i played out all 10 step1s got 5 step2s.not to bad. the people play quite poorly at the step1s it seems.my plan is 10 step1s a day.i played two tables just to get used to the new hud.ill move up to four tables soon.i think ill play 2 sessions a day.run all 10 step1 then break and play most my step2.ill save some step2 and any step3 tickets for the last day then play them all.do the tickets expire on day 7 meaning play them up on day 6?thanks for the help

The software changed at the end of my Steppin' days. You used to (and might still) be able to see all your tournament tickets and the exact time and date they expire. But if not, it never hurts to play it safe.

Yes, I started the challenge again (not much else you can do with a 4 cent bankroll lol), and am amazed at how easy the Step1s still are.

I think I when I get back from break and have to budget my time, I will save my Step1s to play while watching prime time tv. One mindless activity deserves another.

I can't get over how stupid some of the players are. Last night we got down to four players and the short stack was down to 40 chips and it was pretty clear he was sitting out. I thought the other players knew that, but on the last hand the second highest stack went all in, and was actually called by the highest stack, who knocked him out. No clue. I love it.

ya the step1 players are quite awfull. im on day 3 of my challenge.20 step1s played i now have 5 step3 tickets.i took a string of bad beats at the step2s and played a little steamed.thats something im going to have to work on.i also played the $50 PLO freeroll and got 12th for.50c. i planned to get at least a little bankroll built before i play any money tables.good luck all

update on my zero to hero...on day 4 of the challenge i had 5 step 3 tickets and played them out.i won two to bring my BR to $2.50. i decided to take a shot at 02/04 limit and did ok got my BR to $5.30.then the downswing started.i kept getting struck down over and over.i decided to take a break for a bit and regroup.i hadnt played limit in a long time so i got my old books back out and did some online study to renew/refresh my game.im not letting the bad beats and miracle 1 outers get to me now.ive gotten my game back to being solid and i am doing good.my plan is to grind/study limit for awhile then move up when the BR allows it.i like the challenge of starting from scratch and seeing where it can go. $0 to$7.40 and counting.good luck to all

Any updates? I personally went on a downswing after my last update. I've been bouncing around $20 for awhile. Right when I start to break upward I go on another bad run, hit by suckouts left and right. If nothing else, it's good practice in patients.

Stopped playing for a bit and then went back to the steps. Binked a few and then played a ton of 11 cent turbos.
Currently playing stud/8 when I have time.

I just started playing again after taking a few months off to play other games during my morning computer game time. I'm still grinding the fun steps as my online sng game is weak at the moment.

I binked a 3 yesterday bringing me up to $16.95. That's plenty to start grinding the Fast Fifty once I feel like my game is sharp enough. Once I have a trickle of points coming in I plan to use those to play occasional MTTs.

On the live front, I recently had two firsts - first $500 win (home tournament) and first $500 loss (casino 1/2, running horrible in a game too good to leave).

Primarily playing NL .02/.04 as the stud games don't run when I am on. I would like to say I'm nitting it up and playing solid ABC poker, but we know that's not true! Super laggy in position and nitty in EP. I have been running at 28/24 overall and table select like a boss. Just having fun with it more than anything else.

Played first game in over 3 months (combination of busy and tilt control after a mini run bad about 75-100 games). It feels good to be back. A little confused by how the names and structures of games have changed, but I'll figure it out and crunch numbers to see which are the best investment. Do any of you play Double or Nothings? I feel like that's the least rake and therefore most feasible to play, yet it draws in the biggest nits but also several pretty good players too who seem nitty at first but catch on and adjust well to my targeted aggression.

So my questions is from a situation where I had AQ in the BB 3rd in chips (maybe around 14 BB) and in BB. 2 limpers (a 35/11 and a 22/14 respectively) and SB folds. Do I reraise pot since I'm behind to only the very rare sneaky play? Or do I check and plan to check fold anything that's not at least top pair second kicker and just squeak this out?

This is just one specific hand, but I was just looking for advice on how people play the bubble of a DON.

Anyone still around? I was playing maybe once or twice a month just to not lose VIP points for awhile, but have started to get a few in a week now (also cashed my freeroll ticket for february for a few bucks).

Nice. Down to a dollar and back up to triple digits again? That's some huge swing. I took one shot at .02/.04 last time I got above $30 then got in my money with a good hand but against a nit (shoulda known he was holding and laid mine down) and lost a buy in and never went back, then went on a bad run in SnGs. But now I'm over $40, so I have over 10 max buy ins and can definitely take some one BI shots and give it another shot, just keeping a solid game going. Maybe I'll see you there.

I used to build my roll form not much to few hundred a bunch of times on merge. The game that was the biggest boost for me was the 0/8 .02/.04c tables. Just learn & play a tight solid 0/8 game and the fish will do the rest. I never had any luck at micro nl and im a decent player. More fish and recs in the micro 0/8 games. I find it to be alot more entertaining as well. Just some food for thought.

It has been an interesting week as I have taken some time off to recoup after surgery. I ran up to 200 at one point and then dropped as low as $60. Playing a mix of tournaments and cash with some craps to entertain my inner degenerate.

Using the phrase "inner degenerate" affords you a shield from scrutiny. However, out of curiousity alone, want kinda bankroll management are we talking here? Varying daily? Certain percent? Never a thought towards it?

I usually hit the casino when I have a profitable session. I like to use 20-25 bucks to play craps and/or table games. I usually run it up big and lose it back. One of my wins pushed my roll to 220 so I ran that up to 320 playing 3 card poker..........and then shut it down after dropping 150 of that in the blink of an eye.

I really don't put much thought to bankroll management after nearly bustling on so many occasions. My only issue is to stay above $100. That ensures I can always stay in the game. I just try to entertain myself and have a good time

Just checking back in after over half a decade (crazy, right?). Up and down in actual amount of time playing. Despite low traffic, been playing a little more the past couple months, but in general I've averaged about a single SNG per day since my last post.

But I guess biannual update lol. Got up around $2000 a few months or so after my last post and withdrew quite a bit. Then got the obligatory downswing when bankroll couldn't handle it and spent most of the pandemic slogging through smallest stakes, refusing to deposit, and grinding my way back, but just under $2500 mark at the moment. Not that I play anything more than recreational anyway, but it's a shame how dead the site is and how this whole thread is more an ancient memory than anything else now.
