nothing fancy about these 3 games. i made mistakes in two that pretty much cost me the game.

1 - in co raised pot bb smooths as do i with AQ - everyone else folds - flop queen high - bb checks i ck - co bets - bb calls i raise - co fold bb snap calls - he has slow played KK and i was basically crippled. - out in 6th

2 - I raise midd with A10 - crazy guy reraises - I ship - this is mid tourny - i had no reason but he was basically being a donk - but doesnt mean he has nothing here - i NEVER call off in these with A10 - dude has AJ and I'm basically out... out in 5th

3rd is still being played - im 3rd with 3 left but decent chips - will get back to you!

In the 3rd I got chip lead - then called one guys all in with my 1010 - his K3 sucked out - then pushed QQ and had another guy call with K10? - hits king - im short stacked - then in blind kq - flop king high - i ship - guy calls A3 for half his stack - hits ace on river...

made it to the 50/100 level, about 1600 runners left and busted out. got my money in good but my flush draw didn't complete and guy binked Ace on the river to give him top pair to my JJ.

such is life, 3500 field with pretty shallow play means tons of variance.

I'm regg'ed for the NLHE freeroll starting in an hour and a half but i have errands to run and may get blinded out. I'll update afterwards.

Indeed the freerolls can be a total luckfest. Sorry you busted! Better luck in the next one (if you get home in time maybe you can get it in - double - then again - then be right back in it!)

Second hand... This shows the level of play rampant in these Steps tournies (at least early on). I'm happy to say that this guy did bust out in 5th while I eased my way into the top 3. $200 HORSE freeroll... here we go...

and I'm out of the HORSE tournie. Made it down to about 800 runners of 2500 after luckboxing a couple hands at Holdem when I was only down to 1 BB. Antes kicked in and I made it to Omaha where I got my money in with two pair and a back door 2nd nut flush draw and the board ran out to give villain a straight.

such is life. Pretty happy with my first HORSE tournie, I haven't played Stud or Razz in a very long time so I stuck with folding most hands - which I believe lost me a ton of value.

I just became aware of the funsteps this week (DonkeyCopter mentioned them in his home game blog thread dealy).

Started playing day before yesterday. So far I'm finding it easy to get and hold onto step 2 tickets. Only played 2 step 3s so far and finished ~5th in each. I have something like two or three 2s and two 3s to play next time I have time.

I like the short format of the first two steps - an hour or less for each.

My only previous experience playing online was trying to grind zero to ??? on Poker Stars (cashed several six- or eight-hour freerolls to total $3.23 which is trapped on that network). This is more fun.

Haha i'm trying this as well. Started last night and actually won a step 3 for $1 and have run it up to $1.55

yep playing 11c turbos! how long do you play those till and what do you move up to?

When I've done this challenge before - I played the 11c till I had about 2.50 or so - then i'd take a shot at the 60c sng. i usually cashed in this and never looked back playing the 60cs up to next level - but if you don't cash - it's easy to drop back to the 11c as you have plenty of buyins still.

Another guy is doing very well with his challenge (basically same thing - his is listed on "zero to hero on lock" (i think) his name is 3sixes. I have posted link to his challenge in this one -but i'll go and get it again. He has moved up better than I ever have in this challenge. I made it to about $60 total from zero (then crashed it).

Anyway - you might want to check out his thread also!

I was fortunate enough to get a $40 transfer on Carbon from a buddy and I have ran it up to $450 bucks. The 2.20 stt bounties are horrible. The dollar dazler(1+.10 turbo) and fast fifty (.50+.10) are also good bankroll starters. If you play plo8 or nlo8 you will also see very fishy players at the micro SNG's are also .2/.4 and .5/.10 cash games. Make sure to e-mail support them and ask for rakeback. I have played micro's for maybe 1 1/2 months and have received $30+ just in rakeback. At 35% it adds up fast even at lowest limits.

i've been playing the Steps here and there (one of my posts included some hands).

I'll continue to play them though likely won't update unless I bink 1 or a few. - I still have the $13 from a previous deposit, haven't been able to grind out some HUSNGs yet though likely will before running any/many Step 3's, right now just building up a "Steps Roll" if you will.

Those of you with ~$1.00 may consider not playing the $0.11 supers but rather continue grinding the Steps to build it to $3-5. Idk how difficult this will be, but will allow you to jump straight into some bigger games (or throwing some money at limit holdem though i'm not sure what stakes Merge offers).

One thing to keep in mind is once you build up a ticket roll for the Steps it you will be able to keep focusing on the Step 2 & 3s and build from there instead of trying to luckbox a few supers turbos for a low ROI.
