Not busto and volume lacking due to real life stuff but haven't forgotten the thread and will get back to it when there's more news and poker stuff to update!

Thanks chief! Leg is coming along pretty well too ta. I've to go back next month (Not actually sure why but I think just for a check up).

I still can't do cardio/sports but I can bend and straighten my leg fully again and walk normally again with no pain. Still doing my exercises daily but physio seemed really pleased with how I'm doing and down to one appointment every 3 weeks so still a long way to go but feeling good so far!

------

Played 1600 hands on Tuesday which is the most I've played in literally about 2 months... Lost a couple of buy ins but ran like 1.5 buy ins below ev and times I got stacked were from what I think were good triple barrels and river jams into weak/capped ranges getting tank/hero-ed so feel fine with it and quite enjoyed the grind despite not winning.

Not played since and not sure if I'll get a chance tonight so failing that then back on it tomorrow

Spoiler alert: I am still alive!

I'll try and do a bigger update in the next couple of days but I'm currently playing in a live tournament at Aspers and I can only describe it as genuinely probably the softest tournament I've ever played. It's what I imagine poker must have been like in 2006... So many ridiculous and hilarious hands already.

Still 64 players left so a long way to go but it's going well so far...

Good luck to me!

Thanks my man! I'll get a full update up and try to sum up the last month or so when I have more time (being a grown up with responsibilities sucks ) but in short, I did not win the tournament last night. AQ < A3o all in pre for double average with 25 players left

In terms of online... just played this hand. In before he reports me for superusing.

Happy to say that OP is neither dead not busto. I've been wanting to get back to writing and updating this for a while. It's Saturday and the fact that the weather is horrific and I can hear the rain belting off my windows has killed any desire to go outside at the moment so this seems as good a time as any!

It's been forever since I did this so gonna try and do it pretty briefly(ish) and with some pictures.

Short story is that I'm still in Newcastle and although there's people and things I miss about home I'm still really enjoying it for the most part. People are friendly and it's a cool city.

I was in Prague at the start of January – Cold as balls (was like -8c...) but really beautiful city. Lots of cool history, architecture... and really cheap beer. Christmas decorations and market were still there too so that was nice. I'm in the middle of buying a house (in Edinburgh) with the GF/fiance so that was taking up a fair bit of time. Not 100% finished yet but almost there and all going well we'll be getting the keys at the end of March... Just before Vegas at the start of April so exciting times ahead!

Work/Christmas/Holiday/Social life/House buying meant that I didn't have much time for poker until the last couple of weeks but volume has picked up again and I'm trying to play at least 1-2k hands each day.

I've put in a few live sessions as well. Chopped a tournament at Genting and cashed a couple of small ones at Aspers. I didn't even realise that they do Hendon Mob results so got my 3rd country flag and now have almost as many cashes in both the US and England as I do in Scotland... Very rarely play tournies at home admittedly but still pretty strange!

I might have said before but live poker in Newcastle genuinely seems to play like how I can only imagine poker was in the “glory days” of 2005 or so. Fish everywhere and I honestly think that a couple of the pub tournaments I used to play are tougher... Cashed I think 3/4 tournies (lol sample size I know) and won 5/5 cash sessions although nothing too spectacular.

    2016 graph:

    2017 so far (before today):

Pretty break even which sucks but truthfully I did literally no studying or trying to improve (didn't have time) for the past few months so that's on me. I've been a bit more proactive about trying to watch videos/get feedback on hands and stuff recently though so really need to keep that up and trying to improve.

I've been back home the past couple of weekends and not been able to play online at all at the weekend's - I actually think the field really is softer, even at 10nl at weekends though. At the risk of being accused of only updating while I'm winning I had a really fun 2200 hand and +5 buy in day today which is my best for a while so that's positive!

Gonna try and update this regularly again going forward but in the meantime here's some random pics since I've been in Newcastle.

St James is a really impressive stadium

    Prague in the snow

    Prague Zoo is really good!

When you get unstuck from being -£130 at blackjack and cash out +£5 it feels like a win...

This is my view right now...

Quick couple of hands to sign off with - This was from the other day, just the 300bb pot with AA... Preeeetty glad Party doesn't show all in cards till after the river at times like this. Dat sweat Thankfully I played the river perfectly so all good.

        Easy game sometimes!

Oh and bonus for lolz. A week or so ago some guy "requests to be my friend" or something on Party (which I didn't even know was a thing...) Says he's sent me a message so I go look and find this...

I genuinely don't remember what caused this but what a nice man

        TBH I laughed but: a) it's a game and b) it's 10nl so FFS!

Currently tossing up between going to grind live 1/1 at Aspers or staying in and working my way through Always Sunny which I started a week or so ago. Think the latter is going to win.

Out tomorrow to watch Hearts smash Hibs in the Edinburgh derby then might play a live session but will see how the game goes and what happens after!

        That's it for now. Peace

Agreed. Looking back I should definitely be sizing up multiway on such a draw heavy flop.

        Thanks man

Sadly no pandas! I guess I can't really complain seeing as Edinburgh is one of a handful of places in Europe with them - got pretty lucky there (although I've only actually seen them once)

        Spoiler:

That's awesome though! I've never been to Madrid but if I ever go then I know one place I'll be going!

        -----

Went and watched the Edinburgh derby today - Wish I hadn't bothered. Game was 0-0 and absolutely dreadful. Managed to persuade one of my friends from work to come with me and his response was along the lines of: "I haven't watched a Scottish football game in 4 years and I won't bother watching any more". I couldn't even disagree tbh. On the plus side 3 pints and a tasty bacon cheese and BBQ burger went down nicely.

Played an entirely uneventful 700 hand session tonight. Don't think I played a single pot over 30 bb's until right at the end. I 4bet called AK blind v blind and held v AQ so finished up just over a buy in. Going to try and put in a couple of thousand hands tomorrow and potentially play a live satellite for the GPS mini which is here next weekend but depends if I can find motivation to go out again after work.

So I somehow managed to miss this post and let the thread die again... apologies!

Not going to lie, Edinburgh being (I think) the only city in Europe with pandas is amazing

Until recently I have been playing exclusively FF on Party and have played some 25nl again recently. Only a few thousand hand sample but has started well. Also been mixing in some $5/11 heads up hypers recently and remembered why I them haha.

I will do bigger updates and stuff eventually but my laptop died a month or so ago and I lost my HM2 database and I'm not a baller so I don't even have any sexy graphs tbh.

Did bink $1200 in a donkament last week and am currently sitting on my own in Edinburgh airport drinking a £4.90 Tenants as my flight to Vegas has been delayed by 2 hours. Not the greatest start to the trip but if that's as bad as the run bad gets I certainly won't complain.

        Vegas hype starts now!

OK apparently I was very wrong then Good to know though and glad you enjoyed it!

        ----

Laptop doesn't want to detect that my phone is plugged in so annoyingly can't upload any pictures but very quick high/low lights of Vegas so far:

        Lowlights:

        - My friend, his mate and myself busting 4 bullets between us in a ridiculously soft $100k GTD within an hour and a half

        - Bricking 3/3 single table sats including 2 where I GII pre for half the chips in play only to be 3 outered

        - Non poker: My health kick has gone to **** but not too fussed as long as I get back to it when I'm back to reality. It's about a million degrees and in 48 hours I'll be on a 20 hour journey home.

        Highlights:

        - Yet to have a losing cash session (4/4)

        - Got peer pressured into last minute Calvin Harris at Omnia on Friday night which was brilliant. Woke up the next day at 3pm still drunk...

        - Basically goading my friend into playing a sit and go sat at the Rio by calling him a nit ***** which he then went on to take down

        - Haven't spewed off more than like $50 at Blackjack!

        - For the most part think I've played really well and balanced poker pretty well with drinks/fun.

        ------

Will try and do a bigger update with some hand histories and pics later/when I get home. Last day and a half and I never want to leave

I even looked into moving my flight and staying a bit longer but I booked a package through Expedia and after a 24 hour sweat no changes and a 1 way ticket home with a < 24 hour journey was like 1k so GG to that idea sadly.

Currently (more or less) -$600 tournies and +$1k cash. 1.5 days to make it a big winning trip and hopefully meet a couple of guys from the stable who backed me in the past (big shout out to CBiscuit who were brilliant).

        Much love everyone

Vegas was brilliant. Would love to go back for longer next year but will see how agreeable work and the other half are nearer the time

Honestly nothing much to report otherwise. Life is busy but good. Barely played online lately but up a few buy ins in a meaningless sample of 25nl fast forward on Party. Currently sat in a live game where I just witnessed a guy bet 50 quid of his £70 stack into a £15 pot on the flop and then fold to a jam
